Very nice post. I think where i live part of the problem is people being trapped in our denominational brands also. Where i live in Utah we have four four struggling baptist churches two very small Pentecostal churches.(one in a plant)One Calvary Chapel .( a plant also. I've felt that if we combined some of these church and became strategic in what we are doing we could reach more of the disenfranchised parts of our community.

Thank you but where is the strategic planning? It would have been nice if you can give some outline or strategic action plan..

Isn't the key part of Matt 16:18 that Jesus said, "I"; not YOU will build my church, but I will? If we'll build people, He'll build His church. I'm so tired of getting caught in the systems, strategies, and structures of pastors who are taught to value those things instead of people. Put down the strategies for awhile, turn off all the fancy lights, stop going livestream, and cry out to Jesus for your city. Worship until something changes. And by all means, don't stop until He walks in the room and touches people. Tell them they're called to change the world and release them to do it. Heck, GIVE them a place to do it! Maybe a way to reimagine the future is to fall in love with Him again. He's the view; He's the plan; He's the strategy. Nothing works until people fall in love, and they can't do that if they can't see Him over all your fancy framework.

      1 Corinthians 3:10 NASBS
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it.

Yes, amen, AND… need to do both.
Do what you said first. …and then seek/ask/make space for Jesus reveal and guide the strategy and tactics - every step of the way.
      Right @stacey march?

There’s actually nothing here about strategic planning. Lots of rambling on how the world is changing.
