There was a reason if Season 2/3 were the most loved and watched by viewers. No Leyton, just Brucas and Naley. The moment Brucas broke up because of Peyton, ratings dropped as well. There was never a real a competition for me. I loved the Brooke/Lucas chemistry since the first Season, the way they building up this relationship... it was special. Peyton was such a pain in the ass. Never liked her character. And the more they tried to conviced us that Leyton was meant to be the more I hated it because I don't like when writers has to tell me who's destined to be together. We have to feel it, not them.

Wow, what a timing you have. I have JUST been rewatching season 3 of OTH and mourning this ship all over again. Should've been endgame. They had amazing chemistry & complemented each other in that perfect way. They had sparks & they had fire, while Leyton was just so lukewarm and boring. I think the whole psycho Derek coming back solidified her friendship with Peyton (I mean, they'd been friends a hell of a lot longer than she had with Lucas, so I kind of understood her forgiving her), but I wish they'd dealt with it a bit better.

Recent watcher of this show and I know people think they were toxic together but I think they should've definitely been end game. The only toxic thing about them was Peyton. If they couldve gotten away from that as they grew older, they wouldve been a great couple based on chemistry alone. I love them together.
I read once that they were always to be the endgame but when they got together and then separated and somewhat hated each other the writers saw it too much to make them work. So they just went with the Payton and Lucas idea.

I never saw chemistry between Lucas and Peyton. He even had more chemistry with Hailey than Peyton. I was always team Jake and Peyton. I think the writers initially were writing Lucas and Peyton to be together but saw a great love triangle once they saw the chemistry of Chad and Sophia and instead starting pushing them as them as this great love. But once everything ended the way it did with Chad and Sophia off-screen, they had to go back to writing for Lucas and Peyton again. Lucas and Peyton were BORING, like watching paint dry. I dislike these triangles in these TV shows, they always destroy the characters friendship on the show and usually the couple that ends up together is the wrong one (ex. Dawson's Creek). Yeah, i said it.....LOL!!!!

I personally liked Peyton because I related to her more (although Brooke was my fav) - because she was a loner and into art/music, and I feel like that influenced me a lot at the time. I don't think any of the characters on the show were perfect, but I felt like Peyton got way more hate than Lucas, even though he was the one always being a mess in his relationships.

I never shipped Brucas when I first watched OTH but now that some time has passed (I haven't watched the show in about 4 yrs), I can say safely say that these two were the superior ship to Leyton (Jeyton's still my favorite ship behind Naley). Sophia and Chad had amazing chemistry and that's what made Brucas work. Also, I can relate to both Brooke and Lucas now that I'm older as oppose to when I first watched the show. Lucas still is the *WORST* main character of the 5 for me but I get where he was coming from (not the cheating though, that's inexcusable)

The creator of the show was obsessed with Peyton. He always intended for Peyton and Lucas to end up together. I was team Brooke/Lucas.
There was a reason if Season 2/3 were the most loved and watched by viewers. No Leyton, just Brucas and Naley. The moment Brucas broke up because of Peyton, ratings dropped as well. There was never a real a competition for me. I loved the Brooke/Lucas chemistry since the first Season, the way they building up this relationship... it was special. Peyton was such a pain in the ass. Never liked her character. And the more they tried to conviced us that Leyton was meant to be the more I hated it because I don't like when writers has to tell me who's destined to be together. We have to feel it, not them.

I ship Leyton & brulian too but brucas were my OTP, s2 was actually the highest rated season of the show, there's a reason ratings dropped after s3, IMO ppl may not come out and say it but I think more shipped brucas or it was 50/50 because how do you explain the high ratings in the brucas seasons and I ship Leyton but their relationship in s4 was so forced, one minute he's fighting for Brooke then all of a sudden "it's you. TBE one I want standing next to me when all my dreams come true." JUST no. I can ship Leyton and see how forced they were in s4 AND also they needed stalkers AND shootings and near date rape to bring g them together while brucas didn't need any if that, it was just two ppl getting to know each other and developing a connection AND it felt so natural and genuine and organic and their chemistry was 1000000x more than Leyton. Hilarie said in an interview that it was originally supposed to be brucas + jeyton at the end.
They had chemistry through all the seasons Lucas was in. It wouldn't be a suprise if they like got together in season nine.

Yes, so true. It's all about the feels and we got it from Brucas from the beginning. She was what Lucas needed in life, fun, cute and goofy unlike Peyton who brooded, pushed people away and was a little dark, a bit like him. Brooke would have been so good for him, you could tell that he actually had fun when he was with her🙌

Wow, what a timing you have. I have JUST been rewatching season 3 of OTH and mourning this ship all over again. Should've been endgame. They had amazing chemistry & complemented each other in that perfect way. They had sparks & they had fire, while Leyton was just so lukewarm and boring. I loved how Lucas called Brooke "pretty girl" and how he kept saying he was the guy for her and then all of a sudden it was all gone? Not buying it. They were meant to be.
They broke up because of Chad's cheating and their divorce in real life. If he hadn't screwed up, they would have been together. She didn't want to kiss him in other seasons, that's why the plot had to be changed again with their break up.
They will always be the best couple of oth.
The timing of this showing up on my recommended videos when I am right in the middle of season 3 in my rewatch 😭 Lucas and Brooke were so in love and the superior couple (besides Naley ofc) it never made any sense that they aren't endgame.

Because she had the biggest heart, how can you hate people for being in love. Even with the betrayal, she realized she was far better than them both and showed that fact through her forgiveness. That’s why she’s an amazing character that will go down in history, biggest heart who came to know she deserved nothing but the best.💜
I think the whole psycho Derek coming back solidified her friendship with Peyton (I mean, they'd been friends a hell of a lot longer than she had with Lucas, so I kind of understood her forgiving her), but I wish they'd dealt with it a bit better.

This is so beautiful. Brucas will always be the best example for me of being totally ok if my otp didn't end up together because they were so beautifully written. I LOVE Leyton, and it was always clear the writers intended to have them end up together. But Brucas was an epic and unforgettable romance.

And she had the audacity to ask Brooke for her FORGIVENESS and that cycle happened many times. I'm just glad that Brooke found true happiness with Julian as that love triangle was just toxic from the beginning.

Recent watcher of this show and I know people think they were toxic together but I think they should've definitely been end game. The only toxic thing about them was Peyton. If they couldve gotten away from that as they grew older, they wouldve been a great couple based on chemistry alone. I love them together.

I never saw chemistry between Lucas and Peyton. He even had more chemistry with Hailey than Peyton. I was always team Jake and Peyton. I think the writers initially were writing Lucas and Peyton to be together but saw a great love triangle once they saw the chemistry of Chad and Sophia and instead starting pushing them as them as this great love. But once everything ended the way it did with Chad and Sophia off-screen, they had to go back to writing for Lucas and Peyton again. Lucas and Peyton were BORING, like watching paint dry. I dislike these triangles in these TV shows, they always destroy the characters friendship on the show and usually the couple that ends up together is the wrong one (ex. Dawson's Creek). Yeah, i said it.....LOL!!!!

I personally liked Peyton because I related to her more (although Brooke was my fav) - because she was a loner and into art/music, and I feel like that influenced me a lot at the time. I don't think any of the characters on the show were perfect, but I felt like Peyton got way more hate than Lucas, even though he was the one always being a mess in his relationships.

I never shipped Brucas when I first watched OTH but now that some time has passed (I haven't watched the show in about 4 yrs), I can say safely say that these two were the superior ship to Leyton (Jeyton's still my favorite ship behind Naley). Sophia and Chad had amazing chemistry and that's what made Brucas work. Also, I can relate to both Brooke and Lucas now that I'm older as oppose to when I first watched the show. Lucas still is the *WORST* main character of the 5 for me but I get where he was coming from (not the cheating though, that's inexcusable)
