Cybill brings up Bruce in interviews to this day! I think early on he had some feelings for her but he was more involved in his career. I think she still has feelings for him to this day, and definitely wanted him then! I just listened to a 2023 podcast interview of her and she said to this day she loves him and misses him.
I worked on the show. I did the pilot, the first 5 episodes (pilot and 5 aired winter of '85). Show did well. We got picked up. I then did the 1st full season. Then started the 2nd season. I could say so much. The stories about this show are incredulous. If the fans only knew the truth...
Moonlighting was must see for me as a teen. The first two seasons are the best and then the show was all over the place. Once they slept together, it kinda ruined the show.
I'll shorten the story. My wife and I were at the Barnstable (doublemint twins) Bown party in Louisville in 1993. Tony Curtis, Rod Stewart, Rachel Hunter, Ronnie Woods, Dixie Carter and I could go on. It was the night before the Kentucky Derby. Tuxes and long dresses. Band was great. John Goodman was singing and playing harmonica with the band. And Sybil walked in. Low cut, sequined, full length dress with a slit. She was with two other women, so not with a guy. She was directly in front of me, 20 feet away. I was the guy in high school that walked across the gym, shot down or not. I was 6'5" 220, in pretty good shape in a tux. The wife and I were big Moonlighting fans. I even asked, can I ask her to dance? I got a sure, but it was the sure that you get when you ask is anything wrong? So I didn't. Like everyone else I have some big regrets, things that if I could I would change. My biggest stupid regret is that I didn't make eye contact, walk across the room and ask her to dance. I still want to know what she would have said.
Wow! Shepherd's face has evolved to reflect her true personality. Even when young, she seemed to have a sarcastic, entitled and snipey (yes, snipery not snippy) way about her during interviews. Big deal, she WAS a model (when she started Moonlight). Her modeling career was in her teens and twenties. It was during an era when modeling companies were looking for a certain type (as they do in many eras).
I agree, i grew up watching the good show's in the 70's and 80's, and certain character's you could just tell were not a truly good person, i never liked cybil, like you said "snipey"!
Using your logic does that mean that Bruces brain (now with dementia) evolved to represent his idiotic, arrogance he had back then? You could always tell by his attitude during interviews. /s What kind stupid shit are you peddling. BTW, Sheppard had been actress with a fairly long career (since 1970 ) 13 years before Moonlighting. She was far more than a model by the time Moonlighting came around. She had a well-established acting career, one that was longer than and more successful than any of the other regulars on the series. Her career before Moonlighting included at least 11 movies among them were: The Last Picture Show (she was nominated for a Golden Globe), The Heartbreak Kid, Daisy Miller, At Long Last Love, Taxi Driver, The Lady Vanishes and her TV work prior to Moonlighting including a regular role on a soap opera series called The Yellow Rose and appearances on other shows like Fantasy Island and TV movies like Secrets of a Married Man.
@@robertjenkins5440 She is no such thing. What nonsense. Mr T always looked pugilistic, but that doesn't mean he uses his fists; Ryan O'Neal, on the other hand, who always looked boyish, however, did.
I loved Moonlighting!!! We would have watch parties at OSU. 😊 I always thought Cybil Shepherd felt like she was entitled and stuck up. Haven't watched a thing she's been in since.
I certainly don’t blame her for that. Cybill was a 17 year old kid when he cast her in The Last Picture Show, and only 18 when they “dated”. He was a 30 year old married man.
Bruce's comments about Cybill seem nicer than her comments about him. Maybe he saw it as a career opportunity whilst she was actually in love with him.
Bruce Willis in Die Hard is actually a favorite of mine but I actually couldn't watch the show, Moonlighting because I felt Cybill was emasculating to the Bruce Willis' character. I do not like emasculating women, (Bea Arthur, who was a Marine actually, is another one who like to put down others in a condescending way), but definitely Cybill Shephard had this attitude. Sarcastic and demeaning, like they really do not like men. It's certainly not my cup of tea as a female role model and I'm a woman. To each his own. Glad Bruce went on to be an American favorite in Die Hard.
@JustMe-uu3bh Psst! It's called acting. The character was like that to create sexual tension. This sort of male/female interaction on film/TV is in fact a male invention and is derived from Howard Hawks.

I’m so happy that Hulu is streaming the show.. I’m hooked all over again
I loved the first 3 seasons, but after that it took a serious change.
I still love it and watch Re-runs often! Bruce & Cybill are STILL my favorite screen couple!! It is my fav TV series, ever!! ❤️❤️🙌🙌
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?

Bruce, in later years, spoke very highly of Cybill. They became sort of a mutual admiration society.
I just finished Moonlighting a couple days ago, and I can definitely say that David Addison is Bruce Willis's best performance!
As a kid up I said I wanted to be David Addison when I grow up, not a detective.
Oh my, Bruce had me at Moonlighting and has been my favorite male actor. I named my first dog Maddie and a cockatoo Addison!
Cute ❤❤
Glad to know that you're a fan of Bruce and Moonlighting. In your opinion, what is the best episode of the show?

🐂💩'r ‼️
Were you in the costume/wardrobe department?
Moonlighting was must see for me as a teen. The first two seasons are the best and then the show was all over the place. Once they slept together, it kinda ruined the show.
"Do bears bare? Do bee's be?"
LOVED the Shakespere spoof.
I just watched the director talk about it: it was there most expensive and least watched episode!

She's actually very gorgeous. She still is in her 70's...

Why is Sean Hannity in the main picture when he has nothing to do with this interview ???
😂😂
Cibill Shepherd was previously involved (married) to Peter Bogdonovich, ending his marriage to Polly Platt.
Thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?

My two favorite episodes are The Son Also Rises(S3 EP 1) and Blonde on Blonde(S3 EP11).
Our favorites too, you've got taste! What other types of video would you like to see?

You're a true fan but wait, which episode appealed to you the most?
Bruce willis was the show
Not even close.
The Show wanted her .... she was well known since the 60s and 70s.... she wanted him for the part .... she helped make his career 😊
Willis is a wise-guy gunslinger off screen and on...I enjoy his movies once each...
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great week!
