His name is now Cole Cassidy. His old name is McCree, but unfortunately he was named after a dev who was part of a harassment controversy at Blizzard so they had to change it.
You should do the origin story for sigma as well, he’s my favorite character and a tank. He has a different styled origin story but still cool none the less. Love the reactions btw

It is the same character but Blizzard changed his name to Cole Cassidy, because Jesse McCree was the name of one of the executives that got fired due to sexual harassment and breast milk theft.
just some background for this short mccree (cassidy) and ashe were in the 'Deadlock gang' they were caught by overwatch and mccree had a choice of either to go to prison or work with overwatch he chose the latter and ashe felt betrayed by this also a fun fact mccree left to go get dva, phara and baptiste to join overwatch

I noticed you had a little confusion when she called him by his old name “Jessie Mcree”. But they are very much so the same character It’s really simple, they just changed his name. There was some controversy, blah blah his canon name now is Colt Cassidy. Just a renaming for the 2nd game

That doesn't separate the character from the person, if anything it creates a link where there originally wasn't. Renaming Jesse McCree just solidified his name change with something and someone that wasn't him.

I don't think she is bad, she just hates how the world is, is my guess. Got tired of family so made her own family.
