Nice job of explaining the difference in the starter gears Mark. I’m glad my 28 cubic inch B&S SOHC has metal gears. Thanks for your video!
It's nothing to replacing a starter gear takes me bout 5 minutes the hardest thing is finding a metal one .I have an arien 46 with a 20 hp intek and you cannot find a good one most I've found are cheap made plastic
Thank you Mark. Excellent job of explaining and videoing. Merry Christmas.
Good video with great explanations.
Glad it helped
Great job at thoroughly explaining these cranky starters. We have a JD D130 and have now replaced the starter once, and then we got smart & just replaced the small gear. Our problem….we never counted the original number of teeth on our starter. Is there a way to determine how many teeth a starter should have?
good vid , thanks . i like to clean and grease both bushings and shaft . sometimes it improves starter performance a lot .
Great point!
hello, great... where can I find the 16 teeth metal, in Briggs I only see plastic ? my flyweel It's metal ? thanks in advance
the plastic one is 16 the medal one is 14
@@lmsmallenginerepair4471 Thank you very much, I have just disassembled the original starter and despite the fact that the flyweel is made of steel, the starter has a plastic gear, I will try to look for some original Briggs as you comment, Thank you for your support.
