Story 1 if the wife is going to listen to the friend op need to have a talk with her otherwise their marriage will fall apart if the wife does not let go of such a toxic friend
Yeah, that last story- the family is the problem. Christmas is overrated and while I won't belittle anyone for enjoying it, but I have gotten to the point that it is just another day. They need to tell their family if that's how they feel they don't need to bother her nor her family anymore.
Agreed. Also that “I don’t care that you’re grieving” part is a massive red flag too. Someone’s mental health and wellbeing matter way more than a tree
Story 7: 😢sorry for your loss OP. Coincidentally, my maternal grandmother passed away too last Friday and now because of that and my future plans of moving back to my house(after two years of remodeling)I don’t need a Christmas tree this year either. ❤
Story 1: Yeah, this best "friend" is nothing of the sort and the wife is a complete dullard for listening to a single word here. Who cares about the age difference here? My parents were 10 years apart and they were married for almost 43 years when my dad passed 4 years ago. Honestly, if this "friend" doesn't back off, i would threaten to sue her for slander and defamation. See if that gets the point across. Story 2: Okay, the OP should've left this place the moment they were paying under minimum wage. Not sure where the OP is, but if they are in North America or a majority of Europe, they can easily get the labour board and/or taxman on this place. Now, as for "Smudge", i hate managers like this. Overly critical, overly territorial and just a pain in the ass to be around. As a cook of more then 20 years, i've always hated managers that valued speed over anything else.... even in the dish area. Can't get mad at the OP here for dropping things here.... especially if the OP tripped on something. Story 3: Yeah i can understand the OP's frustrations here. This isn't even a case of getting something last-second, or not knowing what to do get for the OP.. the OP's partner is just being lazy and rather inconsiderate. The fact that he's now trying to say the OP is 'entitled' here is just showing that he doesnt really care here. Doesn't sound like a good relationship here. Story 4: Yeah, customers like this are ignorant by choice. Some people do stuff like this just to cause problems. I've worked and eaten and many places like this one the OP is describing and its extremely annoying. If you really arent sure about something, then maybe you shouldn't order it, then get sore at the server or cook about it afterwards. Story 5: Yea i'd break up with this guy too. He's obviously lying about the wedding invite and he really could've handled everything a whole lot better here.... but chose not to. He could've declined the invite, re-scheduled the trip, literally anything else, but this is what he chose to do. Yeah, he's certainly not a winner. Story 6: No way is the OP a jerk here. If you choose or prioritize religion or any kind of beliefs over your own children/family, then you are a big jerk and should be cut out of their lives. If the family doesn't like it, then i would just tell them too bad so bad. I would've rejected that money as well and i wouldn't feel bad about it at all. Story 7: No way is the OP a jerk here..... and anybody against the OP here are massive jerks. 4 years ago i lost my dad less then 10 days before Christmas, and i now feel way less festive then i used to be. So i understand that the OP may not want to put up a tree up and celebrate without a specific loved one. Also, i'm guessing that this is likely a one-time thing.... so why is the family getting uptight here? If the OP's family is being this terrible here, then i would cut them all out of your life and your children's lives.
Last story I can relate to. My grandfather died Christmas day, my father died two days before Christmas. It hurts and it is hard with the kids. Give yourself time to grieve and heal ❤
The first story. The OP should convince his wife that the friend is trying to break up your marriage because she wants the wife to be just as lonely and miserable as the friend cause as they say misery loves company.
Story 1: Some of my exes are exes because they listened to a toxic friend or family member who turned them against me. It made me angry that they didn’t listen to my side of things, or even think for themselves which would have exonerated me and exposed their lying friend or family member. If the wife doesn’t believe OP or at least think for herself, then she doesn’t love him. OP should consider a harassment lawsuit as well as alienation of spousal affection and intentional infliction of emotional stress. Story 2: Nope. That manager and that business is setting OP up to fail. I especially hate “Smudge”, I’ve had so many scummy supervisors such as her. I never went above and beyond for businesses/companies such as this, especially when they have scum such as Smudge as supervisors. Story 3: The husband is entitled and spoiled, not OP. What a tacky and terrible gift to get OP for a birthday and anniversary present. It’s probably not even good such as Sur La Table. And why does he get a trip to Singapore, yet gives you a frying pan for OP’s birthday? Pfft! Show him the skinny side of the pan at high speed…💥🍳 Story 4: Why do they go to restaurants where they are not familiar with the cuisine or are too lazy to read the menus? 🙄 Story 5: He only cares about his dumb frat brothers. He ruined their international trip. Definitely break up with this jerk. I have broken up with a few exes who pulled this with me. Story 6: $2,000 measly bucks to reschedule a whole wedding!? That’s the dumbest offer I’ve heard yet! I despise religious fanatics. As it is, I find religion to be a ripoff, any “Sky Santa” or “Super Friends Deities Club” or Flying Spaghetti Monster or whatever might be in charge could care less about humanity. So why should we care? But if you want to believe, fine just don’t ruin things for everyone because of it. And in the case of this family, disinvite and ban them. They didn’t help and aren’t paying, yet want to ruin it. Story 7: I understand the grieving, been there. OP doesn’t deserve this sort of mental cruelty from the family. If they care so much, why aren’t they helping with Christmas for OP? Easy to judge than to help.
My narcissistic first husband gave me a blown up picture of me on a camel in Israel. I hated the picture to begin with, as I looked ridiculous, and the camel getting up from the ground, not a platform was terrifying. Maybe best to get away from this person before the op life was destroyed by the narcissist as mine was.
The first story: sounds like the best friend has the hots for OP and she is trying to break up his marriage in a pathetic attempt to swoop in. OP needs to put his foot down and talk to his wife about this, because this woman is clearly not a friend to OP’s wife.
For the international trip, I'd have gone on the trip without him. He wants to lie about an invitation he got weeks in advance, he can go to the wedding alone.
In story two I had a manager that was like this coworker. They think they’re gonna bully everybody and get their way. Story 3 I would be livid . I did once receive a vacuum cleaner as a gift from My then spouse.
HOW?!! THAT FOOL IS A GASLIGHTING, SELFISH PARASITE!!! HE DOESN’T SEE OP AS AN EQUAL PARTNER IN THE RELATIONSHIP AND DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN THE HOUSE!!

Tell her to stop listening to her friend that she is stupid for telling her that 🙄
Bet the toxic friend is jealous and single...
Story with the pan. Get him a weed eater for his birthday and a lawnmower for your anniversary.
Story 1 if the wife is going to listen to the friend op need to have a talk with her otherwise their marriage will fall apart if the wife does not let go of such a toxic friend
First story the wife needs to tell her friend to stay out of our business. Not a friend

I respect your opinion but I adore Christmas thank you for not being a Scrooge and forcing people to hate the holiday!
Story 6: What exactly IS the OP’s family’s religion?
10 years isn't a big deal. When my dad was 32, he dated a 42 year old woman.
yeah, it can get weird. So yeah, it is a big deal. 😅
Imagine being 17 years old, dating a 27 year old…
@@WendyRockstar I am of course assuming everyone is 18+
@ Nah. I’m 15.
@@WendyRockstar Then what I'm saying does not apply to you.
@ I still don’t care. I find it a bit weird still. 😅

Smudge was hilarious for a nickname for that lady 😂
Good job for the marriage and kids
Story 1: Give the wife an ultimatum, either ditch the friend or divorce.

Wedding story: if she's seen the invite why would she agree to book a vacation on that week? "Aren't you invited to a wedding on that week?"
In the third story op needs to break up with her thoughtless boyfriend
He still young but hes having his best life i wish him well
I just noticed this is a new one
4 minutes in
12:55 women hate that men are happy. And don't want them to be happy and only spend time on them. So yes the op is the jerk
Story #7 hit me hard I just lost my grandma 12/16 so this j truly understand
