    I just purchased a thermador 6 burner pro range with the ultra low burner settings. Ordered in August, arrived in May $12,000.00. The two middle burners were adjusted by the installers however they will not adjust the other four burners. Apparently the iris “I’m probably saying that wrong” is so sensitive that it short circuits the board and it then needs to be replaced. In addition, I purchased an extended 5 year warranty. I went back to the appliance store where purchased and they scheduled the repair guy to come out and look at it. Repair guy says that he is not taking on the liability of adjusting the flames due to the costs of potentially damaging the board and electronics. 4 of my 6 burners only have high and medium flame. Yes they cycle on and off but it’s still at a medium flame. They sold me on being able to melt chocolate chips on a paper plate using the ultra low on/off setting……. Not on those 4 burners. I don’t know what to do…any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Interested in the current PCG366 version of this rangetop...is there a way to just convert the XLO burners to simple low burners without the on/off to reduce the chances of problems? This unit hits my every need but trying to simplify it since Therm parts are apparently more finite than the competition

    Thanks for video bearded
    Could you do all testing without swap ? Just with millimeter ? Is it possible just to place probes or multimeter would not pick up anything? Thanks

    Great video! What tools are needed to unscrew the burner screws? Having trouble with getting the burner base released.

      They were torque bits in this video. the older versions use like a 15/16 socket I believe. Don't strip it though. They can be a pain to get out after that. you may need some rust buster to help get it off.

      @@BeardedApplianceRepair Thanks! I'll probably have to try the rust buster

      With the 15/16” version there is a hole in the middle. If you do strip it out I was able to get them out with this tool here. www.lowes.com/pd/IRWIN-Hanson-10-Piece-Spiral-Screw-Extractor-and-Drill-Bit-Combo-Pack/1003018224
      The largest one of them. Luckily I had the kit on the truck. Worked like a charm, pick those up if you need them.

      @@BeardedApplianceRepair For the older units (I have one) you need a 20mm 6 sided socket. The Venturi tubes unscrew anticlockwise and they are very very tight and so put a few drops of any screw release agent (WD-40, Kroil, etc) and let it sit for a few hours and then pour a couple of drops again just before you try to unscrew it. Make sure you are absolutely square and may need a long breaker bar to break it but since they are soft copper they tend to round out the top part of the nut - so go slow and don't rush it.

    Does the simmer work on electricity? So if the simmer is on and the electricity goes out, will the shut off? If that's true, will the gas still be on?

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  3 года назад

      The burners with the x-low sim work with a solenoid yes. If power goes off the solenoids will close. This is when it’s on high or low, it uses that solenoid for normal operation. I have seen these where the burner won’t work at all and the issues was the solenoid.
      If powers goes out during cooking those burners with the solenoid should go out. You can test the theory by unplugging your cooktop while it is running those burners

    Can the flame height be adjusted on the intermittent burners? I could adjust the others but not the intermittent which are too high.

    • @hanamank5763
      @hanamank5763 7 месяцев назад

      Did you find the answer, I am in dire need to adjust the flame height on the middle burner which is very low, where in fact since it is the largest burner, it should be the highest flame height to boil for example water in the quickest time.

      @@hanamank5763I was asking about the burners on the left that automatically go on and off. They were not adjustable. I find the other burners are lower on simmer than the intermittent burners. I'm not sure how to make one go higher.

    I recently bought one of these. What is the best way to clean it? Hot soapy water doesn’t work on grease. Thank you

    • @MichaelLee-bz6ml
      @MichaelLee-bz6ml 4 года назад

      Try SuperClean on stubborn stains. It worked well for me. For old burned on stains (black), pretty much need to a hard tool and scrub.

    • @hanamank5763
      @hanamank5763 7 месяцев назад

      I use hot white vinegar and lots of baking soda , make a thick paste and leave on the grease stain according to how tough the burn stain is along with also few drops of concentrated dawn . Wipe clean with hot water. That usually takes care of the problem. But the bust is to watch the food while cooking, so no major burn stain to deal with later.
