I’m actually running 2 of these PB80 clutches. 1 on a zr7000 1049 triple 4 stroke and the other on a xf9000 998 turbo. I will say they have been smooth as silk. They really preform and have been completely trouble free!
Based on watching you put the CV clutch in white night two years ago I bought one for my '11 crossfire 800. I love it! no more spinning the track on the trailer with the "rough" engagement. Easy to adjust, but came pre-set to my specific sled, bounced up and down but came back to how they sent it to me. Couldn't be happier, thank you for leading me to it!
My dad had just put one on his m1000 before a trip to island park and you are spot on. The engagement is crazy going from post and fly weights. It’s literally buttery smooth and the clutch worked great!
I am still running the AC clutch, changed spring to a Dalton Blue Grey spring and it has changed the wear and tear on Cat clutch. Now had nice engagement like a Team clutch. No wear on rollers or weights. $35 fix
Hey Matt awesome review on the cvtech primary.. I’m currently thinking about doing an install on my xf1100 2stage turbo..love the videos of you and the gang rippin keep it up
Just got mine 2 weeks ago love it but I have a good question 🤔 how do you put a rope on the clutch to start it if pull cord and or electric start is broken???? 🤔
Hey all , and Mr Syxxes..... Any one had the rubber attached to the cover come apart and parts of it come out? Found pieces in the belly pan and finally figured out where they came from. Only 200 miles on it. Sure it would cause an out of balance condition and probably do the crank bearing no good. The little screws on the cover hold a rubber dampener or something to the cover at the base. Has this been a problem? Tightened down to tight at the factory? What is the purpose of the rubber?
@ I was able to get a new cover assembly through the eBay seller. Working across the boarder with manufacture for warranty didn’t work. So go through seller. Only concern is slight out of balance issue possibly because clutch not balanced as an assembly.
Interesting clutch there. I have a few cats one is a 2010 ext Z1 turbo with 300 hp tune. I run it on the 240 tune mostly though. Blew belts like crazy at first. Had to cut about 1/4 inch off back side of secondary to align clutches. Now it runs flawlessly had to do my own clutching. Use to clunk really bad so i put a 125-340 I believe spring rate in the primary. Anyway no more clunk engagement clutching is probably about perfect. Might try that that cvt tech clutch. Have a stm secondary already to try. Stm primary is lot of money so idk. But anyhow great video Thank u
I need some help, i bought one cheaper real quick on ebay well its for a skidoo and i got a 2014 artic cat m8000 my bolt just doesn't reach, thought i just needed a new bolt but mayeb this things weighted wrong too
You can also fine tune one of those shim weights with a drill bit, say if you find that taking one out is too light but put it back in and its too heavy. Can make a differece with just a little taken out.
put one on the other day got 3 rides on it and under heavy back shifting cause my secondary bolt to back out...not to sure whats going on maybe its more secondary but i've red lock tighten my secondary bolt in and will still do it. Last time it happened i helied my sled and and now need a secondary and jack shaft(stripped the splines)
awesome. I put one on an 1160 cat twin and it worked very well. I would suggest a stiffer spring and leave the weights. Its nice to get more weight on those Suzuki 800s they like it.
I talked with Matt from MCB performance about the PB-80 on my T-cat and he said they have more that a few with tunes and they have been fine. He also said its a great clutch, its quiet, it runs cool, but don't ever take your side panel off because its as ugly as sin when your buddies ask why your sled is running so great.
Will you do a review on the pb80 on a 18+ ctec2 cat? And how did you hold it to get the nut torqued to 110ftlbs? The clutch holding tool? Also are there different springs you can get that change engagement? I'm thinking about throwing one on my 18 ascender. They are all the same right? A pb80 for a 2017 m8000 would probably be the correct pb80 and I just need the belt tension bolt from a 2017 secondary right? Mcb has the pb80 for a 18 but they want $500 more then I can get a pb80 from a 2017 m8000 for but it's the same one I am assuming. I will just need to play with my weights to get in the correct rpm range. It would be great if you would do it on your alpha for all us cat guys trying to figure it out.
I waited all summer two years ago, just kept checking stock levels and jumped on it when they had one...worth the wait! have 2K miles on since I bought it, working just as good as the first time I hit the loud flapper after install.
Does this clutch move in and out without spring tension? I just bought a 2015 skidoo summit with one of these clutches on it. The sheaves go back-and-forth with the belt off by hand.
I see them available on Ebay from Motorhead zone. Not sure what they mean by precalibrated. Are they just doing weights or maybe a spring??? Have a question in to them. '10 M8 HCR 153" 3-6K elevation.
Thanks for this video i want to change mine out on the 14 snow pro 8000 but wasnt sure which one it was.. does it come with instuctions on how much weight to put in for the altitude you ride in ?
What’s your opinion on the pre 2016 arctic cat clutches? Can’t get a cv tech clutch for 2014 El Tigré 6000. Is it worth getting a clutch kit for these old bricks?
Anybody running this clutch, did it solve the problem of the sled in reverse ? I have a 2013 F800RR when I put the sled into reverse it binds up the only way it works is to get off the sled. I did a Google search and it seems like a pretty common problem with this sled .
Matt I wanted to ask your expertise on something. I just ordered my son a 24 arctic cat blast M4000. What upgrades should I be doing to that alpha rail to make sure this sled lasts through my kids growing up? Thanks for your help. Love your crew and content you guys are awesome!
First of all I will say I really enjoy watching your videos they're very informative. I have a question for you if you are able to help me? I recently just put a power block 80 clutch on my son's 2013 Arctic Cat 800. I kind of just based it off of what you were doing because I'm tired of buying cat clutches LOL. I need some assistance if you can give it to me regarding you the weights that you used. His sled came with 67's originally on the factory clutch. The power block comes with 12 weights and they are telling me they are 5.5 Oz per weight which would give me 66 total. The most we can get out of it right now is 7400 RPM. I know by watching your video I believe that you ended up with 10 weights which would give you 55 Oz. And you were topping out at 8150 RPM. I just wondered if you stayed with that weight ratio and how it worked for you since you're sledding his letter almost identical. We live in Kamloops and we are usually riding around 5,000 to 8,000 elevation. Thank you
How much power can that clutch Handel? Can I install something like that on my 300hp turbo? 2016zr9000? I’m always worried about the primary I hear of them exploding in messing peoples feet up. :(
I don't know how the PB80s are on the Cats but on the Ski Doo 4 strokes, I know they are hard on belts, they build up alot of heat. Easy maintenance and a good shifting clutch but many people replace the belts every year just as a preemptive maintenance
If your blowing belts then maybe try to add some weight to the primary, my guess is they are running hot. Also make sure alignment and deflection is correct.
I just put one on my older ZR 600 and what a difference. I did find out that my clutch was calibrated heavy when I installed it too. I plan on putting one on my 18’ XF 8 to smooth out the bottom end between 0-25mph. I plan on making a few videos on this clutch too.

CVTech has been used for a long time in Québec on trail sleds and everyone love them. Glad to see it has been good for you too!
My dad had just put one on his m1000 before a trip to island park and you are spot on. The engagement is crazy going from post and fly weights. It’s literally buttery smooth and the clutch worked great!
Does anyone know if CV Tech makes a PB clutch for the newer Team primary's with the idle bearing on the stationary sleeve?
I am still running the AC clutch, changed spring to a Dalton Blue Grey spring and it has changed the wear and tear on Cat clutch.
Now had nice engagement like a Team clutch. No wear on rollers or weights. $35 fix
Except the spiders break all the time..
the best clutch out there... !!!!!! have one with 4500ish km on it.
Those new polaris's been blowing up clutches left and right. Im on my second clutch on ole 2012 proclimb so I know the struggle.
Hey Matt awesome review on the cvtech primary.. I’m currently thinking about doing an install on my xf1100 2stage turbo..love the videos of you and the gang rippin keep it up
Great video Matt, my m1100 is in the shop right now getting the clutch fixed again.
Installed the PB80 on my Bearcat Z1 XT, very impressed with it.

Same problem,
Is there a sight to buy them? Can't find them only full cover.

Excellent video! Thank you
Any suggestion for seconday clutch for m8 2010 ? Thnx

What puller do I need? I got a 2014 m8000 snow pro limited 153 with the powerblock 80
I just use the factory cat puller, but I had to shave down a collar on it so it would work. Pretty sure cv tech has their own.
If only they could produce enough to meet demand.
My buddy has been trying to find one for over a year for his m8000
I waited all summer two years ago, just kept checking stock levels and jumped on it when they had one...worth the wait! have 2K miles on since I bought it, working just as good as the first time I hit the loud flapper after install.
@@matthewlochmann9765привет Мэтт. Сколько на сегодняшний день прошёл миль, твой PB 80?
Have this clutch in my 2013 F800 TH and love it. Why not remove the ring weight for a lighter clutch and quicker response?
Quite possible that is on the clutch to help with crankshaft harmonics.
@@SuperBigdanno I thought that as well but CV Tech said it was not required and just adds rotational weight.
Does this clutch move in and out without spring tension? I just bought a 2015 skidoo summit with one of these clutches on it. The sheaves go back-and-forth with the belt off by hand.

where can I get a primary clutch for a 2007 skidoo summit x
Hello, so when you first installed the PB80 did you use the same alignment bar and specs from Arctic Cat?
Matt I wanted to ask your expertise on something. I just ordered my son a 24 arctic cat blast M4000. What upgrades should I be doing to that alpha rail to make sure this sled lasts through my kids growing up? Thanks for your help. Love your crew and content you guys are awesome!
hi Matt nice video i have a 2014 sno pro 500 cat will this cvtech fit and if i buy one does it come balanced?
Will the Powerbloc clutch fit the new AC Catalyst..?
What spring are you running and what rpm does it engage at?
I put one on my rzr. Works awesome
Helpful vid. Been looking to buy a CVtech for my 2012 m8. Can’t find one.Any tips would be appreciated

Awesome seems like a great clutch really sucks you get so little out of arctic clutch
Ordered one for 800 pro rmk to try
My PB80 seems to run hot, it would burn your hand to touch it after about ten minutes 20 minutes of riding.
Add some weight or a lighter spring. This is of course as long as all other components in the sled are all good.
How much power can that clutch Handel? Can I install something like that on my 300hp turbo? 2016zr9000? I’m always worried about the primary I hear of them exploding in messing peoples feet up. :(
they really only say they will go to around 280-290 hp over that TAPP or SMT would be the go to
Ordered a catalyst M today
Skidoo issues right now r crazy chain case
I don't know how the PB80s are on the Cats but on the Ski Doo 4 strokes, I know they are hard on belts, they build up alot of heat.

First 🤘🏼
You busted a belt a week before this video ? Clutch not good then or aligned. Should not be busting belts
Fact…a PB80 on a skidoo 850 will shatter the spring cup if ur running 6500-7500rpm routinely…cost me a 185$ taxi ride
Same clutch on a 1200 ran 8700 miles zero issue
Best upgrade to give a arctic cat is to trade it in for a skidoo 😁
Ski-dont...
😂
only if you want to have even more belt issues
Skipoo?! Lol ya no
love the vids, you should bring back the trikes🤣🤘
