SafetyWing (best for younger travelers + digital nomads): safetywing.com?referenceID=alinamcleod&Ambassador
I use both of these companies depending on the destination and requirements of entry. If you are going to be abroad for a long time and/or don't need as much coverage, I would recommend SafetyWing. BUT you cannot purchase SafetyWing WHILE in Canada or USA. You can only purchase once already abroad. Hey Mondo is more expensive but offers a higher level of coverage including plans that have trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Hey Mondo would be the better insurance to use if you need travel medical insurance when applying for a visa. Both companies cover covid. I am an affiliate for both companies, but I pay for my own policies.

When you travel the 401 from Windsor to Toronto, the monotony of the four hour drive is broken up by Tim Hortons. Nice way to take a break and stretch your legs. Being Canadian myself, I just love that ubiquitous institution and Canada wouldn’t be the same without it!

The geese like swans are very territorial in the spring when finding a place to raise their young. They gradually get less aggressive as the young grow and learn to fly. In the fall and winter they gather into flocks for migration. Next spring the pairs will go their own way again but for now they are a flock not a family

I live in Niagara falls, close enough to see all the hotel, tower lights from my windows and can hear the constant noise of the falls rumbling at night. I jog that walkway everyday and it's one of the true blessings in my life. Glad you guys had fun! Always thrilled to see someone enjoy and not shit on the place as clifton hill and Victoria ave are a little cheesy, but that's what makes it fun to me. Driving past all this everyday for my everyday needs is a blessing. Next time you visit, free parking on me! Lol thanks guys!

Don't knock Vegas. I don't gamble or drink, but Vegas has the highest density of world class restaurants anywhere on the planet, and maybe the best people watching too. I go there a couple of times a year and always have a blast. Airfare, hotels and restaurants are all kind of subsidized by the casinos, so it's typically a bargain.

I went to a Hooters once before. It was on the request of my US Army cousin who came back from Iraq to attend a funeral for one of my uncles and I was driving him back to the airport. I was so underwhelmed. I rarely drink and I was driving, so I wasn't indulging. The food wasn't anything to write home about. And the waitresses did nothing for me. I always joked, "We must have went on ugly Tuesday." I don't get the draw to Hooters, maybe Canada has better ones. Ooh, poutine, very Canadian, I want to try it some day. Great video, watch out for those geese. Good thing for you they were the Canadian ones. Everyone know the Canadian geese are much nicer than the American variety.

Fun Fact : At 3:28 they are walking past a small stone structure overlooking the American Falls that was transformed into a cottage for the 1950's movie classic " Niagara " starring Marilyn Monroe, Joseph Cotton and Jean Peters (second wife of Howard Hughes). The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is lots better than the American side. We Americans always go to the Canadian side. Also, Alina and Ryan should have eaten at the nice restaurant on the Canadian side that has a great view of the Falls and has so much better food than Hooters. Lots of Hooters in the States went out of business except in the South. Their food is really greasy and not healthy.

Niagara - the falls - is a very magical place! The white noise emanating from all that water, thundering down into the canyon, is truly relaxing to listen to from a distance, and even terrifying if you are very close! Mother Nature’s raw power is incredible. I’ve been there, and would love to go again.
Let’s face it, Ryan (and guys): Alina is a truly remarkable constellation of intellect, beauty, world cuisine experience, refinements, feelings, bravery and curiosity, and sensitivities. When she asks your opinion about a wine, or food, I totally get why one, in reverence to her complexity as a female creature, wouldn’t simply defer by saying “I like what you like; I agree!”, even if secretly you don’t know even what to say, LOL. Confidence can be sexy!
Speaking of, whose idea was it to go to Hooters? I would not have thought it was Ryan’s pick, but maybe he just likes the beer and wings? The scenery is definitely directed toward those who prefer the female form, if you know what I mean. At any rate, I’m glad to know that Alina and Ryan are great friends (even though they are not 100% compatible, I take it, by Ryan’s open confession).
Love to both of you! And thanks for bearing my “tongue in cheek” comments. It would be my pleasure to dine at another fine chain food store (like Mickey D’s) with you, sometime! 😂😋🥰

Its been ages since I was there with my ex. The one thing you learn quickly enough is the American side of the Niagara Falls isn’t worth crossing the border. The best views are all on the Canadian side. It should be added the best thing about the region in my opinion is the Skylon restaurant. From the rotating tower the 360 degrees are worth it and the meals are absolutely delicious! Its the best way to see everything when you’re visiting the Niagara Falls.

Yes, the views are better on the Canadian side. There's a statue to Tesla on the American side but little else. Does it still cost a quarter to walk across the bridge?

Blew coffee through my nose, when your Hooter waitress (aka "server") asked if you wanted Balsamic on your tossed salad.
After throwing back a few complex crafted wines into the mix of Tim Horton's and Hooters, the only way I could imagine you and Ryan remaining buds, would be by driving back to T town with the windows cracked.

Not a lot of casinos in southern Ontario? Lol... Orillia, Windsor, Brantford, Ajax, London, Port Perry, Pickering, Bellville... I could go on and on

Windsor is nicer than Detroit. My favorite thing about it is the tunnel. Once you’re through, you’re in Canada! I’m not one for gambling and the house keeps your bets.

Great video Alina, brings back a lot of memories when my friends and I would drive down to Niagara Falls on a weekend, you walked in the very same spots we did, amazing. Their used to be a great place called Stoney Creek Dairy (many years ago) we used to stop into for some home made ice cream cones, the best. Thanks for a Blast from the Past (for myself) Alina it sure has changed, well done. :) NC

Oh, I never knew Canada is producing a good wine. The only thing I knew is that the Vikings when they first came to American continent, they called one place they discovered Vinland (now southern part of Newfoundland) due to grape which was growing out there. And, yes, Niagara falls looks majestic!
