lemme quickly explain: there are four main levels of bars.
level 1: these are the bars that are most often picked up by american reaction youtubers. they use similes to liken things to each other, but lack any meaning.
an example is 'way before they had a moustache like stalin'. stalin has no relevance in the song, and only serves as a comparison.
level 1.5: these are similar to level 1, but feature more development in the comparison, to make the 'bar' aspect even more emphasised e.g 'your man is a fraud, your boyfriends living a lie, ur kinda like rachel zane'.
level 2: same as level one but uses words that sound the same but have different meanings to force the listener to make a connection e.g 'everything shake (sheik) no saudi.
level 3: these bars are embedded, thus making the listener unprepared for the bar, making it even more effective- they do not require 'like or as'. additionally, the flow cannot change before the bar is mentioned, as this prepares the listener. an example of this is 'you're a gem and i aint even talking bout the star sign'
level 4 bars must contain at least 3 meanings, have a consistent flow, and the listener must be unprepared for the bar. an example of this is 'my young g done draws and eights now hes cutting through bricks like the 118'. This contains four meanings; the 118 going through brixton, the 118 crashing into a house, the young g doing draws (e.g 1-1) and eights, and the young g cutting through bricks (doing drugs.
