born and raised st pete/pinellas area. tampa bay area seems relatively ok so far, gonna be keeping an eye on this track tomorrow but so far looks like fairly standard wind and rains. some flooding in the lower areas.
Doesn't everyone realize that _real_ hurricane season is like August 22 to October 10 every year, as far as the most active tropical storms? I'll be back but I bet there will be 21 named storms by those dates. Whether hurricane or tropical storms regardless if they hit land or not.
In summary…. Lots of rain and wind that may or may not have an impact. Or maybe not a lot of rain or wind. It depends on whether or not the the weather does weather things.
Bring it on! I love hurricanes - of course when they aren't destructive. Growing up in Florida I would take a hurricane over a tornado or earthquake. Though tornados are possible. The joys of being a Floridian, growing up in a state where this happens often. Stay safe everyone!
This is doing exactly what happened even last time in the TPBA. The rain splits into small south to north bands near us. Barely actualizes, and causes small quick storms that happen over the course of days... especially in St. Pete. It's gonna be slight scattered the entire time, maybe we'll get some "gusty" 25 MPH winds. Which is nothing during literally even a rain storm from up east haha. This shit is such a huge show at this point, no hurricane, just leave it alone for us. Let the people in the panhandle deal with it.
On the Jersey Shore and in Upstate NY, you can get "tropical storm" force winds in a regular thunderstorm. Here we consider 25mph winds like they're the end of the world. We used to get thunderstorms/snow storms that had 70-80mph winds, and it was basically like nothing happened. This is so over exaggerated besides the surge. And even then goddamn.
thank you for update the strom
we need more of these meteorologists... great job explaining

Yes indeed mmmmm
Praying for my daughter and grandkids who live in Tampa Florida 🙏🙏. And everyone in the path of this
