How much does a contractor charge typically for moving one side of the slat?

Just a idea for the future when your working on the sides instead of just getting bucket fulls and dumping them in the middle start from the back of the house and stat pushing with around 1/4 to 1/2 your bucket it will push a lot more then when you just pick it up with the bucket and it also makes it easier on the guy loading his truck up from not having to go all the way down in the chicken houses

Nice! Sure wish my slats were that wide. Mine are 4’. Makes for a lot of turns.

Thanks for the reply. I traded off my ssv75 for a svl65 and have yet to gone through a cleanout. Just hope I can swing them as good as I could with the wheeled skid.

John M if u have concrete centers, leave a good bit of litter on the ground... helps the tracks have something to slide on and twist and turn easier.

Yep! That’s the same method we use on wheel skids. There is money to be made in breeder clean outs as many don’t want to mess with them around here. We’ve been doing our own since the beginning (1990). I look forward to getting the svl65 dirty. I usually rent a 95 to help out my old ssv75.

What slat mover is that? Also would it work good with the newer style plastic slats?

Not sure. It’s home made. I borrowed it from another farmer.

Seems when moving those slat sections from one side to the other that they could be dropped over a scrubber in the center aisle. Moved back and forth to knock off the poo and then set down on the other side.
Just seems that way, but don't know for sure as it may just be a bone-head suggestion..
Watched a video this morning of a poultry house cleaning machine, and looks like it could help your operation.

Wouldn’t work in hen houses also all the litter has to be removed.
