2020 Kubota SVL95
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.3 года назад
this is a kind of broken video and doesn't show the end result with seed and straw but it still shows the Kubota pushing dirt off the hill. Showing the equipment work is always my focus and not necessarily the "how to" of the job. some people get confused on that but thanks for watching!
Skid Steer Operator- A Week in the Life

This was one week I tried to film each job before and after to show what had been done. I also wanted to show a little bit of what its like running a business and having to go from place to place. As you can see sometimes its a lot of driving!

How to Make a Food Plot for Deer Hunting
I'm giving you a nice job done. Don't worry so much about stripping off the topsoil since you used the right type of fabric. It's a parking spot not a traveled frequently road or driveway.
Can you tell me how many yards you spread here? 🍻
I understand it’s not the fanciest job, and you did exactly what was asked. I’m wondering, how does it look today? I’m thinking of using a gravel grid over the weed barrier, to make an RV pad. Thank you for the video!
Hello there! thanks for your video! I am trying to figure out how to make my own additional parking pad for visitors on the side of my driveway, but it has grass, dirt and rocks and is sloping downwards. Curious, why'd you use crossties instead of blocks? i would need to do some kind of small retaining wall but was thinking blocks. Just trying to do it myself and save some money. Any advice is welcome! Thanks!
@@bellacity01 because this is all the homeowner wanted at that time.
I've a 65 and charge $150.00/hre can. Like you I prefer small project, 2 days max so I can enjoy my retirement.
@@Pierre-b8w absolutely, that video was 5 years ago and we all know a lot has changed in 5 years!!
Clean svl for that much hours
@@Pierre-b8w 500 is almost new. One I have now has 2100 hrs and just as clean
Why not dump the load of gravel further back so you don't have to move it so far?
Bc there were power lines overhead and truck couldn’t dump.
Sometimes you have to turn these jobs down if the homeowner doesn't want to pay to do it right. Not worth the damage to your reputation when, not if, that bit of work fails.
It’s been there for 5 years now with a 35’ fifthwheel parked in it so.
Dude. This is bad man. Not trying to be a hater but you just destroyed that guys yard. My soul actually hurts after seeing this.
@bigp6071 Brother I’m not sure if you noticed but this was 5 years ago and also I discussed with the home owner the risks of backing a 60,000 lb dump truck over a concrete driveway and busting the concrete all to heck. The owner SAID, “I’d rather you back in my yard because I can fix that RATHER than break my concrete driveway.” Also the main power lines were over head from the concrete which means the dump truck couldn’t raise his bed to dump if he were to have backed in the concrete driveway so the only option on this job was to back in the guys yard and he was cool with that. Let me handle my jobs. Yes that was 5 years ago and I was just starting out and things have come a long way since then.
Glad things are going well for you. I was more talking about the bad work. Not so much the ground damage. But that was def from you not the truck. Those marks are from you when you were moving the rocks around. Have a great day.
@@bigp6071 you have a good day too. But sometimes machines make marks in ppls yards. It’s easy to use a rake and smooth it back out but sometimes I don’t point my phone at it and show it. The video is mainly to show my brand new machine working. I am hiring my 7th employee if you’d like an application for a rake boy. Confirmed the area you’re upset about is where the truck backed in and I smoothed it back out with the machine so idk what to tell you
@@cameronward7137no hard feeling man. Glad to hear your business is thriving. Wish you nothing but the best.
Show us a video of your work.
Interesting
Buddy that was 5 years ago so none of that is accurate
How much does a contractor charge typically for moving one side of the slat?
Get ready for tomorrow ??you better fix my damn yard today!!
Yes got that thank you watched
I enjoyed going to each of your projects. I love the skid steer and all it can do. Share more,,,
I seen a Dixie chopper 3000 and was a big mower and first one I have seen and how dose it do in wet grass
i want to cover a small garden 21' x 12' can i just put a fabric down with 4'' stone cover. we dont use the area so no traffice
This is a very coarse and bad job
Ok what would make it better for you ?
Compacting the gravel, for example. Your wooden parameters were not constructed well as well. @@cameronward7137
What fabric did you use ?
Invisible fabric
You did a great job. Can you come to myself now? I've got the bobcat. Just lack the know how, lol! But I'm gonna give it a try. You made it look easy!❤️
Didn’t know if you were still in the business glad to see a video
Oh yes very busy. Just not really into making videos on job sites
I like the dark gravel. What kind is beibg used?
what do you think of the dt466 what power spec hp and tq is that truck? i bought a 2008 7400 workforce and with emissions it was terrible i think you go the last year with no emissions correct? heck of a nice looking set up congrats
This is the last year before the maxxforce. It has an egr but I’ve read it doesn’t really cause any problems. I can get it deleted for $1k. Mine is 300hp and I bought a programmer for 30% more power. So maybe realistically I’m at 350ish. I wish it had maybe a 10l cummins but I can’t really complain.
@@cameronward7137 nice I also have a 1995 AEROMAX l9000 w the L10 cummins. But it's a single axle and helpless in even grass. Does yours have a locker?
@@tcmoney1321 it has power divider but not full lockers. Yes if I’m empty it will literally get stuck on dry pavement if it’s the least bit unlevel. I thought the air ride would flex more but apparently not. I think the walking beam is the best for off road and flexing . As far as power, if I ever delete the egr I’d like to see what’s the maximum I can have to turned up to safely with the computer. They detune trucks like this so much from the factory they’re dangerous to drive loaded sometimes. That’s how my single axle f750 dump truck is. It’s got a 3126 cat amd allison auto and if I have 5 tons or more in it I have to put flashers on and say a prayer on the slightest hill.
Love the sound and the spreading of gravel!
I have watched your videos, and I have a lot of interest in a set up like this. How much does the bare bones truck weigh? And what’s the max payload you can put on I’ve been trying to do my research really haven’t gotten a solid answer. Thank you!
Love this video! Love the soil conditioner and the spreading of material by the skidsteer... it is relaxing to both see and hear! Anymore like this?
Tyto repair
Use 57 stone at the bottom (spaghetti strainer for drainage) then a medium size crush and run with lye (it's will compact and the lye is a weed barrier) then last 2-3 inches a stone dust (easy grading for level and it will provide great compaction and even better weed barrier) Thanks!
But always always wet the base and compact every 2 inches or so
Nice work You might being accessory to what this cop is burying. Strange and Stupid to leave all this trash on you own property.
Looks good... need more sound!
I would not use this video as a marketing tool. And, as a landscaper, I would recommend to the homeowner that they make you fix the lawn. Quality workmanship is #1. You CAN do budget AND quality.
It’s not a marketing tool. It’s just a video from 4 years ago of me using my new machine
@@cameronward7137 If you're a business owner and you post a video about a job you do, it's a marketing tool.
@@marykalencik4094 oh ok. Please refer back to pinned comment at the top.
How dusty is this and how bad will it track inside your rv if this is your temporary home
Where you at bud don't give up
Working!!! No time for videos
Could a person do it by hand rather than using the machinery to spread the rock?
Where ya been Cam how is the business?
I drive a skid for my work in a green house but I'm kinda curious about doing it full time, any suggestions and where to start?
First thing is make sure you have steady work lined up. People think buying the machine is the hard part when that’s actually the easy part. Keeping steady work coming in is the real challenge. Marketing your business and showing ppl what you can do and what you have to offer is key! Good luck!
Do work... Nice job. Thanks
I’ve been building highways for 57 years and this is one of the best jobs I’ve seen!
If I were building interstate highways I wouldn’t have done it this way and I would hope that I would be paid more for a highway.
Badass
Does your machine have the high flow option for the AUX hydraulics?
I like to see a man thats not lazy. Good job of hand pumping that diesel fuel. Who needs electric pump
Thanks for the video! It's amazing how you handle the machinery and do such an exquisite job. May I suggest you shoot the front view of this so novice like me can figure out how you dump and grade while backing out. Thanks for the awesome job!

How much it weigh
Question how much are you charging now since diesel went up ????
A lot more than when this video was made !
Thanks Cameron. A question. I am planning to rent a SVL-75-2 up north. Plan to do some work on a gently sloping mountain trail that we drive on. It is 8 feet (96") wide. Want to skim off grassy center part of the trail between the tires ruts in the road. Will skim off the top 4 inches by 48 inch wide. It will have some roots and smaller rocks. Do you see any problems with the SVL 75-2 doing the job? Will use a bucket with teeth to cut through any roots and rocks. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks much.
Should work just fine for you
@@cameronward7137 Thanks much Cameron
@@cameronward7137 Thank you.
Too bad the truck didn’t help you out by dumping it a little further back.
Yea the ground was too soft for that
What’s the black stuff before the dump truck unloads
Filter fabric, it keeps the gravel from sinking into the mud but still allows water to pass through.
U know good and well you'll need to repair the damage on the neighbors lawn
Ok I’ll head that way right now
What type of posts are they? I've never seen them at home depot they look like 6x6 but also looks like stuff on railroads. where do you get them?
Cameron, I noticed you stopped making videos....What happened?
