How would you compare the DVD boxset to the blu-ray boxset besides the blu-ray possibly not working? I'm just getting into blu-ray and I'm not sure how much better it really is. Besides holding more episodes on each disc, is there any real difference audio/visual? Does the UK Disney fix the blu-ray problem?
BluRays are 1080p, while DVD is 480i. So, that's 6x the resolution, so 6x the video quality. As for audio, it all depends on your TV and speaker system, but typically there isn't much of a difference unless the BluRay uses Dolby Atmos, or Dolby TrueHD
So I have been wondering about this box set. I want to get it but I been hearing a lot of things such as some of the discs don't work and won't play all content. Could someone confirm whether or not this is true? I would really like to own the DVDs and not continue to rely on Disney+.
I have a question: in the episode guide, it says, for example, season 5 disc 3 bonus "Ahsoka's history". But when I watch it on my computer I can't find it. Can you help me?
I personally don't like the animation in the Clone Wars movie, and the animation throughout Season 1 and 2 Although was slowly improving over time, was still fairly wooden. In my opinion from Season 3 onward the animation was amazing.
I think the fac blu-ray didn't work because of that region-difference thing. I'm solving that just getting a german edition as western europe has the same region so blu-rays work anywhere there.
I've read a few problems with the US blu-ray collector's edition. Do you know if the region free UK box set of Clone Wars ironed out all the plaguing the US blu-ray box set?
wdcain1 I know nothing abput that, I must say. As I wrote earlier, I got the german edition. It takes me some time to figure out where's wich episode because the episode guide is in german, but otherwise it's just identical to the UK region edition, IMO (even the case is in english). I live in Europe, note that.
I picked mine up from amazon but you can pretty much get it anywhere they sell dvd's now. I forget how much I got it for but you can probably get it for around $100
I never watched a single episode of this and I will never, ever understand why the hell this even exists in the first place. I saw the pilot movie that came out in theatres in 2008, and I was so unbelievably bored and bummed out. Plus, I hate the artistic design - everybody looks like they're made of plastic (Dooku's beard especially), and Assaj Ventress sounds like Komari Vosa?! The music was shitty and the "snips" thing was just beyond stupid. I just lowered my head and thought: There is NO way I am going to continue watching this crap on TV... I couldn't WAIT for the pilot to be over. To me, this whole series is non-canon, and if I had known how bad the pilot was going to be, I wouldn't have even seen it. The ONLY real and valid Clone Wars to me are the Gamecube videogame Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the series of novels labeled "A Clone Wars Novel", the Boba Fett series, and the 2-DVD collection of the microseries Clone Wars: Volumes One and Two. I bought all of those, so those are canon to me - not the CG Clone Wars. I have not even the remotest desire to buy it.
It seems a bit odd to me to get so worked up about a show you don't like, but given that there is SO MUCH Star Wars material out there, I think you have the right approach in just picking and choosing what works for you and ignoring the rest. That being said, I would strongly recommend giving the series another chance. Like you, I was instantly put off by the theatrical pilot when I saw it in cinema and ignored the series until checking it out just about a year ago. Suffice it to say, I am very glad that I returned to it. George Lucas really kneecapped the series by insisting on the theatrical release when the production team were still finding their feet and the movie is not representative of the overall series at all. While season 1 still has some growing pains in the animation department and a few poor episodes here and there, it immediately highlights the strengths of the series that improve continuously with each subsequent season. The Clone Wars is a series whose quality and depth are revealed in the composite impression it leaves on you over time.

...Then why are you here?
Christopher Russell you are not strong or wise and I’m not proud of you
That's not how it works. You can't just decide what is and isn't canon. If it is canon it's canon, if you don't like it get out.
Ok. Good for you boy.
