I find that JBL tends to get copied a lot where a company will try to do a knock off of them and say it's a JBL but I tend to do an unboxing and first impressions and setup and then later a review after I've had time to use it so that way it people know what they are going to get in the box and aren't surprised when like a charging brick doesn't come in the box or stuff like that.
@@jimbo4203 yes! I finally updated and I love it! The bass is great and the treble really shines. I keep it in the bathroom for showers and it sounds amazing. Probably my favorite stationary speaker :)
@@jimbo4203 oh yeah. It sounds amazing party boosted with the Flip 5. I want to get the Flip 6 soon. I love the sound and all especially party boosted but the Bose SoundLink Flex is still my favorite portable Bluetooth speaker. (yes, I know that the Charge 5 is technically a portable Bluetooth speaker). I just hate that the bass radiators are exposed when travelling so I can't just throw it in my backpack
Can't wait to receive mine, even though I ordered it direct from JBL. I don't recommend doing this as it takes around 2 weeks to receive it, which in my opinion is WAYYY TOOO LOOONG!!!!!!!

I received mine today. It seems that it is not charged. I connected to charge hours ago. From start the white line is not flashing but slightly flickers. I see yours had no flicker or flash, what is wrong with this new JBLCHARGE5 speaker. It is identical to yours except yours works.
What charging brick are you using? Depending on the charging brick you could be trying to force too much or too little power into the speaker which will prevent it from charging.
Some times you have to put on the phone where you want the sound to come from. Usually it automatically will do the audio output as the speaker but sometimes you have to manually change it. Or (even though it does not have speakerphone capabilities) you have to go into your settings on your phone. Press the options under the Bluetooth device and turn audio on. What kind of phone do you have?
There's a LED bar under the logo at the front that lights up. From empty it lights up at the bottom and the more it's charged the more full the LED bar becomes till it's fully lit
I'm not surprised it doesn't have an aux port since most speakers it's size are ditching the port. Also, there has never been a microsd card slot on any of the JBL lineup.
I wasn't aware that there were metallic ones. Is it just like a color they have called metallic? As far as I know, all of them are a stretched cloth material over a rubberized housing

The Charge 5 now has an equalizer through the JBL app. Now you can turn that bass up even more!

If you have a android phone it comes with a 9 band EQ , and it makes it sound even better

charge 3 covered all ports. now that its exposed, youll get crazy amount of dirt in that charge port as time goes on
I also bought the flip 5 first. Liked it so much that I got the charge 5 . They both sound great, even better party boosted together !

Usually any powerbrick will charge it as long as it's larger than a 5watt power adapter

that's too bad there's a lot of other reasons why they should be at 3.5 mm plug into my dj controller,ipod and other reasons.

A USB pendrive? Like a flashdrive? No... How would you choose the song you want to play or navigate the flashdrive to get to the audio files?

It's a plastic and with some of it covered in a stretched cloth like material too
