India has many states as the comment states above. It has diversity. And those many states together helped us. Not only you West Bengalis. But this is about 1952 when urdu was almost forced upon on the now Bangladeshi citizens( Both hindus and muslims. ) West Bengalis never faced the force of urdu. They were never forbidden from listening to Rabindra sangeet or attending Bangla noboborsho like we were. You guys had your culture protected. I am American and I heard this song as a background to a dance video and had to find out where I could hear it again! I don't understand the lyrics, but the music is so moving, as well as listening to the language, so soothing but at the same time feel like it's telling a story.... lovely! I am going to try and watch the movie now, too.

If reels were needed for the audience to explore such masterpieces then it clearly indicates the lack of Hindi audience who appreciate original and soulful music and content. I'm glad that even as a non-Hindi speaking person I fell in love with this gem of an album in 2013 itself.
