    I love this video. I have watched it before a few times. Since then every time I go to a charity shop, I look at these containers, but never found a frog yet. lol

    Very beautiful. We have over three hundred glass frogs.Most are clear. Have many that are green and a few red ones.We have been here for 165 years.In the old days all the flowers in our chapel the frogs were use for all the flowers on the altar. I still use a few of them. But I mostly use the wire one,which we have a whole box of them about 100 of them. We even have a few crystal vases very much like yours! Our community never throws anything away!!!! I use the vases especially at Christmas and Easter. In most cases I rather use the frogs than oasis. You do have to get use to using them!

      Davis Longsworth that is amazing - you could have a flower festival! Yes, I took this home and remade it and it was much easier the second time. I think it’s good to find ideas instead of foam - cheaper and more environmental and you can use them again and again and again ! 😀

    Hello from Los Angeles! I have just discovered your channel and I am really enjoying your professional, well done and informative videos. One tip for your glass frog, or any type of frog (a.k.a. kenzan) glass or metal pin frog- anchor it in your container with green floral putty when the container is perfectly dry, prior to adding your water. Place the putty around the base of the frog, press downward inside of the bottom of the container and then give it a slight twist clockwise until it stops turning. This means your frog is secure. (You will be able to completely turn over your container and your frog will not fall out if you use good strong floral putty.) Then add your water. When working with floral frogs it is usual that not all of the floral elements will fit into a hole. Just as you discovered when working with it, your design begins with each stem in a hole but then as you work, the later stems are placed in between those stems that are in the holes. The earlier stem placements become the armature for the later stems. Floral frogs are an environmentally friendly alternative to floral foam which contains carcinogens like formaldehyde, coal tar, green dye, barium sulfate and heptane, which can irritate the eyes, skin and respiratory tract when the fine particles are airborne. Floral foam is made from non-biodegradable fine-celled plastic and it cannot be recycled. Imagine never buying or using floral foam again! It might even help your bank account!

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  5 лет назад +1

      Jo Halpert that is a good tip! Thank you for the information on Floral foam - we do need to try and find different ways to create designs and reduce foam use - unless our foam producers can create a fully biodegradable version. That would be great, but I do enjoy trying other techniques. Thanks for watching and hello to Los Angeles! 🙋🏼‍♂️😀
