You already are starting to slightly see it with Kobe it will happen and then we will realise that the game changes and when you look back and only see stats its disrespectful to compare becausr you really dont know. Plus it was a different time so its hard to say what these players would look like now or what the players now would look like back then so either way best of a generation is fair but best players of all time is so tough to compare generations and the infinitely different circumstances is just impossible
People who think kobe was inefficent are casuals. His TS% was always well above league avg in an era that was arguably the toughest defensively. Whereas cousey was just straight up inefficent. Bro was just barley shooting above the avg and had season where he shot under the league avg.
We need to look at context for each era or else we will get inefficient results as people would call somebody like Kobe inefficient scorer for todays NBA but never give the context on why those numbers are misleading to today’s league due to the 2000’s being one of the slowest paced era and defenses having more lead way than today’s league which is why Kobe’s scoring and efficiency is lower than it should be for today’s league. So in the end if we are going to compare different players from other era’s we need to look at the context of each other era like average percentage, pace, and etc those things need to be considered when comparing any player from different eras together.

i’m all for comparing today’s players with the 50’s and 60’s players. That’s why George Mikan has a spot in the GOAT 25 or so. The problem with Russo’s take here is it’s wrong even by those standards. CP3 is significantly better now than Cousy was when he played. Better PER. Better Win Shares. Better TS% even if you adjust Cousy’s to match modern play. Hell, he’s even (slightly) better than Jerry West. P.S./Edit: Bob Cousy was essentially the 50’s and 60’s version of Tony Parker. @@demonkingbadger6689 huh?
@@darrellwilliams9168 russell played half his career before that speech, give or take.
@@demonkingbadger6689 ok? What does that have to do with whiteness? And I also don’t compare Russell to modern basketball players
@@darrellwilliams9168 fair enough if you dont compare russell to modern players. But, what does the "i have a dream" speech have to do with basketball?
Hey, 2-hand set shot better
PS. That guy is smoking crack, JJ spitting facts, and SAS' reaction is priceless
Ya should make a video of everytime someone mentioned russel westbrooks triple doubles ina compilation
we all cooking cousy fr 😂
Bob Cousy never even made over 40% of his shots. Not even in 1 season.
Man our generation will look back one day and feel bad about the disrespect we showed to the older generation because basketball is just going to keep getting better and I guarantee in 15-20 years people will be disrespecting even the best players from our generation.
Ah yes my favorite gumball character
Bobbert Cousy 8:00
Came back here after Cousy roasted JJ. I'm glad that these old players are slowly standing up to the BS and the scrutiny that modern media has put them through.
Well, one problem with that is most are dead, and cant say anything at all. Hell, i thought Cousy was dead until this came up.
I knew this was going to be mad dog from the title lmao
Metal gear button was on point
Jim crow basketball dont count
JIM CROW INVENTED BASKETBALL
I hope he didn't take the over on the game where cp got 4 points
Classic moment after the clip, when Stephen A just chimes in with J.J. because he can't resist riding the coattails when someone is right.
Love the vid but SAGE IS KILLIN MY EARS LMAOO
Al Horford would have had a statute outside Boston after he shot a three. Would have blew their mind 🤣
There was no 3 point line then.
It's hilarious how he brings up CP3 stats in key games especially after those pheonix, dallas games. Proof a blind squirrel still finds a nut, or a broken clock is right twice a day.
If you can disrespect bob because today’s game, 20 years from now they will say magic and larry just average basketball players based what they can do in their future league.
Give man his rose because he can develop that well when everyone around him didnt catch the standard yet.
Brandon Ingram is better than Anthony Davis
sage's mic need upgrade. at least play with the settings. sounds bad. cheers
I am willing to bet all my possessions in this world that bob cousy 10-0 you sage
Probably, but that’s not the point.
It’s a joke chill

russo only respects pre-integration hoops, nasty man right there
Fun fact 1 - Players now are on average 10x better than players in the 50s and 60s
Fun fact 2 - Russell Westbrook averages a triple double
Greater yes.
Better no.
Both sides of this bother me to be honest.
No one ever says that chamberlain played against plumbers. He played the same years cousey played.
Cousy really played against Hof Plumbers......... But.....................Did you know that Russell Westbrook averaged a triple double?
Aye man all I’m saying is that Bob Cousy is a God in 2k tho 😂 , a 96 overall with a 95 three ball
God please let me never become an old head
All the disrespect, Me as an 11 year old will cook Bob Cousy
Chris Russo is a baseball guy, he had a show on MLB network before this. He's the most casual.
Listen if you put JJ redick in the 50s/60s. I’m not gonna lie he might have 13 rings. Just saying
nasty sponsor transition LMFAOOOOO
Bro ...did anybody else notice that even the white people got better after segregation? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
JJ Redick sound dumb because he said west and Russell and Robertson could play today but cousy was also making al nba teams and was a all star so if Bob cousy is trash so is everyone else
You cant compare 90s to today's game. Hardly the 2000s. Athletic progression is a fact. It happens and we know it does. We FOR SURE are seeing better and better and better basketball as time goes on. For sure. Like objectively.
I’m so glad that y’all did this video 😂😂😂😂y’all the goats🤝
i’m all for comparing today’s players with the 50’s and 60’s players.
Nice player. Nothing transcendent.
Yo that's disrespectful to Tony Parker. Tony got FMVP playing along side Tim Bob couldn't do that.
