The reason the position of the nurse and the arms dealer mattered is because when the arms dealer was on the bottom, the angler was within 25 block of him. When the arms dealer was on the top, the angler was no longer within 25 blocks of him.

For future reference, deleted files can be easily recovered using a program like Recuva. When a file is deleted it's just marked as writable space but it's still there until something is written over it.
Honestly, I think summoner is still is a bit bad early game. The finch staff is too weak plus you might not even get it. And the Vampire Frog staff takes forever to get and will easily get replaced by the Imp staff. After that, summoner gets good.
It's significantly worse than every other class until you get to martian staff. Everything else before that sucks. Grounded minions are basically useless. Summoners have to stay close to everything and are given a melee weapon to increase damage by pretty much nothing. But you can't keep that damage increase and summoner targeting if you switch to anything else. Once you get celestial dragon it becomes nearly the strongest setup.
@@BIGGIANTSGUY I'm not sure I follow the armor pre boss thing. Most other classes get by wearing some generic armor for defense. Melee also doesn't have pre-boss armor. Range has fossil but honestly who even bothers. Mage is the only one with a worthwhile pre-boss armor in jungle/ancient cobalt, but even then it's sometimes gotten after bosses anyways. Obviously summoner armor is more important than most; not counting whip for example bee armor at least doubles your damage (3 summon * 100% -> 5 * 123% dmg), up to nearly 4x if you don't have potion/table, but arguably summoner isn't meant to be played pure. Whips are a step in changing that, but they really dont work imo.
The imp staff is ridiculously good for how easy it is to get. Eclipses all non-hard mode summons and even some hardmode stuff. Had no issues with the wall of flesh tbh
They really need to change the spawn rates of the new summoner weapons I spent 4 hours earching for the blade staff Ended up downloading a builders workshop map and getting it there
Summoner in general is just a mess, almost all the weapons either have to be farmed for or crafted with a rare item and whips while they are nice are almost useless as summoner gets the lowest defense in the game and needs to run away from Enemies. Whips don't give enough range or damage output to even be remotely worth using meaning fights take a very very long time as summoner also (in my experience) has some of the worst damage output in the game until terraprisma or stardust dragon

With summoners being my favorite class, I was absolutely delighted to see Whips added. The downside is that, I feel like every single whip is a pre-hardmode weapon. while the guns get more and more consistant, the spells get quirkier, and the melee weapons start to shoot lasers...the whips remain so short ranged and limited. While I'm incredibly happy that Summoning is better, I still don't feel like its enough to make it feel like a true class. I've always felt like they needed something else. like the ability to support or heal.
@a pineapple I can imagine like, something like the thorn whip flicking off little random projectiles, or more things like the ice whip [Cant remember the name] which actually creates a large snowflake that homes in on enemies. but there needs to be something. I personally love the idea of a healing ability. I genuinely LOVE playing the Healer, but the only way I can do that is by using the spectre armor late game. If Summons could heal a small fraction of health for their user, and maybe a bit more for allies. it could really help the class become something helpful and fun to play. And of course...make Laser Whips...
@@ZtotheMills try to use the Flameburst from the old one`s army dude. try to get a high dmg buff with lowerded mana cost. The tower is pretty weak and dont shoots this fast BUT first you can place it down while having 4 -5 bees/imps whatsoever, and here is what it makes it op. you can stand inside a house or just spawn it into a dark cave. it will spawn right under your mouse. doesnt matter if you 300 feet away and a wall or 30 walls between you and the enemy. dont let it shoot his way. just spawn it as rapitly as you can. everytime it shows up , one fireball will shoot out and area affects all enemys. haha feels like cheatn but they wanted a strong sum. so here we go for mid game :D plus you can summon additional things like the red cloud that rains down. With that combination you can just easily chill inside your closed house while bloodmoon/slime rain/ pirates etc. imagine playing with more summ at the same time
@@mr_sugarcube Of course there are way more skilled players then Yrimir, but that was never the point. I watch Yrimir because I like his personality and he has been around for a long time doing fun challanges and giving good tips. I never like to argue about "who the superior terraria player is", that just doesn't matter to me. His challanges are still impressive and that fact doesn't change just because someone did harder or more impressive challanges. I guess people like to point out all the great stuff ningishu did because they always seem to see many meme comments about Yrimir being a god at the game. Pretty childlish stuff.
Since i was watching this after 1.4.1, I was extremely confused when he was going for obsidian armor pre-eow and then realized it wasn’t a summoner armor yet which is kinda ironic
7:20 what's probably happening here is that the arms dealers home tile is too close to the angler for him to be happy enough to sell the pylon. being in the top house is just far away enough so that the angler is not considered living in the same house.
They are not, its still hell to play on it as almost all the new weapons are rng based and to use the whips you need to be real close to the bosses while having the class with less defense on the game, I still love playing summoner but I cant lie its still hell
Ehhhh they haven’t really, summoner class is actually my favorite and the one I play the most but it’s still deff the weakest class. The whips are a joke, there’s no moonlord whip drop and there’s not enough summing accessories
Chippy you said "I'll never understand pylon/NPC happiness" right after you essentially explained it. It's extremely simple - NPCs have a happiness score. Being in a biome they like increases happiness and being near other NPCs they like increases happiness. If their happiness is high enough they will sell a pylon, regardless of what biome it is or what their preferred biome is. You can also put the nurse and the merchant anywhere and the merchant will sell the Pylon for whatever biome they are in.
One of my favourite things about 1.4 is how they really padded out the summoned class in that they have official weapons now, and there are more accessible summons at the start. I always intended to do a true summoner playthrough, but always thought "why should I if early pre hardmode just doesn't exist". Now I will definitely do one in the future.
Speaking of summoners, the finch staff is based on the hobbit. The wizard that controls nature has a staff that control finches and they land on his nest hair. Not sure if anyone else has figured this out?
EOW TIP: make a decently short minecart track at the surface of the corruption and go at full speed. going at full speed (in an upgraded minecart) will do tons of damage and will destroy the vile spit he shoots out. He will do some damage but as long as you have healing potions as a back up, the hearts he dispenses will save you.
the EOC was expected to turn into the fastest thing alive. for some reason the more HP it has when it turns into phase 2 just run... RUN just look at 100 players in terraria videos and see the EoC continoulsy charging

I warped back, somehow got it below half with arrows, and proceeded to shit myself when I got hit by all four of its lightspeed dashes.

I just got Terraria on PC a few weeks ago after having it on console for years! The first run I did was a multiplayer journey mode master mode game with one of my friends. When we challenged the Old One's Army the first time, we got utterly destroyed lol

I noticed in your “official” playthrough you stick with the imp staff for most encounters and general combat. In your footage at the end, you are using the bee staff. What are some differences you found between the two? Was one a clear superior to the other? Personally I liked the bee staff, but you actually got me wanting to try the imp staff more than I had.
Bruh I was literally trying to do this run when I saw this got posted. I didn’t find a finch staff till my 6th world, and then just had 0 rng the whole time
I know you've probably worked it out by now but you can change your computers recycle bin settings to save even huge files (like hours of video footage). Just right-click and go to properties on the recycle bin and set the custom size to something like 100 000 MB (100 GB) which should be enough. You can even go larger if you want. Just don't forget to manually empty it once in a while or all that space will still be taken. Can't wait for part 2 :)
7:32 it s not for the order. the combo nurse+gun dealer only works if they are alone. the thing is, that, to consider them to be alone, they have to be 25 blocks apart from the housing of anyone else. so when you moved him up you actually got him far enought to consider him to be alone with the nurse

So me and my friends have played through the game twice now, and we are of the mind set that summoner is not a class but a bonus for other classes as it is far more effective to play the game that way, anyone have any thoughts on this?
Next time you do a summoner play through, get the spinal tap. It’s really good and depending on your dungeon layout, you *can* get it before skeletron!
Every other class has to dodge, they dont get a "dont get hit pass" for playing the other classes. The only class that is genuinely tanky is melee, and that only starts happening after molten armor.

I played through the game as a summoner and my friend was playing melee only, i'd say it's definitely possible as i was doing way more damage than he did.
Just so you know, when a file has just been deleted, it's actually still there on the HD it's just the reference to it has been deleted (which means it can be written over). If you don't start filling up your HD with different stuff, you can get an "undelete" software (there's a bunch of different ones) and use it to "find" your document on your HD and "re-reference it" (recover). It just takes a few minutes :)
i dont know if anyone has said this yet, but the first painting in the dungeon was called "The Guardian's Gaze" and it has a 1.94 chance to spawn, so you got a really rare item there.
If something like this happens again you can use a disk recovery program to recover the file as when a file is deleted, it isn’t gone, it only gets flagged for overwriting.

Ice spikes can rapid fire, chill, and freeze you in place. Jungle slimes just poison you and rapid fire.
I feel like spiked jungle slimes are much worst. There friggin snipers, and the poison lats for 20 minutes.

Summoner was a half-assed class. Their biggest solution was a half-assed weapon class.

Whips are about as half-assed as the summoner class itself. You can be happy that they tried all you want, but the grade for effort is still an F
The pylon happines is also with the stylist and the dye trader regardless any biome (even the snow biome)

One of my favourite things about 1.4 is how they really padded out the summoned class in that they have official weapons now, and there are more accessible summons at the start. I always intended to do a true summoner playthrough, but always thought "why should I if early pre hardmode just doesn't exist". Now I will definitely do one in the future.

Speaking of summoners, the finch staff is based on the hobbit. The wizard that controls nature has a staff that control finches and they land on his nest hair. Not sure if anyone else has figured this out?

EOW TIP: make a decently short minecart track at the surface of the corruption and go at full speed. going at full speed (in an upgraded minecart) will do tons of damage and will destroy the vile spit he shoots out. He will do some damage but as long as you have healing potions as a back up, the hearts he dispenses will save you.

@@TerrorLTZ I just got 1.4 last week and started a master mode playthrough. I was getting destroyed by skeletons in the underground when I got the warning that it was about to fuck my shit up.
I warped back, somehow got it below half with arrows, and proceeded to shit myself when I got hit by all four of its lightspeed dashes.
@@TerrorLTZ EOC the fastest thing alive ? try fight queen bee outside of jungle, yes i'm stupid, but i panic the 1st time i break the larva -> tp to base -> fought queen bee in base every time since while assuming it easier to fight on battle ground u built (until i know about enraged boss buff)

I just got Terraria on PC a few weeks ago after having it on console for years! The first run I did was a multiplayer journey mode master mode game with one of my friends. When we challenged the Old One's Army the first time, we got utterly destroyed lol

As a summoner mage fusion, the forbidden set is ABSOLUTELY crucial since no other set benefits both summoner and mage. (Plus that tornado looks pretty epic)

I noticed in your “official” playthrough you stick with the imp staff for most encounters and general combat. In your footage at the end, you are using the bee staff. What are some differences you found between the two? Was one a clear superior to the other?
Personally I liked the bee staff, but you actually got me wanting to try the imp staff more than I had.
Imp staff is a bit stronger and instead of a poison chance it has a guarentee fire debuff
Bruh I was literally trying to do this run when I saw this got posted. I didn’t find a finch staff till my 6th world, and then just had 0 rng the whole time
I know you've probably worked it out by now but you can change your computers recycle bin settings to save even huge files (like hours of video footage). Just right-click and go to properties on the recycle bin and set the custom size to something like 100 000 MB (100 GB) which should be enough. You can even go larger if you want. Just don't forget to manually empty it once in a while or all that space will still be taken.

7:32 it s not for the order. the combo nurse+gun dealer only works if they are alone. the thing is, that, to consider them to be alone, they have to be 25 blocks apart from the housing of anyone else. so when you moved him up you actually got him far enought to consider him to be alone with the nurse

So me and my friends have played through the game twice now, and we are of the mind set that summoner is not a class but a bonus for other classes as it is far more effective to play the game that way, anyone have any thoughts on this?
Next time you do a summoner play through, get the spinal tap. It’s really good and depending on your dungeon layout, you *can* get it before skeletron!

Long story short: yes
People are just Not good at Dodging and relying too much on defense.
Every other class has to dodge, they dont get a "dont get hit pass" for playing the other classes. The only class that is genuinely tanky is melee, and that only starts happening after molten armor.

I played through the game as a summoner and my friend was playing melee only, i'd say it's definitely possible as i was doing way more damage than he did.
Just so you know, when a file has just been deleted, it's actually still there on the HD it's just the reference to it has been deleted (which means it can be written over). If you don't start filling up your HD with different stuff, you can get an "undelete" software (there's a bunch of different ones) and use it to "find" your document on your HD and "re-reference it" (recover). It just takes a few minutes :)

i dont know if anyone has said this yet, but the first painting in the dungeon was called "The Guardian's Gaze" and it has a 1.94 chance to spawn, so you got a really rare item there.

If something like this happens again you can use a disk recovery program to recover the file as when a file is deleted, it isn’t gone, it only gets flagged for overwriting.
