Kelly, this card is fantastic and your dad is sure to love it. Not only did we have this tv at our house and both of my grandparents homes, my in laws had one in their kitchen until they moved in 2000. It was so beat up that you had to use a wrench to change the channel. Despite being upper middle class and definitely able to afford a newer one, they were also of a time where if it still works, you keep it. They had owned it since they moved to the US in 1972. lol

I guess that if you had rabbit ears on your TV that it was black and white. Oh yes, I can relate that the parents picked the shows. How many times did I have to watch Lawrence Welk and the Sat. night fights (boxing)? But those are good memories now and would give anything to have my Dad here so that we could watch something together. Thanks for a great card and a great story. Your Dad will love this card. These are things that make the Dad's all "mushy".

Loved this card! I so identified with story time. When I got home from working at night my dad and I would watch Hogan's Hero together and like you it was because if dad was home he picked the show. But it made for a cherished memory

I love dad stories. I totally get the union and laid off bit. My dad worked for the railroad. When I was really little, he worked in the yards as a switchman. That was fun because my older brother, sister and I would go down to the yards and ride the switch engine back and forth while they "built" trains! If he got laid off in the winter, he worked at the local Napa Auto Parts store. I was nine when he went on the road. At that point, he was a brakeman/conductor (freight and later Amtrak) and he was never laid off again. But he was never home either. He didn't watch too much T.V. but if he was home on Sunday evening he was loyal to Lawrence Welk (gag)! That shows my age! I THINK the pretend "wood" you're talking about is veneer. It's a very fine strip/sheet of faux wood that's affixed with glue and HEAT! This card is way too fun! "The Price Is Right" has been on forever!

Oh it's such a cute card... I love it! I have to get that stamp and die set. I'm a lot older than you (60), so I remember those furniture TVs units. My dad worked for Zenith for 30+ years, so we had lots of TV's. My favorite was a very space age looking red little one. I also would interact with my father by watching TV with him. In my case, I would translate old Westerns for me from English to Spanish.

Cute card! When InkyBliss wants to colour something that stamps black, she either uses a gel pen or a posca pen. I’ve come to love her use of posca pens especially, if you’re ever concerned about something stamping black when it should be red.

I just ordered the glue press, I already use tonic glue with the fine tip nibs, but I am struggling when squeezing glue out for larger items. My Hans and wrists are so painful and I look forward to using the press. I bought it on your recommendation and seeing you use it all of the time. I hardly ever buy what items people in videos use as most of the time they are being paid to promote them, and only use them once. You are delightfully different in that aspect. Xx
