Sure looks easy to remove screws in hinge. My Thailand Toyota rivo screws are set with locktite and will not come out. Finally had to drill out and retap.
Hey mate does this type of damper can be installed on the other hilux model wherein the tailgate holder is not using the cable tie, instead the two pieces flat bars folded when closing are used ,,
Yeah man, that bolt is stuck as as hell, you have to drill ahole to the bolt and then use counter thread tool to get it out, after that you need of course a new bolt to screw i back .....
@@OverlandExplorersUK thanks for the reply, i wonder if i can install 2 gas struts the other one is going the other way so it will help win the pulling of the tailgate, will this work?
I actually have a set from the same manufacture sat in the garage which I bought quite a few years ago, I didn't fit them as I had heard that they wont fit with a second battery installed so I put it on the back burner I might pull them out this weekend and see if I can get them to fit
Really appreciate this video. It was the only one I could find that answered my questions.
Good work Champ.
Just got mine, without installation instructions. This certainly will assist.
Happy 4WDing
Cheers

Whats the newtton on that strut?
So.....how long did it last?
Very clear.
Why do some people remove the taillights next to them when they install them????
Maybe it's slightly different on different models but I dont see why the rear light would have to be removed
@@OverlandExplorersUK Yes, maybe they're wrong. Tq.
Was the T40 bolt that easy to remove?
It was lock tited in so was tight to begin with

Do the dampers come as a pair or just one?
My kit came with two struts
does it help in pushing the tailgate back up?
No, just helps when opening
