Thank You Fanny :)
Bravo man! transmits good vibes. I am 25 years old, you say that I can learn to play the basics at this age, or is it necessary to start younger? Cheers!
Thank you. It's never too late to start playing an instrument, as long as you are physically able. My uncle started playing the guitar in his early 60s. He eventually had to stop due to arthritis, but he got pretty good in the few years that he had with it. I say go for it.
Super performance. Love the right hand action - is it a triple strum? Been listening for ages to try and pick it up. Thx
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
I don't really know the exact strum i'm doing for this song. And It's
possible that I strum a little different every time I play it. I do
it without really thinking about it. Below I've tried to explain the
strum that I usually do. Of course on every song it may vary a little
bit.
I would say I'm not doing a traditional uke strum. I really do it
without thinking about it. The best way I could describe it is: I'm
using my thumb mostly for the up and down stroke and then the back of
my middle and ring finger on the end of the fingernails for a down
stroke to get a percussive chop sound. You can use the back of
whichever finger(s) you want, that's just how my hand naturally
falls.
Let's just say that (chop)= downstroke with the back of
whatever fingernail(s) you're comfortable with. And any down, up is
done with the thumb. So my go to strum would be. Down, down, up,
chop, up, down, up and then start over again down, down, up, chop,
up, down, up.
Hope this helps,
Mike

Awesome singing! I see you use both a Flea soprano and a Kiwaya. Do you have a preference between the two? Is that a KS-1?
Thanks for watching. It's a Kiwaya kts-4. I started with a Flea about 17 years ago and played that exclusively until I got the Kiwaya. Then when I got the Kiwaya I played it almost exclusively for a few years. These days I play the Flea most of the time.
@@mikemiragliuolo Thanks for responding! I ended up watching all your songs -- you sound great! I've been trying to decide between the Flea (either a soprano or a concert) and something like a Kiwaya or Martin mahogany soprano, so it was very cool to be able to hear their effect for different songs. They both sound great but different, so I'm having some trouble deciding.
Is there a particular reason you prefer the Flea at this moment?
Thanks again for your music. Hopefully we'll see more songs from you in the future.
@@tvboxify I think I prefer the Flea because it's what I started on and played for so many years. Something about the tone of the Flea just hits different for me. The Flea is also very durable. The two that I have are laminate tops so I don't have to worry about humidity or lack there of. The Kiwaya stays in the case with a humidifier and the Flea is out of the case and easy to grab, and gets played more often. The neck on the Flea is thicker than most ukuleles but I'm used to it and have no problems with it. I've had about 8 Fleas in the past. I gave a few away and sold a few. The are super consistent. I actually prefer the injection molded plastic fretboard over the wood fretboard with metal frets that they offer. In the end it's a matter of personal taste. The Flea just checks all the boxes for me. I hope that helps.
@@mikemiragliuolo Yeah, that makes sense why you're playing the Flea. Definitely go with the one that speaks to you.
I had a soprano Flea in the past with a laminate top which I really liked (not sure why I got rid of it at the time!). I also played a concert Flea with a spruce top in a shop the other day and really liked the tone as well. I worry about the humidity with a solid top but from what I've read online the solid-top fleas are not quite as sensitive to humidity as an all-solid wood instrument, but I guess I still worry a bit :)
Thanks for the advice! Your stuff definitely inspired me to pick up my guitar and uke and play more!
Very nice! Haven't heard this song for quite awhile. And u made it sound so much better than the original. I love it so much 😍👍
Thanks Raihan :)
Which uke are you using here? You sound fantastic!
Thank you. The uke is a Kiwaya kts-4. I got it about 6 years ago.
Great cover! Whats the strumming pattern?
Thanks. Sorry don't really have a strumming pattern. I just play without really thinking about it.
