Some other open world games that are on the Switch which I personally recommend: Gothic, Gothic II, RIsen, Ravensword: Shadowlands, Destroy All Humans!, The Witcher 3, Retro City Rampage DX, Shakedown: Hawaii, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Outward, The Outer Worlds, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I recommend the GTA Trilogy too, even if the Switch ports are based on the crappy Definitive Editions. I haven't played Saints Row 3 and 4, but they seem really fun too.

the gta 4 engine was a massive overhaul from 3. Also it did a lot of advanced graphics but I do not think it was a deferred renderer. The engine may need to be updated to run on modern hardware without issues. I am sure its next on the re-release list but my guess is the layoffs they just had that were not GTA 6 related were all side projects that would have handled gta4. :(
I am a PC Gamer, I owned a SNES and my kids had an N64. I've often considered a console, but PS5 and XBOX are pretty much taken care of by my PC, should I get a Switch or not bother? I like the idea of the active sports games but is this all it's good for? I'm not really into fantasy games.
