- What a hard earned battle this one was. After a few weeks of struggling at Fonda Speedway Mike finally found the right setup to get the job done and pick up the win!

Nice Job Team 35! Mike's "low groove" worked out and was flawless. The reason this team is going to do well this year is prep work, and follow through...like Josh getting air pressure readings on the Right Rear (26:47) just before the winning team photo. Josh is getting data for the next win. Way to go team!
We found speed at Fonda = barely letting off in the corners and having the car stick, then hammering it down the straight away. Run the bottom, middle..no prob. So cool watching a car that handles and listening to the motor work. Well done!!

What a driver and what a BadFast Racecar really had her hooked up the corner speed was absolutely amazing keep on truckin nothing like winning stay on top of that rollercoaster ride you can have the best equipment in the world it takes someone to set it up and then the most important thing is what you put behind the wheel everybody can't do what he does he is very talented Congratulations to the whole team everyone is working together that's how it works

I had to go to Google Earth to figure out the track layout. It looked like a flat Belleville, but Belleville is more round if you can believe that. Congratulations on the great run. Don’t forget Mandee! Good save.

How many races are tires good for? Does the right-rear normally get the most wear? Which tires if any can be used for multiple races? How much do tires cost?
It seems you are always lapping/shaving tires every race. Does it really make a difference? Is it to expose new rubber? It would not seem that the rubber exposed to the air would make a difference.
Hope you aren't 'tired' of these questions.

Hi jeff!
Spinning the tires on the race surface gets the rubber hot and when it cools it hardens on the surface
Grinding the top layer of rubber off exposes newer softer rubber
The right rear always carries the most load and creates the most wear so generally takes a harder compound of rubber than the other three as well as more air pressure
Amount of races a tire last depends how abrasive the surface of the track is.

@@dirttrackuntold Thanks that helps. I would love to spend time in a classroom with others asking questions about Modifieds. I would pay good $$$ to sit in a Modified and take it around the track a few times (OK slow). Due to liability I doubt that could happen. I think it would be some'thn to witness the power, the vibration, and the speed. I have been watching Modifieds since the early 70s starting at Reading...then Bridgeport. The 1st time I heard of your dad I thought he was Marvin Panch...that was ages ago. I attended the World of Outlaws race at Bridgeport. I parked up Floodgate road. Yes there was a crowd but still plenty of seating. I still like Modifieds the best but have been to many 410 and 358 winged Sprint Car races.
I said hi to you twice as we walked past each other. I figure you have to be a bit careful...I am sure though most of the crowd behaves itself. I think dirt tracks attract the best fans. Talking of an abrasive track. Georgetown was abrasive in the late 70s. However they have laid down a new surface twice...the last load was great. The last race at Georgetown was not a STSS race. The surface was perfect the entire race. The people who manicure tracks like Georgetown and Delmar and Bridgeport are artists. Hats off to Brett Deyo, Doug Rose, and Charlie Cathell. Those SpeedStrs @ Kutztown are great...great when they run @ Bridgeport. Hats off to Tobias too.

Racing gas. The brand (VP or Sunoco) depends on the track and/or Series you are running.

No disrespec Mike,i appologize, honestly didnt read any posts , until after, believe it or not, til after i mademy initial post. Been a stressful day.. Hope all are managing well, and will also.
First of all tell Mike Congrates on his Fonda Win. Second ask Mike if Hoosier Tires said anything to you dirt guys about not having enough material to keep making enough tires for racing , and apparently can not get anymore. A friend of mine told me his son races asphalt for the Cars series and they were told there's a tire shortage. Another guy from Texas rented 5 Flags to try to get a set up for his new car but couldn't get the amount of tires he wanted to practice on because of it. Please let me know if you've been told anything up there.
Here locally in Texas we were told there was going to be a price increase, due to lack if workers and not a material supply issue.
