Alatreon moves are easy to hop I just did my First SA run of Alatreon recently and had no issues dodging anything with Evade-4 you can even hop through the flying dragon charge. Although I have done a lot of Alatreon before so there's that too but with good timing I have dodged things with evade-1/2 before so it's possible with good timing but Evade 4 is most comfy.
Just got into switchaxe recently and got recommended this. If the creator still sees this, that would be amazing. But seriously, that ZSD into escaton judgement to survive with the regen, while also not using any mantles, what an absolutely cracked run. One of the coolest runs I’ve seen ever for mhw, you should be proud!

The answer is: Capcom strange choice of design. If you clutch the head and he does the electricity you will be knocked off (like at the opening of the quest), but it will not happen if you enter in the ZSD animation. Strange, but useful for a SA user!

With a health regeneration augment and if you pass at least one elemental check (at least two if you use a SA with elemental phials) you can survive the Eschaton Judgment with a ZSD on the Alatreon's head. You just have to pay attention to the timing. You must start the ZSD right.before as you start taking damage from the Eschaton Judgment
Super late but question! Of all iceborne alatreon switch axe speedrun i watched so far, it's always safi's power SA that being used and with only a moderare level of elemental boost too. How does this works actually? Do elemental damage has minimum influence (like it doesnt need to be super high, as long as we're using an elemental weapon) in this quest? What if one use power elemental phial againw alatreon?

Yes. When I made this run was before the Fatalis meta. So the best set for facing Alatreon now is 4 pieces of Fatalis + Escadora arms. For general use I suggest using the Kjarr weapons to get the Elemental check easier.
Alatreon takes almost none dragon elemental damage when is in Fire/Ice mode. Furthermore the Dragon HZV are not that great even when is Dragon mode. So usually the best option is Fire/Ice weapon, even if you want to proc only one elemental check like my case. Anyhow, Alatreon is not so weak to element. His elemental HZV are bad, but his raw HZV are very good. So for a weapon like SA the best option in a speedrun is to invest in raw damage and have a little amount of element, enough to proc one elemental check.
Correct me if im wrong but i thought TA wiki rules stated that mounting wasn't allowed? Edit: I just checked and maybe they changed it cause im not seeing anywhere that its prohibited, but i swear at one time no mounts were allowed.
It wasn’t about showing a quick run, it was all about healing through escalaton with the Healing augments alone. There’s a reason he killed him a few hits afterward. Dude didn’t even tenderize the head at the beginning when he had the chance.
@@Benjiboi you were healing up at certain points of the hunt when he was shooting ice or fire at you. Your health would lower but then you would gain it all back super fast. I was just curious as to what was causing that effect.

yeah most people cancel it early. though in some situations it's better to do full version.

Imagine if the amped meter ran out as you tried to do the ZSD against Escaton xD
Its a forgiving window, if it runs out right before you ZSD or right before you clutch claw it will give you full amped meter
