    Just a thought, couldn't you have laid the flooring before putting the last MDF bottom panel piece on. That way you could have then hidden the expansion gap and looked neater than using the little strips.

    • @ptb3335
      @ptb3335 2 года назад

      Maybe incase the floor expanded upwards causing the MDF to pop off.

    • @oslogutt80
      @oslogutt80 2 года назад

      Normally not a practical way to do it in that order, but feel free to do it yourself.

    • @gbwildlifeuk8269
      @gbwildlifeuk8269 2 года назад +2

      @@oslogutt80 of course its a practical way! You lay the floor, (leaving an expansion gap between floor and wall) then lay the skirting, or in this case, MDF lower rail, which hides the gap. Far neater than trimming later, a method usually reserved for hiding the gap when skirtings etc are already in place.

    • @gbwildlifeuk8269
      @gbwildlifeuk8269 2 года назад

      @@ptb3335 the floor doesnt expand upwards it only expands across its width.

    was there a reason you started from the door wall and worked in, instead of the other way which would have gave you a wider cut around the door

    In your next video when you do your summing up, it would be great to hear the techniques you would use again when building your upcoming workshop and those that you would try something different (and why).
    Thanks for the content.

    Great vid, thanks for sharing. There aren’t many videos sharing the floor covering of your choice once the garden room has been built. The 5mm gap is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks again.

    That's the same type of laminate I bought to do downstairs, it's probably one of the easiest I've ever used in terms of laying.
    For cutting, I found using a jigsaw was the easiest option, as long as you either use a downcut blade (or flip the board upside down like I did) the cuts are nice a smooth. It also helps that my cordless jigsaw is very quiet and I always end up laying flooring at midnight!
    I probably would have put it down the other way to make the room feel deeper, that's what I did as the house narrow but long, it really does make it feel wider!

    I’m still feeling sick from your pose on the work bench. The moment you said you were finished and laid on the floor, I stopped the video and gave you a like. Nobody should be exposed to your sultry pose twice in their lifetime 🤣

    Thinking you might need a new camera or something as it was all pixelating but still a useful video
