When I made these, the elements and complexities of the piece became crystal clear to me and made it easier to track and play fluently. Thanks again for your very appreciated feedback. I wish you many hours of joy and fulfillment playing this beautiful piece! 🎶
Bravo! You are so good, first playing the entire piece so talented and then explaining things so instructional is just wonderful. This is how all music-educational videos, material should be presented. A treasure. Once again, thank you very much!
Hello Carl, thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous words about this performance and teaching video! 🎉 Making the New Layout Charts, analysis, and tutorials are labors of love. Your acknowledgements in support of this kind of presentation is most appreciated and encourages me to continue with this work! 🙏 With very best wishes to you. 🎶
You should be proud of having achieved this level of excellence, with lots of meaning in your playing. Thank you for sharing. It is nice to hear pieces from Rachmaninov as many musicians tend to play the same pieces. Beautiful dress, too !

Sally, I've been working on this prelude for several months and I really appreciate your insights and explanations. I learned many new things and I'm going to love playing it even more with new ears and refined choreography. Thank you so much!
Hello dbmittens, thank you so much for your beautiful acknowledgements! Hi Chris! What a wonderful surprise to hear from you!! 🎉 Thank you so much for your great words about the performance, lesson, and breakdown of the piece. I really appreciate hearing from you and hope this finds you well and doing lots of playing! 🎸🎵
Hello NormanicusDiabolicus, thank you so much for your wonderful words about this tutorial. You are welcome, it is my pleasure and privilege. I also appreciate your descriptives and completely agree that this piece is very spiritual and expansive. Rachmaninov / Rachmaninoff is a gift to humanity! 🙏 Best wishes to you. 🎶
I have been working on this prelude for the past year…I never get tired of practicing and improving my play…Your playing was quite beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for this video.
Hello gatatl / Greg, thank you for your kind, lovely, and very appreciated words about this video and the playing! You are welcome, it is my pleasure. It is wonderful that you "never tire of practicing and improving." This is a recipe towards excellence, meaningful actions, and fulfillment. I wish you all the best with your journey with the piano and with this piece! 🎹
Just discovered your channel. I’ve been trying to learn this prelude for almost 2 years. If it wasn’t so beautiful I may well have given it up. When I started, even just working out what clef the left hand was in seemed impossible as it changed so often. Bringing out the melody with all the rest going on is the challenge now as well as getting those huge arpeggiated chords and the “ping” notes in the right hand correct. Thanks for your insight. Fancy being able to write something like this. Phew. Your dress is lovely BTW. All the best from rural Australia. 🦘🎶🎶
Hello Soffity, thank you so much for your kind words about this tutorial as well as sharing your experiences about the specific challenges you had in learning this piece. I agree it is such a beautiful piece and is worth the efforts in "staying with it." I also appreciate your warm words about the dress! 💃🏻 With all best wishes to you and with your playing. 🎶
Hello Aldo, thank you so much for your wonderful and very appreciated words. You are welcome, it is my pleasure. I'm so happy the lesson helped you! Best wishes to you and with your playing. 🎶
Sally, you made my week. This is such a beautiful piece. I really appreciate your nicely paced guidance on learning this rich prelude. I like getting your charts and following along as you speak about the sections. I hope it doesn't take me a year to learn this one, but Rachmaninoff usually does!!! Thank you!!
Hello Roger, thank you for your wonderful and very appreciated words! I'm delighted you followed along this lesson with your chart in hand. 🎉 Learning the piece section by section and seeing how they are the same and how they are different was a big help for me in learning this piece. It's not how long it takes us, but how much joy it brings us in the process! I'm pulling for you every day of your practicing. With continuing best wishes to you and with your playing! 🎹🎶
Hi Sally, Beautifully done. Your tutorial is as usual well thought out and a must have to get through this great piece of music. I so like your lovely and peaceful teaching style. Always a blessing to study and practice music with you. ❤
