Purchased a 1974 125 KX at age 14 and absolutely loved the bike. Had friends riding a Suzucki TM, a Honda Elsinore, and about every other 125 cc competitor, none of which could come match the speed of this thing in a flat out drag or in mx racing.
I was racing a TM 125 Suzuki back in 74 before the RMs come out..,a good friend of mine here in Australia had this exact same KX in the day,but his had the American DG performance package fitted with better shocks, swing arm and the so eye catching Gold porcupine head, plus other upgraded mods..If I didnt see it for myself i wouldnt believe..it used to keep up with the Honda CR250M Elsinore green striper in a straight line drag first 3 gears only..Those where I best years of my racing career without any doubt.
