I can vouch for Nick here, I had a chance to try this tripod out and it is one sweet setup, loved the ball head. I'm surprised you're not keeping it, Nick!
Robert from Social Circle, GA. Currently I use a Vivitar TRP-SW67 tripod which is light and gets the job done, but, I struggles when the lens is heavy. The problem is it has a middle pole and I struggle to get close to the ground. For this I have rediscovered a tiny Velbon Mini Tripod that lets me get about 6 inches from the ground, even though it is a little unsteady. I bought this in the early 80's when I was in the Army. My wife and I love your channel and hope to one day do a workshop with you when the world is a little less crazy.
Nick, My first ever comment on RUclips is on your channel. I have greatly enjoyed your videos and the presentations as well as how you as part of the "Fab 4" have made getting back into photography after a 25 year absence more exciting! My gear is old (Metal Everything, a SLIK 35-D: no carbon) and making sure that when I make future purchases on something new, I would prefer to only buy once for a quality piece of equipment so your reviews are a great help; if your willing to send it to Texas I will make sure it gets plenty of use as I start back into the new digital age of photography and add to the wear and tear!
I'm currently on my first ever tripod, which is in use for 7 Years now (a manfrotto 190). Since my Gear got heavier and the tripod grew older, I've been looking for somenthing that can support the weight and is a little bit higher than my current tripod so I can work with the camera on eyelevel😅 I would love a PMG setup. I've been looking into the brand for 2 Years but I couldn't justify paying the price for it. It would be perfect for my landscape work but also for the Videos I sometimes did for my University in Germany because my current tripod isn't doing very good with the weight and the motion while filming. Because I'm a one-man-show when doing photo or video work I would really benefit from not having to worry about my current tripod collapsing😅 I've been wondering when you would look into PMG😊 There are very little but valid reviews of PMG and with this long-time review there's one more quality video. If I could afford it, my choice would have been PMG over RSS just due to the smart leg-mechanism.
I'm from Wenatchee, Washington and I have a GEEKOTO 58" Lightweight Aluminum Tripod I bought on Amazon. I'm just starting out at 62 yrs old but better late than never! Love your channel and seeing so many places near where I live.
If I had a nickel for every time I was told my ball head is too big, maybe I could buy a $1000 tripod! My better tripod is a Vanguard Alta Pro, and I'm not completely happy with it. It didn't come with spikes and it's not that steady near full height. Currently, my ball head is on a little Dolica travel tripod I use for backpacking, and yes, the ball head looks ridiculous on that tripod. For what it is, that little Dolica has been a great tripod. It's survived treks around home here in Arizona, and it's even been to both coasts and half a dozen states here out west. The ball head that came with it was awful, though. Best of luck for all hoping for the free upgrade!
I purchased my Manfrotto MT294 seven years ago before my trip to Iceland and have used it on my photo trips ever since. I haven’t been happy with my current set-up for quite some time. I’ve been looking every so often for a replacement, but the tripods friends have recommended are more than I can afford and I don’t want to buy another tripod comparable in price to my own. I would be thrilled to be the lucky winner of the Promedia Gear Tripod and Ball Head. Thank for offering this up, Nick. Writing from Los Angeles, CA.
Hey Nick, thanks for the honest and sponsor free reviews. That makes a huge difference knowing no one bought and paid for your opinions on the product. I'm from Sedro Woolley, Washington state and currently I use a Benro carbon fiber something number.
Salem Oregon, Neewer 64". My Wife and I have been a fan of your channel for a long time. Nick you are very inspiring. I am an avid Amateur Photographer, but low budget. I use Gimp for post and used Nikon D7200/D5200 equipment. Your adventures amd artistic touch have encouraged me to try new techniques and learn more. Thank You for what you do here on youtube!
I live in Kansas City, MO and currently have a Manfrotto 190XProB tripod that was a hand-me-down from my husband... after he got the same RRS ball head and tripod that you were using and showing in videos a while back. Thanks for the great content! (even though it occasionally causes him to spend money😉).
Ok I’m impressed! I’ve been using a 40 year old Tilt-All aluminum three section legs. Your pod has convinced me to move on up to the current century. Great vids. I’ve learned much. Keep them coming. :)
Hi .... photography is the only thing keeping me alive ...no hyperbole...its saving my life...I had some cheap piece of junk that lasted longer than I deserved ...its a beautiful thank you for your site ...wither way you have a new subscriber and follower
Hi from Wisconsin Nick. I own a RRS 34L that I purchased after viewing one of your prior videos. It's highly functional and it's a nice upgrade from my other tripod. Like you and others have said, "buy nice or buy twice." Thanks for all you do Nick.
I currently have a Leofoto 284C which is my first proper carbon fiber tripod. I'm really happy with it, it's light and compact, perfect for travel but still sturdy enough, the only downside is the leg angle is 22° instead of the usual 25° which makes it less stable in windy conditions and with long lenses. I've also recently been trying to shoot the moon with stacking (the only thing I can shoot from home since I'm in lockdown in Italy right now due to coronavirus) so a bigger and sturdier tripod like this would be perfect for that. I'm from Tuscany, Italy. Great review Nick! It's always nice when I see you pop up in my inbox notifications and lately, you're crushing it with videos, can't wait to see some overlanding adventures with the ZR2!
I have been silent viewer of your channel for sometime now, there is a sense of calm and genuineness about your work & channel Nick, love it, keeping it going. I use gazelle tc5 with benro ballhead, based in Bellevue WA (#pnw)
Hi Nick. I am using a Benbo 1 and a cast iron 10 foot Manfrotto which is so worn that it has no paint or markings left. Which I carried a mile up a mountain along with a stepladder in the Lake District. Just to get a tree below the horizon. Took me a week to recover. I live in Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom.
Currently using a cheap afaith tripod, has worked so far over the past five or so years, but definitely showing its age. I'm from Massachusetts, and generally shoot around here, but have started traveling more and more to get shots. Great review Nick and good luck to all!
Meridian, Idaho checking in! I use an old first generation Manfrotto 055CX. She’s old and abused, chipped, dropped, dunked, rode hard, put away wet and needs to be retired. Love your videos! Hopefully I can get in on one of your workshops someday.
I'm Matthew and I live in the Philippines. My girlfriend actually contacted you on my birthday to send me a greeting and your response meant the world to me. Coming from a place half way around from you, the degree of inspiration hits so much differently. I'm currently using a thin Benro aluminum tripod that's already hit its limit. Continue your great work and safe shooting!
I currently use a Ranger 57” tripod and started my photography journey about 3 years ago. I have been watching your videos from the start and you have been an inspiration to me. The tripod would be an awesome upgrade to my gear. I hope you and your family is safe in these troubling times.
EXCELLENT review and very much appreciate the substantial presence of this Promedia Gear 344l tripod + BH1 ball head. Would make a valued improvement over my main Benro tripod that is currently in use here in Nebraska. Thank you for all the great product you provide!
Currently using a 7-year-old Manfrotto under my Sony, but this tripod would enable me to dig out the 10x8 which needs a beefy undercart and so doesn't see the light of day. Hampshire UK. Great channel, extremely watchable content. I hope you've got a lot of unpublished stuff to keep we self-isolationists entertained for the next few months. Keep up the good work.
I have a Calumet tripod I bought at the San Diego location about 15 years ago. Remember Calumet? Yeah, they went out of business a few years ago! I live in Hemet, CA., about 30 minutes away from the beautiful San Jacinto mountains and 40 minutes from Palm Springs. I learn a lot from your videos. Keep up the good work!
Hi Nick, another great video as always, My current tripod is a Promaster XC525. I do mostly landscape, I am from Colombia but living in Australia. All the best even if I don't win. You are so authentic mate.
Hey Nick, I’m Greg from Delaware, I’m using a 12yr old carbon fiber tripod (from the Calumet stores that went out of business) the legs are beginning to twist, would love this beauty. Thanks for offering this up, love the channel and your photography. Cheers!
Nick, Your channel has been a huge inspiration for me; the way you approach composition and are so meticulous with your images causes me to want to slow down and really relish the process! A tripod like the Promedia would make that extra patience easier, to be sure. I’m a landscape photographer from Knoxville, TN, and I’m currently nursing a well-loved VEO625 back to health after picking up some sea salt in Norway, Iceland, and two weeks in California.
Great review, Nick. Peter from Maine here. I use a Vanguard 263 AB 100 with a Colorado Tripod Company alluminum ballhead. It's a solid, inexpensive, mid-weight tripod, and the addition of the CTC ball makes for a nice setup. Always looking to upgrade, though!
Nick, great video review. My wife was near and half watching. She was concerned that the person who won it would have to deal with the salt and sand, and a few minutes later you addressed it. I'm shooting with a Vanguard Alta Pro 2+ 263 aluminum. Danny D. Chicago, IL
Thanks for a great review of your tripod and ball head. I currently use a Benro Mach 3 tripod and Sirui K-20X ball head and they are great tools for this photo novice. No need to include me in your give-away consideration as many of your other subscribers are more deserving or have a lot less than I do. The ProMedia ball head looks amazing. It's big dial and the fact that you indicated it rotates beyond 90 degrees puts this accessory on my future list.. I'll definitely be looking for this ball head to go on sale. Mahalo and Aloha!
I'm from Scotland and been using Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro (old model) with 498 RC2 Ballhead tripod for several years now. It's quite beat up over the years but still works. Love your work, always inspire me to go out.
Hey Nick! Great video sir. I'm from Pennsylvania and currently using the Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB. Since buying this tripod I can really appreciate the idea of having a taller tripod. Here in PA I'm constantly shooting on a steep hill and extra leg length sure seems like a better setup. Keep up the great work!
I currently have an older Gitzo tripod with an Arcatech Ballhead. I’m from Tualatin, Oregon a suburb of Portland. You are the first RUclips channel I followed. Through your site I have discovered other great RUclips channels but I like that you are “local”. PNW rules!!
I'm in Mississippi, and am currently using a Manfrotto 190, with a Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W tripod head. Not a lightweight setup by any means! I enjoy your content. Thank you for all your work!
I’m just starting out and building my gear stash. No tripod yet! But I’ve been binge watching your videos. Your content is dope and I’m learning SO MUCH. This tripod looks amazing! Thanks for all the content.
I'm from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have a Manfrotto 190XPRO4 aluminum 4-section tripod with ball head. It's been my best friend since 2014 but would love a chance to upgrade to this monster. Thanks, Nick! Keep the content coming.
Hi Nick, I am from Tasmania, Australia. I have a second-hand Manfrotto 290 Dual Alu 3-Section Tripod with 496RC2 Ball Head. It's a super heavy tripod for when I take it out into our wilderness area! The additional weight it adds to my pack means that I am perpetually in training at the gym to maintain my fitness and strength to take my photographic gear out on multi-day hikes. Great review, thanks heaps!
Currently using Induro CLT203 and ballhead systems. Living here in your home state of Washington it was key to have a heavy duty set up for those creek shots! Keep up the great work Nick!
Hi Nick. Excellent review. Since you asked, I use a 60.00 Amazon tripod. Loose legs from the screws opening up as you noted. Ball is ok but stuff and gritty sometimes. Had to add my own set screw to the pan mechanism. All in all I make it work. Very generous of you to offer to give yours away. Thank you for putting out a great channel and sharing your knowledge and beautiful photography. Best regards from NJ!
I have a Manfrotto GT Advanced Carbon Fiber Sony Tripod. I am from Cedar City, Utah. I live your videos! Learn so much and it inspires me to be better!
Hey Nick! I’m from Fresno, CA and currently using the ProMaster Specialist SP425 w/ SPH36P ball head. Thanks for this opportunity. Stay safe and healthy!
I’m currently using a Sirui 2204 Tripod & K-20X ball head. I’m from Southern California. Thanks for your outstanding videos & very inspiring work flow!!
I currently use the Manfrotto 055XproB which after 500 yds or more weighs 700kg (im sure of it) and would love this new tripod. I currently live in Stockton-On-Tees in North East UK. Love your channel BTW Nick and the variety you bring to each vlog. Always a pleasure watching (and learning). Keep up the great work and stay safe in this difficult time.
Hi Nick, I live in Lake Tahoe, NV. Just ordered a Nikon D3500 on its way. I have a flimsy Sunpak 800I UT tripod from years ago. Wanna start shooting like a pro. I'm gonna need something with some meat! Love your work all the way around!
I have a PMG 1 year ago but of the basics and it is a wonder to clean and to use it, but I have mounted a ballhead sunrise not very good. That ballhead must be wonderful. I would already like to have one high and higher than the one I have.
Indianapolis, Indiana- Currently on a Manfrotto 190 with a geared Manfrotto head. I've been saving up for an FLM tripod since you reviewed it last year. This one looks to be pretty similar and robust also. Thanks for all you do Nick, appreciate it.
Nick, you said it all when you said that "You get what you pay for." That sums up my tripod life. I have always been too cheap to invest in a quality unit. I've bought cheap Vanguards, found old ones in the thrift shop and took several chances on Amazon. I have probably shelled out more money over the years that this set up costs new. Right now I am suffering with a Ranger tripod I found on Amazon. I know you will miss that fine piece of equipment but rest assured that I would give it a good home if you chose me. Regardless whether you choose me for the tripod or not, I love your videos, keep them coming. I've learned a ton from you. Dave from Virginia.
I'm currently using the newer edition of the Vanguard Alta Pro here in Arizona. Seems like the quest for the right tripod never really ends. Watching this definitely makes the case for investing in a nicer one! Thanks for the great video as always.
Hi Nick, Coming to you from the Netherlands. Never heard of Promedia tripods, but very interested! Still using my old rusty, salty, sandy Gitzo tripod. Thanks for all the contributions (especially the 5daydeal about dodge and burn!).
That's definitely a beast of a tripod. Would be so useful for the large groups and teams I'm often working with using my current Manfrotto element. Thanks for the content as usual Nick, keep up the good work and stay safe during these times.
Just across the pass from you in Tacoma. I'm Paul and am using an ancient Leitz Tiltall with an RRS panning clamp for DSLR work. I also use a Ries wooden tripod with an Arca Swiss Monoball head for large format. That BH1 ballhead looks like the knees of the cyborg army that will enslave us all. Kinda creeps me out,.... but I'd love to have it. Best regards, Paul
I currently shoot with a 3 Legged thing Winston and a 3 legged thing ball head here in Langley British Columbia Canada. I could use a taller and beefier set up to move my photography forward. Thanks you for the time you put into your RUclips channel I always learn something new. Have a great one and happy shooting.
I have an old Manfrotto aluminum tripod with a newer Manfrotto ball head converted to arca Swiss clamp. Watching your channel from locked down Santa Cruz California.. great channel.
Hi Nick. I love your videos. I'm currently using a Mactram Calsbad here in Pomona California. Awesome channel, I've learned a lot from you over the past year since I started into photography, Thanks for all that you do!
Hey Nick. I came over from Thomas Heaton, he recommended you. I have a Mactrem Carlsbad, which for the money is great, except for the ball head, which struggles with a longer lens. I'm in Yuma Arizona and could use a steadier tripods on my trips out to the Imperial Sand Dunes. Keep up the awesome work!
Hey from Northport, WA - I love your reviews and field trips (vlogs)... you are an inspiration to me for sure. I currently have a Neewer CF tripod, and it is honestly pretty decent until you take it outside where it is too short, and unstable for the areas I like to shoot. The Promedia seems like a beast and I can see myself beating the living hell out of it dragging it around NE Washington. Thank you for providing great content - already looking forward to your next video.
I currently use a Really Right Stuff carbon fiber tripod with a Really Right Stuff Ball head. I live in Virginia. I really enjoy your RUclips videos. Please keep up the good work in educating us.
I'm currently using a 10 year old Vanguard Alta Pro here in Melbourne Florida. It has been a decent tripod, but the ball head was lacking so I mounted a Benro geared head for architectural work. Keep up the great content!
Hi Nick, Thank-you for another great and informative video. You are always dependable to give the right information on a product. I can only say that tripod looks amazing, I cannot believe the length of those legs and no centre column to boot! As a 6'5" photographer this would be a perfect addition for me. Currently I'm using a Manfrotto 3 section aluminium tripod (which doesn't even have an arca-swiss mounting plate). I'm in Dorset, England.
I'm in Texas City, Texas and I use several different tripods, but the one I use the most is from Feisol. It really holds up well to the muck I put it in and it is taller than any other tripod I have ever owned. Great review!
I have a little travel tripod that just doesn't work with my heavier lenses. I've been looking into the promediagear tripod for some time, but since I'm not a pro, I just can't justify the purchase right now. I can't believe you are giving this one away to some lucky winner.
Great review mate. I currently am just starting out on my photography journey and don’t have a tripod. I’m 6ft 4”, and am finding it super hard to find a tripod that’s tall enough, sturdy enough and light enough for travel/trekking, and doesn’t cost the earth 😳. This tripod looks awesome and have been reading up on it lately too. I’m Australian, but currently living with my family in Chiang Mai, Thailand doing some volunteer work. Love your channel, appreciate your honesty and explain things clearly. Keep it up.
Love your videos Nick, in fact I just bought a WACOM tablet after watching both yours and Tom Heaton's reviews. I currently have a MEFOTO Roadtrip. When travel is permitted again, I intend travelling to some of the more wild and distant parts of Australia. That tripod would definitely survive the outback.Bring the F4 Boys down here to Oz, I'll shout you all a beer!
Nick, a very informative video. I'm still using a Vivitar Tripod I purchased in 1975! It has two handles but no bubble level to adjust the camera position. There is a knob that releases the center column's height or the reverse it for low level captures. The tripod also doesn't have a bubble level, I use a bubble level in the camera's hot shoe to level everything I would like to upgrade to a more modern tripod and this Promedia Gear 344L and BH1ball head would do everything I need. I live in Bridgman, MI, been a subscriber for a couple of years now and would love to have this setup.
Another fab video nick, been using the same Manfrotto 055CB since 1990 when in Germany in forces, now back in Scotland its used daily albeit back garden wildlife as mobility on my part is failing, infact the old tripods doing better than i am an fumbling with the multi knobs not getting easier but we carry on with the sessions we have together. Wishing i was cruising the sites your shooting big time. Keep the vids coming. Thanks for sharing your world. All the best
Such a neat looking tripod along with its great review. Live in Vancouver, Wa and shooting with a Slik 833 currently. Thanks for all you share Nick, Much appreciated!
Oh mama! That’s a beauty, right there!! My little K&F concept is cowering in the corner at such a monster. One of these days, I shall own such a thing. Thanks, as always, from Japan.
I'm still on my first tripod since starting photography a couple years ago. It's an Optex Black and it's somehow survived more than 2 years of the Rockies, Oregon Coast and school. We've been through a lot together but it'll be a good day when I upgrade. Thanks for the great content Nick! Greetings from the Okanagan BC!
Melbourne, Australia here. I currently use a Pro Master 525C Carbon fibre tripod. I mainly shoot coastal and seascapes. It takes quite a toll on your gear.
Hi Nick. I enjoyed your in depth review of this well designed and built tripod. I am currently getting by with a Sirui travel tripod that lacks height and rigidity when the conditions get tough. From New Zealand down under.
I have been drooling over the promediagear line up for a while now. But like any true outsider I use what I've got. I'm on a aluminum oben. It does the job but man oh man if I ever got my hands on a tripod like that! Thanks for the great review Nick.
Great review Nick. I upgraded from an aluminum Manfrotto tripod several years ago to the ProMediaGear TR34 and couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Manfrotto always served me well, but when I found myself in howling winds in the Palouse region of Washington and saw my camera shaking atop the tripod I decided I needed a stronger tripod. My Manfrotto is now a backup tripod. Everything I buy from PMG is well made and attractive. I love the Katana Jr Gimbal for my long lens too. Quite the setup on top of these carbon fiber tripod legs. Glenn Preuss Photography
I've been thinking about upgrading my tripod a lot lately. Just this month i sent my Slik 823-CFL in to have its lever locks warranty repaired, and while it wasn't even away for a week, it was enough time to get me looking for something taller and more robust. I didn't intend to be that guy but I think Thomas Heaton landed on my pairing. The specs of his TC7 and pano head just add up for me. My low-ish budget attempt to recreate it was the 823-CFL and their leveling base and a ball head. While they are decently made, it just isn't quite tall enough for me at 6'2", and I ended up with way too many knobs to adjust. You are absolutely right about superfluous knobs. One knob for each axis should really be enough, and the the bigger the better. Looking forward to more F4 shenanigans. Luke from South Dakota
Go Big or go home! I Love my TR424L PMG Stix 77!! ❤️❤️ Im 6’2” and have a bad back so bending over with crappy short tripods had to end! I have the TRBU75 half ball leveling head with the BH1 ball head. It’s my dream setup and cost an arm and a leg but so worth it. When I pick up a gimbal head I’ll be able to exchange heads just by taking the half ball leveling head out with the single levered bolt. I don’t use the spikes yet but good to know to keep them clean. I think I will also put the RRS quick release plate on my head! I like the lower profile you got with yours. Nice to see you finally checked out the ProMedia gear. An other selling point is made in the USA. The company is great to work with if you ever need to. Good luck to who ever wins the tripod! You’ll Love it!
Hey Nick! Came to discover you through the videos of Adam, Thomas and that wacky Fototripper dude. I am currently using a Manfrotto 190 aluminum with the Manfrotto BHQ2 ballhead. I would love this tripod as I am soon to head out on a 3 year RV journey to photograph dragonflies across the US. My current tripod just isn't that steady and the muck of bogs plus lake water and sand have done a number on it. I would be proud to have your set-up as my co-pilot!
Nice review on the tripod. Always look forward to your un-biased reviews. This would never be on my radar as it is out of my budget completely. Currently using an Amazon special Neewer tripod. Viewing from Georgia (USA).
Hi Nick. I currently am using a Manfrotto 055 carbon fiber, weighing in at 1.925 kg. The head is also a Manfrotto MHXPRO-3WG, 775 grams. It certainly takes more time with the "roll, pitch, and yaw" stops as opposed to a ball head, but I really love the camera latch base. Not only is it a lever, but there is also a release that needs to depressed before the latch will allow the removal of the camera. I currently use a Hasselblad V system, as well as a 7D. I find that weight is becoming more of an issue the older I get. While I haven't put this tripod to the heavy use you have, I do find your setup intriguing. Maybe I might be one of the lucky ones. What I really enjoyed was seeing the foothills of the Blue Mountains again. I lived in Walla Walla for six years, and was intending to move back there this Spring. However, given the current state of affairs, I have to put the move on hold until we're free to move about the country. I'm currently in a photographic wasteland in Naples, Florida. Too many alligators, poisonous snakes and other things that can kill you to be out and about in the landscape. Thanks again for a great video!
Chuck from Indiana. I don't currently have a tripod. But Promedia Gear is the brand I decided to get at some point. Great review man, keep up the great videos.
I'm using a K&F Concept tripod currently and would love a new tripod! I would love a tripod that I wouldn't have to take my mitts off, in Northern Ontario during the winter!! Always love the content.
Hey Nick, First started watching your channel when I ran across your video on how to shoot the milky way. Enjoy your pointers. Like most the comments, I use a generic tripod I found at a yard sale. Currently using for my Astrophotography a heavy duty unit that came with my Ooptron skyguider pro. Located over near Lake Steven Wa, Keep up the great work!! Clear skies, Bob
Wauw, now that would really be something. You sending a tripod to the Netherlands! And for me actually owning such a beast is a dream. The one I use is a COMAN EMU TM287A ALUMINUM + C-1 BALLHEAD. The most of the time I shoot in woodland so the hight of yours would give me the extra composition benefit. Keep up the fine content. Greets from overseas.
Stuck in the house during the coronavirus mess, but I am catching up on RUclips videos, and getting some practice editing. I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for what you do from Muskogee, Oklahoma currently using a Zomei tripod from Amazon.
Hi Nick, I'm currently running a K&F Concept Tripod that I got as my first tripod. One of the legs got stuck at the same extension while shooting at -40 Celsius. I'm from Edmonton, Canada. Great review.
I have the cheaper Benro unit, it works but it has its limitations and issues. I'm from north central Illinois and all we have is wildlife, or landscapes to shoot, so were on tripods alot. This would make life so much easier. Love your vids and reviews.please keep them coming. It's great to see people contribute to the photography community for the betterment of photography and their own gain. Thanks Nick !!
I live in Kansas in the KC area. Currently using an older Benro tripod. This new tripod looks awesome, especially that ball head!!! Great review, would love to have it and put it to good use!
Great review, Nick! I'm currently using an Induro tripod with a Surui ballhead over in Newport, Oregon. Keep hoping to run into you over here someday. That tripod would be absolutely amazing!
Nick you legend! Can't believe you're atually giving this away. I live in Sydney, Australia and currently use a Sirui N2204. Because I primarily photography seascapes, my current tipod is beginning to feel the effects of all the saltwater :( I've actually had to resort to just shooting scenes handheld with a high ISO because it's so stiff. Anyway, cheers Nick. You're on the up and up. Stay safe out there!
Love seeing the review done with real life situations over a period of months. Seeing the results of your thorough cleaning was very informative. I have an old Bogen 3001 that sat in my closet for 25 years. Still trying to get my mind around spending the money for a tripod equal to a lens so I would love yours! Living in Southern California near the beach the feet and the leg locking mechanism is quite appealing.
Hi Nick, I currently live in Beltsville, Maryland. But was born and raised on the west coast. I have a Induro CT214 tripod. It has a center post which I absolutely hate because I can’t get my camera low to the ground. I would love to be the lucky winner. Keep up your great videos.
I live in Austin Texas and currently use an Induro c014 as most of my photography is travel. Any portraits or long telephoto sessions I have to revert back to my 25 year old Bogen that weighs a tun and doesn’t break down well for travel. I’m looking to upgrade to something big enough to support my new 60-600mm super zoom for our upcoming trip to Yellowstone this fall. Love the show.
Nice looking tripod. I'm currently using a Vanguard AltaPro 2+ 264CT tripod with their older BH200 head. The Pro Media would certainly be a step up and would work well with my medium format film cameras. I'm in SW Utah. Appreciate your work in publishing these videos.
I would love a tripod like that. I'm currently using a Triopo travel tripod which need to be replaced soon. I'm from Sweden. Love your work, keep up the good work.
I can vouch for Nick here, I had a chance to try this tripod out and it is one sweet setup, loved the ball head. I'm surprised you're not keeping it, Nick!
Adam, is this your official post to put you in the running for the give-a-way? 😀. Don't forget to like and subscribe!
AG I just threw up my beans on toast..
Adam you could trade Nick a pair of wellies for his tripod. :)
Robert from Social Circle, GA. Currently I use a Vivitar TRP-SW67 tripod which is light and gets the job done, but, I struggles when the lens is heavy. The problem is it has a middle pole and I struggle to get close to the ground. My wife and I love your channel and hope to one day do a workshop with you when the world is a little less crazy.
I’m running on a Manfrotto, not even carbon, would love a decent tripod.
I’m from Sussex in England.
Win or not, think your channels great!👍
Nick, My first ever comment on RUclips is on your channel.
Since my Gear got heavier and the tripod grew older, I've been looking for somenthing that can support the weight and is a little bit higher than my current tripod so I can work with the camera on eyelevel😅
I would love a PMG setup. I've been looking into the brand for 2 Years but I couldn't justify paying the price for it.
It would be perfect for my landscape work but also for the Videos I sometimes did for my University in Germany because my current tripod isn't doing very good with the weight and the motion while filming. Because I'm a one-man-show when doing photo or video work I would really benefit from not having to worry about my current tripod collapsing😅
I've been wondering when you would look into PMG😊
There are very little but valid reviews of PMG and with this long-time review there's one more quality video.
Hi Nick, another great video as always,
My current tripod is a Promaster XC525.
Cheers!
Nick,
Your channel has been a huge inspiration for me; the way you approach composition and are so meticulous with your images causes me to want to slow down and really relish the process!
I just got a K&F tripod. A nice and small travel tripod. Living in Athens, Greece fan of your channel, keep on the great content!
Hi Nick,
Coming to you from the Netherlands.
What a great set of legs I have the big benro 48 somthing cant remember the letters without looking.
I have an old inherited Manfrotto I use for astrophotography. I would love to give this a whirl. Toronto Canada. Great walkthrough of the PMG gear.
Hi Nick, I'm from South Africa and currently using a Benro A600F with a KB2 ball head. Really enjoy you Channel. Thanks for the great content.
I'm using a K&F Concept tripod currently and would love a new tripod! I would love a tripod that I wouldn't have to take my mitts off, in Northern Ontario during the winter!! Always love the content.
Thanks for your generosity. I use a Manfrotto 055 aluminum tripod. Love your photos.
Hey Nick,
First started watching your channel when I ran across your video on how to shoot the milky way. Enjoy your pointers.
Like most the comments, I use a generic tripod I found at a yard sale.
Currently using for my Astrophotography a heavy duty unit that came with my Ooptron skyguider pro.
Located over near Lake Steven Wa, Keep up the great work!!
Clear skies,
Bob
Ihailing from Minnesota, I'm using an old Al Bogen suted for studio. more than the outdoors. Glad I came across your channel.
Thanks for the work you do on RUclips Nick. About the tripod, It's nicer than anything I own.
I have been using the Manfrotto 190XPRO for about 2 years and it continues to withstand many trips.
Greetings from Portugal
