I still remember learning to properly knot a tie for the first time...in High School JROTC...only kid in my Class that couldn't do it, felt properly foolish. One of the Cadre, a retired Sergeant Major of the Army, took time to show me how. And the look on his face, man...he knew what was up. Haven't forgotten that to this day.
