If somebody asked me to describe what a happy mood on a nice spring day sounded like, this would probably be my answer
Yep , the sort of music to skip down the road too , and I'm over 80 ! 😉
Amazing! Acronym is always excellent, but this particular performance is some sort of classic. I think Bertali is smiling broadly down from musicians' heaven.
Absolutely no strain required to listen to or watch. An elegant performance to be enjoyed and remembered. Thanks forever.
Antonio Bertali (March 1605-17 April 1669 - Italian composer). Never heard of the guy when I woke up this morning, now I can’t stop listening to this piece, thanks to the talent in this video. This ciacona works that violinist like a rented mule. Would it have killed old Antonio Bertali to throw in a solo for one of the other musicians to give the violinist a smoke break, or whatever violinists do in their free time?
Thanks for bringing Antonio Bertali back to life.
Well, Bach wrote a Chaconne for a solo violin, without continuo group, that can stretch out to 14 or 15 minutes.
But almost as much as I love Adriane Post playing the violin line like a boss, I love watching the continuo players grooving to the recurring bass line.
Music such as this is what made me fall in love with baroque in the first place. It's magical and takes me away to a fantasy world. I imagine myself in middle earth running in The Shire and going on adventures with gandalf.
Early baroque, to be precise. It's almost medieval.
Incredible virtuosity required of the lady violinist !🎉😊
Wonderful music..wonderful violonist!
Wow! A very sweet rendition of this piece! Adriane Post you are terrific. What a heartfelt performance. Thank you.
What a gorgeous version of this musical magic!!! Congratulations to a really fine ensemble.
Brilliant ensemble. Love the violin and guitar. They are perfection.
Acronym's music sounds divine
Brilliant interpretation and performance! Bravo!
Just discovered this thanks to the Boston Early Music Festival this year. I can't stop listening -- amazing work, thank you. :)
keep coming back to this wonderful version - seemingly understated but full of pure skill
Adriane, Your performance is amazing. I never heard such add on from musician like this before.
Just beautiful. Also The von Biber Ciacona you play is a triumph.
Bravissimi tutti!
Gracias Adriane por tan bella interpretación
Divine! Your talent is God's gift to you and what you do with it is your gift to humanity! Lovely performance, dear Adriane! Thank you so much, and thanks to all your fellow performers!
Great music.
By far the best version of this beautiful work.

Listen to 'Il Giardino Armonico'. That said, this is an impeccable version. They catch the magic of the piece here.
Beautiful played, straight from out the Music Heaven!
Bravo! If you ever have a chance to see this in person, don't delay!
June 24, in NH. Going to try and make it. Wonderful ensemble.
Brava Adriane! Bravi tutti! :D
Breathtaking! ❤🎉
¡Such wonderful sensitivity from all ! I listen to it almost as a daily meditation, gracias , gracias!

The most amazing....
Love this!
So good!
Bellissima musica!
Totally awesome
sublime..
@ Simon: Yer lookin' mighty fine here, Mr. Lute Player! A big step up from the days of C&A jeans with Akamus! Hope all is well and cheers from the old country.
The shorter versions by L'Arpeggiata (with arpeggio & cimbalom) are also very good, but I think the improvisation (or caprice) by the violinist here is terrific (Terrence, Not Joanne)
Wonderful!!!
So wunderbar
Non mi stancherei mai di ascoltarlo: divino!
Música para oír con los ojos cerrados

Adriane uses such a light touch on this piece. I like this version better than other versions of Bertali which are more aggressive. I think that unlike Bertali, Cazzati's ciaccona needs a heavier touch.
Exactly what Castiglione meant by "sprezzatura".
The tempo could be a tad higher, but a wonderful interpretation.
Be careful with this version. Open a portal and not easy to restrain magical creatures
...or one may be caught in its web, unable to escape !
SWPL - Stuff White People Like! Nice!
