Honestly to use Patrick Mahomes as a more direct comp here, the Bears are the one team he truly called out in recent years becuase he's said that while he did want to be a Kansas City Chief (who wouldnt with all the talent they had in 2017) Mahomes and his dad have said they were pretty sure he was going to be a Chicago Bear. Because Chicago interviewed him almost last minute, it went well, and he was made aware they were trading up to get a QB. Then they picked Trubisky and KC traded to get him. Chicago is still the only team where he looked at the camera and openly called them out on national television for not drafting him. Now he took KC from good playoff team with talent and, equally, a history of failure that's almost deeper than the Bears, and turned them into the objective next great NFL dynasty thats hunting a 3-peat with a good chance to do it solely because Mahomes is their QB. I dont think the Bears see a player like Williams and makes that mistake again
Drafted #1 by their team and won a superbowl that I know of...... so let's not put too much on the hype. justin can do the same but bigger and faster and don't wear dresses. I would take the multiple first rounders on rookie contracts than take the one qb on a rookie contract that they are hoping to be the one
I don’t think they should lose all them draft picks for him they should build they team and either keep fields or pick another one. And they gone have to give him part ownership of the team if they pick him
Patrick mahomes wouldn't be Patrick mahomes without Andy Reid And that team especially defense.. I'll be very surprised if Caleb Williams ends up being A great quarterback
Why does the media insist on saying the Bears are a bad place to go if you’re a QB based on things that happened decades ago. That logic makes no sense.
Let s keep a G Kc wasn’t known as a Qb factory either or a NFL powerhouse until Patty got there….If Caleb can get it done in Chicago and win a super bowl he will be a legend forever in this city.
The reason the Bears have such a horrible history with the goal of winning the Superbowl is the owners (the McCaskey's) had the wrong Presidents and General managers over the decades. Though financially they did a good job. People were buying into the hype of college drafts, an occasional playoff run, buying paraphernalia and game tickets. Great business. But they didn't know how to create a "winning" culture by keeping "great players" with the organization after they retire. Now we have Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles. I honestly believe that the McCaskey's have made impressive decisions with the hiring of them. It's been a loooong time since I've had anything good to say about the owners and management. I was born in northern IL and was 8 years old when Chicago won the Superbowl in '85. I believe we're in a new era of Chicago Bear football. As much as I like Fields there's no QB that I would like to see him replaced by from free agency or the draft.... except Caleb Williams. It's at this point about the new rookie contract, his recent expression about being excited to be a Chicago Bear and his obvious talent. I believe that Justin could throw 4000 yards and 30+ TDs along with significant running stats with a bolstered o-line and WR depth chart. I believe Caleb would too....as a rookie.
Ok let’s see Williams didn’t make the cfb playoff he got beat out for the heisman and got beat to tears but y’all compare him To greats? Y’all compare his college career to jb? Stop it. His arm ain’t big enough for Chicago weather his body not built for the nfc north…this is a crazy hype train smh
I think there giving qbs too much lead way it’s not a choice where your gonna be drafted they don’t give that to any other position player so go to work and do your job
I understand Acho position on the HC might be gone, but the GM on the hot seat??? have we seen what Poles has done with the team that he STARTED with??? all that dead cap and 0 talent?? Poles has constructed an okay team from trash. Sure that claypool trade was abysmal, but that didn't stop him, he went ahead and did the same thing and got Sweat. That's paid off. So yeah HC on the hot seat isn't good for Caleb, but POles gonna stay there man. Look at what his two drafts have looked like, phenomenal.
People are certainly hyping CW up. I don't watch college football, and I've known about CW since last year because of the hype. Looking forward to what he's gonna do in NFL.
PLEASE, PLEASE... do better. 5000 yards, O-line? There o-line has been horrible because they haven't drafted o-line until recently. The Bears have made bad decisions in the past but, at least, be truthful on their disasters. Talk about trading picks to draft Trubisky. How about the mismanagement of the salary cap from that same group. We have a whole new regime now. No mention of the defense actually being better. No talk of KC defense being the reason Mahommes had the opportunity to win. You all are disappointing.
Doubling Down - The Bears played a last-place schedule. The "D" dominated Back-Up QBs and Rookie QBs and faltered against the others. Hence, why Poles is playing hardball with Johnson. On offense, it's a team of replacement-level players. One WR, One TE, no pass-catching RB (So no checkdown for your QB), No Center... Some will say NO QB, and that's your choice, but I would say NO QB would have a chance to be successful.
Dude! What did Williams do in college...never made the playoffs and his stats were in the middle of the best in college...I don't see anything that makes him the clear top choice!🤔🧐
Empty calories...where did it get them? He was ranked 7th this season, statwise. It wasn't winning football! They were 8-5 this season in the PAC 12??👍🏾🤔😂
Caleb Williams...? I am not sure. The Bears have so many other needs. Give up the first place draft pick for as much as you can get, strengthen your weaknesses and go with Fields.
Caleb Williams is not an elite quarterback nor a generational talent he will end up being the 3rd or 4th best qb in this draft when all said and done this is why there is so much pressure on these young kids because of analysts hyping them up beyond belief and then don't live up to those expectations because the player gets a big head and huge ego
If Caleb Williams is such a great player, these anchors are forgetting that USC was unranked in College Football with this guy as their quarterback. Not a good thing going forward into the draft. Not every 1st round qb in the draft does well coming from college into the NFL. What are these people (anchors) talking about? The Bears need better than this.
You never know the Pros is different he’s great off script but you have to be able to play in structure and his off the field stuff you have to wait and see how he goes.
With all of the hype, if the Bears draft him and trade Justin Fields, I expect the Bears to win at least 10 games next season. If not, they better win at least 8. Plus, I know how crazy the fans and the management is. He has three years to lead the Bears to the Super Bowl and the Bears better win. If he doesn't, the same fans screaming for him to come will be the same ones trying to chase him out of town.
All these “experts” yet 29 teams looking for there franchise QB. Still think it’s about drafting interior first and having support, coaching and trust in that player, I feel some teams cut ties too early or start rookies too soon

As a Bears fan I hope he's as good as they say it's gonna be. That being said I think he's the best quarterback in college But we will have to see how good he is in the pros
I’ve never in my life hoped someone fails but I kinda wanna see Caleb Williams not look good… just because of how y’all pretend like he’s proven something in the nfl already
Poles is safe. Eberflus might not be but I do think they are going with stability. Also, they hired an OC who is a potential HC candidate everywhere else. Built in stability should they want to make a change at HC. Poles is absolutely safe.
Caleb Williams is a Bust waiting to happen
The only qb the experts predicted as a number 1 draft pick that panned out was the manning bros
Burrow and Stafford did, and Goff too depending on your definition
Drafted #1 by their team and won a superbowl that I know of...... so let's not put too much on the hype. justin can do the same but bigger and faster and don't wear dresses. I would take the multiple first rounders on rookie contracts than take the one qb on a rookie contract that they are hoping to be the one
I'm a Bears fan and I agree with Joy on the organisation's reputation / culture of being defensive minded.
Caleb Williams is about to follow that Kyler Murray trajectory.
Trade the pick and get more picks. Caleb Williams is a once in a generation hyped player. You can get alot for the pick
No elite qb, no championship window tho
I don’t think they should lose all them draft picks for him they should build they team and either keep fields or pick another one. And they gone have to give him part ownership of the team if they pick him
Patrick mahomes wouldn't be Patrick mahomes without Andy Reid And that team especially defense.. I'll be very surprised if Caleb Williams ends up being A great quarterback
Why does the media insist on saying the Bears are a bad place to go if you’re a QB based on things that happened decades ago. That logic makes no sense.
They having this conversation without jones isn’t right no objectively on the desk
The bears would be dumb not to draft him. And trade away fields for a decent value in drafts for next year
Lmmfao he said I’m bringing winning and stats 🤣🤣 but your not bringing WINNING STATS IS THE PROBLEM 🤣🤣
Exactly lol saying he’s the best CFB QB ever is crazy… the kid wasn’t even better than Vince Young in college
@lonwoolf7370 jb had the greatest college season by a mile hands down no question. Let's not forget Trevor and Watson and crazy as it sounds fields
No amount of talent can overcome a bad organization...Williams going to be running for his life every snap in Chicago just like Fields
People are certainly hyping CW up. I don't watch college football, and I've known about CW since last year because of the hype. Looking forward to what he's gonna do in NFL.
I'm the one bears guy asking why ain't the ex packer on the desk today. He only guy speaks reason at this table. Lol
I haven't heard this discussed: the look on Fields' face when he was drafted by Chi. He _Never_ wanted to be there.
Shady, that's not what Poles said. He just wants to evaluate Caleb's character
72 touchdowns 10 ints over 8000 yards in 26 games for USC is middle of the best?
Empty calories...where did it get them? He was ranked 7th this season, statwise. It wasn't winning football! They were 8-5 this season in the PAC 12??👍🏾🤔😂
How is the GM not safe? Poles has done a solid job rebuilding the Bears...
Caleb Williams...? I am not sure. The Bears have so many other needs. Give up the first place draft pick for as much as you can get, strengthen your weaknesses and go with Fields.
I appreciate u guys at least not slandering the poor kid like 90%.
1 thing no one is considering is the difficulty of being a QB in Chicago with those high winds ALTERING pass trajectories regardless 🤔
Rarely agreed with McCoy but he’s right here. Acho has ZERO understanding of the situation in Chicago
They’re sleeping on Jayden Daniels like they did CJ Stroud last year
If Caleb Williams is such a great player, these anchors are forgetting that USC was unranked in College Football with this guy as their quarterback. Not a good thing going forward into the draft. Not every 1st round qb in the draft does well coming from college into the NFL. What are these people (anchors) talking about? The Bears need better than this.
If he’s so great why didn’t usc finish better than 8-5 he’s good but I don’t think he’s as good as they think.
Forget the QB build the team first, then you can have any QB and win like 49ers.
Joy is getting better and better with her takes .. Que rica mami ❤️. Love it
“Chicago never had a Qb” 👀 *John McMahon has entered the chat*
Passing on Bryce Young wasn’t anything special the CJ Stroud convo is hindsight points.
This the only sports show in America that talks about this topic often🤦🏾♂️
People said that Trevor Lawrence was that generational talent which they hadn't seen since Patrick Mahomes.
Shady is completely overlooking the situation Acho explained. Shady…nothing you’re saying matters if the team doesn’t win. The bears as a organization has shown us who they are for decades
