He’s not ‘The Man’ for nothing, Roger is one of the most solid guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I ran into him in the pits at Daytona last year. I walked up to him and said, ‘Excuse me Mr. De Coster, but I want to thank you for everything you’ve done for this sport over the years.’ He looked at me and said ‘Thank you very much young man, that means a lot.’

Mates first I have to say I got the biggest respect for Roger DeCoster, he's one of the all times greatest in our sport for sure, as a rider and as a team manager.
But there's one thing I'm thinking about, if i.e. your biggest American hereo Ricky Carmichael would take over the job as the team captain of Team Belgium for the upcomming years, and next year his team would loose it to Team America, would you all then also sit down with him and break in tears cause you'll get so emotional about his passion for our sport if he sits down crying cause his team lost it? Hard to imagine.

Excellent video!!! To see Roger D break down at the end was amazing. His passion and desire to win in this sport after all of these years is truly epic. This is why he is referred to as The Man. He hasn't changed a bit from the 1970's when he was killing it. Anyone suggesting that he be replaced as the team manager for the U.S.A. needs to have their head examined....

    • @Peanutdenver

It'll never happen until he decides to step down. He has the best record as a manger in all of MXON history. USA has been struggling for awhile, but with the effort they put in this year's race it has to inspire other American riders to compete in this classic race. Props to El Hombre, ZO and Cooper, sometimes bad luck just lands on you in racing.

Sidenote , Zach shows his true love of moto here , anyone with Mx in their blood has that sense of awe and tradition when it comes to the mxdn. Nothing has ever shown the state of Mx and how it’s veered into something so ridiculously maximized for profit than this show. Mxdn was THE event , and without fail America would pick its literal top 3 guys and without fail those guys would go ( exceptions through out history of course ) it was the highest honor , being picked meant you were one of the fastest guys out there , and now guys don’t go , pass on being picked and don’t care when america appears to the world as a 4,5,6 place squad. They don’t care that America appears to not be the fastest riders in the world . The mxdn is treated worse now than the actual outdoor season . All anyone in the industry and the riders appear to care about is Supercross . It’s sad . Supercross is sweet but the outdoors is where a rider can truly show speed and what they can do on a bike , Supercross skills are in a vacuum where outdoors is true ability . But now it’s all about the flash and profit . Mx used to be a sport that had a low barrier for entry ( could pick up a suitable two stroke for a reasonable price ) could work it up and be competitive , competitive when there was more competition cause everybody could pick up a bike ect . Now everything Supercross , riding ranches where kid dropped off there at 5 years old and picked up at 16 when he is pro , and four strokes that off the showroom are so expensive that most look to buy used and they are still super expensive . The profit machine FUXKING chewed up Mx and has finally shit it out and now we get Supercross , the shame of a shitty mxdn teams , and having to watch it all on tv cuz buying a bike creates a work load that would no fucking time to ride it , I miss Mx , miss having a bike , miss the feeling that Mx has n what it was . Mostly miss moments that will never happen again, moments like a John dowd at 30 showing up n winning n being picked up , privateers being competitive ect . That’s all gone , it’s fucking nascar now ,

So I'm assuming supercross isn't as important as this race?... I always thought supercross was the world event on MX. I never knew how badass the guys from overseas were. Definitely got some new riders to put on my radar. Congrats to the winning country. You guys pulled thru, kicked ass and deserve it. See you 2020.

Proud of these USA boys. They put in the effort to represent their country valiantly. Gutted for Cooper and their luck. It's a shame Cianciarulo and Tomac were not able to go but that's how the business is in the US. Supercross results > everything. Money rules all in this country.

@@fredgarvinMP it’s a mess, I totally get them and governments are just playing out an agenda. It’s clearly seen. I don’t agree with some of the things they do but you can’t just take away someone’s livelihood. A lot will go out of business and that’s sad. We could temper production here and move business more to other countries but in my opinion you just move the output of gasses to another place and nothing truly changes. Things like airtravels remains untouched which is not okay imo
