Why I Use 2 Planners

- This is my secret to staying productive:
.
After trying countless systems and feeling overwhelmed, I finally found a planning system that works for me. I use one planner for organizing to-dos and daily journaling while the other for time tracking and brain and info dumping.
.
I find that having a separate daily planner helps me to park the information to be sorted later. It gives me a blank space per day to be messy and free. When I time track, I use color-coded markers to help categorize activities, so I can keep my main archive planner neat while the second catches my life's messy details that can be sorted later.
.
You can of course do it all in one common planner, that's what the blank pages are for. But I just wanted to add something where I wouldn't feel self conscious about creating a mess, think of it as a temporary junk drawer.
.
I love using color-coding (shout out to my favorites: Mildliners, and Tombow brush markers!) to categorize different aspects of my life - from outdoor time to homeschool lessons. This system lets me keep my main planner neat while capturing all the messy, beautiful details of daily life.
.
By tracking my activities throughout the day, I gain insight into where my time goes and keep myself accountable. Plus, it serves as a catch-all for those random ideas and bits of info that pop up.
.

I love labeling the highlighters! I never thought of that!! TFS!!!
Hiiii! Do you have a video dedicated to explain your system in detail? I'd love to know more about your "secretary"!
I believe she does, Check out her 2024 system video.
Would love to see a visual I think about so many random things thru out the day
Love the labels on your mildliners. A reminder of what each color is for!
thanks so much!
Same! I never thought to label the markers!! ❤
You have a good system and it ended up helping me find ways to organize my thoughts. Did a quick taking stock of my journal so far and I have decided I would benefit from having a second planner for my “Five minute journal” to capture my day and the weekly and monthly to capture what I did/memory keeping. Going to get it in mulberry! My normal half-year planners will continue to function exactly as it is now - a catch all of ideas, insights, thoughts, story/film breakdowns and planning my days. And the highlighting is a great addition to the system too to make sure I capture the things I need to transfer to my writing tracker/idea-capture system. Yayyyy! Excited for the change!
Interesting! I use my B6 for archiving my life, never thought about using a daily planner too.
thats cool to hear you use your B6 for archiving! and try it out if you want with the daily planner
@@SterlingInk I'm considering it actually!
❤ i am going to be buying 4 of your planners this year! i’m so excited. my system is going to be a B5 vertical main planner, A6 vertical mental health planner, N1 horizontal enrichment, and N2 household/health 🤗
those are great choices for next year and a great system too!
I love your handwriting!
thanks so much!
Another reason to stay organized is that common planners keep you on task, on time, and esp organized. Defintely perfect for brain dumping. Love it all! 🫶🏼🩷
Question: 🙋🏻♀️ will you be including and selling the imperfect 2025 common planners?
yes we will be selling imperfect planner, but only after the initial planners sell out
A fellow homeschooler...so smart
thanks!! ❤️
I am actually going to use the same thing to keep track. So fantastic
What color tombow or mildliner are the ones on the left on July 18, the dusty purple, the dusty blue and the greenish gray please?
I greatly admire your organization! Do you carry both around with you during the day? It seems like you would need both to refer to. Thanks.
Is your annual archive planner a separate planner apart from these? Or did you mean your first planner you mentioned is your archive planner?
I meant the first planner is my archive planner
