so funny that you love unlimited saga and you also have ryu from bof5 as your avatar which is also my favorite rpg on the ps2 which is also ironically another game in the same boat as unlimited saga being horribly misunderstood and hated. @RevJoyful No you don't. However, using those 5 skills will significantly improve your chance of actually GETTING an item. Most important skill is locksmith and defuse. Not only are they essential skills, they are good for high-skill character builds.
Ah! Turn Limits! forgot about that. On main quests, you have unlimited amount of turns, so feel free to go crazy looking for treasure. On sidequests, you have turn limits, and you will be sent back to town if you don't finish the quest. you get to keep items and cash, but loose out on HP and "Stats".
So even if you run into a monster, they may not attack you. Here I thought I was doing something wrong. I’m a tad annoyed I had to look this up, though. No offense to you, dude, I appreciate the effort you put in. I merely mean that there should’ve been an actual tutorial rather than having to jump in blind.
What level of irony is it that your videos teaching about one of the most difficult games ever is completely inaudible because you’re of the massive amount of RUclipsrs that mumble in addition to cranking up background music?

You can also fight mid bosses/fixed battles to get them.
Try for example the mid boss at the begining of Starship Anchors.
