- This short video introduces you to the plastic pollution control project we are developing in Ranong, in the south of Thailand.
In 2019, Jan & Oscar Foundation created a social enterprise in Ranong to collect and sort the plastic waste in order to recycle it. The local communities, among them Moken fishermen, are bringing plastic waste collected on the islands where they live, or on the coasts of Ranong province. The plastic is then sorted and packaged at our centre by a team of people from the Moken and Burmese minorities in exchange for a fair wage.
