Hi Jonathan! Thank You for this piece of info about hip rotation. I have strugled with right foot/leg action on downswing but this video gave me the answer. Sit on right butt cheek in start of ds. Went about 2 hours ago to driving range and shot couple of swing clips with this sit on cheek idea and my right foot/leg work looks now much better. Not thrusting my right hip forward 🥳🥳🥳 Will be practicing this move every morning this week and on range every evening! 🤩

Really liking this series Jonathan. What has really helped me a lot is taking a slightly closed stance with feet flared. Then I straighten my right knee while I pull my right shoulder slightly back & closed. This really helps with the hip turn in the takeaway for me at least.

Ideas like this is why people never get better at golf.

Another thing... Had to come back after another practice session. I added the lead knee slight bend to back swing and something crazy happened. I was using Trackman to check my iron distances for on-season and with that lead leg knee action change my iron 8 carry distance jumped ~10 meters further, like all other iron distances aswell 😵 I have no idea what this change did, maybe timing, attack angle, spin and club speed improved but it was just crazy. Tiny change but huge impact! Iron 6 avg carry out of 13 shots was 168 meters. During winter its been ~avg 159 meters. 👌

Could you please comment on rotating the hips too much in the backswing? I know it may be uncommon, but i believe it has done major damage to my swing for a couple of reasons:
    - lot of ground to cover getting the hips back into position in the blink of an eye during the downswing
    - lack of coil between lower and upper body zaps power
    - hard to clear left hip
I believe i got into this mess trying to make a "full" backswing and staying centered. But now that i realize the fault, when i restrict the hip turn (probably around 30-40 degrees), my lower body feels much more stable and i can rip through the shot with better ball striking and power. I do have flexible hips, so perhaps this isn't a problem for most.

Does the lateral rotation happen naturally? Often referred to as the bump or shift/weight transfer? Great explanation of the hip rotation! Thank you, Jonathan

If I start hip movement before shaft parallel in the backswing, I cannot get to impact well. Ben hogan said let the shoulder rotation move the hips, and that seems to be more my style. Building torso/hip tension early give much better control and power. Some might want to try that also.

Thanks for the great content I’ve been binging the last few days… question, I find your philosophy matches Milo Lines a fair amount, am I in danger of implementing conflicting theories? They seem to pair quite well! (Untrained pleb mind you)

can anyone explain to me when your long game is on fire, your short game isn't worthy off putt putt status? and vice versa...I've witnessed this in other's game as well.. and how to deal with the freaking bad breaks that rears their ugly heads way too often ? I'm ready for one of your fireside chats with drink..
