- Patty Mayo evokes pretty strong opinions whether ya like him or don't. After my initial video explaining why it seems obvious to me he isn't a police officer but commending him for his entertainment value, I thought it'd be fun to get a conversation with him and he was kind enough to do so.
The focus of the conversation was about his background on youtube and what led him to the show material he uses now related to law enforcement. I asked a few viewer questions in the time he provided me to ask them.

Great interview. I have to admit, when patty started doing the "sheriff" stuff I was done. I unsubscribed. I knew the bounty show was not real but that's what it is. But for some reason I was mad not cause I thought it was real, I really dont know why I was mad about it when he started doing the Sheriff show. But him explaining it helped. I had know idea he doesn't know what he's walking into and its improve. That's a great idea and now I'm going to go back and will be interesting and entertaining to wacth. So that's Mike for having him on and thanks Patty for being on and explaining the show.

He was the first to call him out, but he only did this interview cause he didn't have a choice anymore, he was being called out by too many sources (actual Law Enforcement) deeming him as fake/production.

I was upset when I learned his stuff was fake, made watching it seem hard. But learning he’s kept in the dark and he’s reacting to the scene for the first time as we are, makes it more enjoyable because even though it is fake, it gives it some authenticity with his reactions
My issue with Patty is he was called out by Primink very early. But him and his fans mauled everyone who said the show was fake. He's refused to admit it was a made-up show for so long
His fans did that but to my knowledge, he himself never openly said he wasn't fake. I also don't remember him ever going off on anyone who said it. Maybe I'm wrong. I just don't remember that ever happening.

Me too.. but honestly glad I watched so many videos before seeing it was fake. I feel like I enjoyed it a lot more not knowing it was staged. Was funny and entertaining for hours of background noise while I was doing other stuff.

Mike thank you for having this conversation with Mr Mayo completely changed my perspective on how I see Patty and his show. I knew from the start it was a reality show. But originally I could not understand the use of force he displays. But hearing the production process and how much safety goes into the show completely changed my perspective and brought a new respect for Patty and his production crew. I can say that I am completely ok with this man operating in my home state. Hahaa

@Ham Samson he's definitely doing mockumentary type videos but the way they act in CSI for example or other cop shows is also incorrect in many ways. The blood splatter stuff Dexter does is mostly BS but it's still a good show. He's portraying a police officer/bounty hunter but he's not pretending he's one.

I was devastated when me and my sister found out that the show wasnt real my older sister even started to take collage for the bail bond unit.
I stopped watching Patty's videos, a short time after he started doing the cop stuff, mostly because of the lack of this level of honesty. Now that this interview exists with Patty being open about the content he creates, I can go back to enjoying it for what it truly is. The only thing missing before was this. Exactly this.

Always loved pattys content, been watching for years. Ive always knew he wasn't real but that's not the point. I do view it as a show and I respect him for laying it all out on a table and describing how it all works. Keep it up everyone

They don't always get tased but then I'd assume they'd get paid less compared to if they did. Most often they just get tackled and the thing is his taser always penetrates and tases them and the person getting tased is wearing thing clothing for the taser to penetrate

I never watched Patty Mayo before, I only hard of him thru you and Donut. This was a great interview though and makes sense. I'll have to check his show out sometime to see what its all about.

The first time I watched an episode, I thought it was real. Just simply watching and not giving it much thought other than it was fascinating. It seemed that he did NOT know what was going to happen and therefore the viewer did not know what was going to happen...in other words, immersive. The third episode I watched they actually drew their pistols and one of them did not have a magazine in it...my heart sunk... After some thought and watching other episodes with a more discriminating eye I realized it was just damn good entertainment!
It only took a few views for me to figure it out. He puts himself in too much danger. Also, he spent too much time arguing with the subject. That's how I got suspicious. What bothers me is it is portrayed to be real unlike TV where you know its make believe.
I was ready to cringe when I read the title, but was pleasantly surprised ! Patty Mayo seems to have really matured, and Mike did such a perfect interview. I am glad to see that Mayo presents his work as pure entertainment, rather than docu-drama 'reality TV' type content. Well done all around
The topic at hand discussed at 23:00 or so minutes, its the fact that there wasn't any disclaimers or anything (either in the video or even in the description) so people's imaginations ran wild and thought it was real. I think most tv shows have disclaimers before or after the shows to make it known its fake, or if it is based on true events?
Patty's content was blatantly fake from day 1 and I couldn't get into it, but that's okay. I am just glad that he finally has a disclaimer in his video descriptions after being outed/became public that he was a production company.
I wonder what age groups watch his channel, I'd assume its mostly people under 25.

Knowing it's fake definitely takes a large amount of appeal out of the show. But knowing that patty goes into each scenario essentially clueless about what the scenario truly is, adds a bit of magic back into it. Very glad I watched this interview.
