      I only can agree, this guy taught me so much, it is incredible how easy and understandable he makes things. I just separated my iphone xs mainboard on my oven, controlling the temparature with an ir termometer, it worked well and i see now that my charging ic seems to be the problem !
      He is GOD for me...

    You are surprising, not only because of the simplicity that solves things that are complicated, but also because of the patience you have in explaining in such detail. I'm watching every video of his like it's the best Netflix series, and I can't help but be amazed. I acknowledge that I have learned beyond what I thought I imagined, thank you for your dedication.
    A big greeting from Argentina

      You really should add a 25v zener diode to protect the laptop for over voltage.
      I don’t like it that Sorin don’t add a new one too...

    • @arnolduk123
      @arnolduk123 3 года назад

      @@Todestelzer The diode don't protect the laptop, that's why it's in Sorin's hands. It's purpose is to stop the laptop from working when another power adapter with only a few volts over spec is used. Voids the warranty if use any power adapter other than HP. The fuses on the board protect the laptop and using the correct power adapter is what really protects the laptop.

    I have the exact same problem, and to think I found it myself with a chinese multimeter and a zippo petrol is beyond me. If only I came across this video earlier. I should mention that its my first time trying to diagnose a faulty motherboard. You sir are the best of the best. I told everyone that same thing you told us at the end. THE LAPTOP WILL WORK WITHOUT THE DIODE TRUST ME. Its only there to protect from universal chargers which exactly was the case of my laptop and why that diode went faulty. Thank you for all your lessons sir.

    To punish, not protect. I have had this happen several times. Especially with Dewalt chargers. They do not like square wave power supplies. And it is only the Zener diode or coils with micro Henry's.

    Thank you for the new lessons. Thank you for the 21:40 information.

    And now I'm here with some knowledge (like a cup of water from the sea). Now i think i should try to fix a real laptop motherboard. I'm gonna get one from junk yard. I'll try to fix it. (I know its too early, but let me try😂😂)
    Keep up the good work chief..

      @@eddieloius4592in almost all video of his where the motherboard is short,he uses power supply to inject some voltage to find shorts...I think,u just have to inject voltage which wont exceed the amount of voltage on that particular power rail,dont inject 19v into a 1.5v power rail,1v with a reasonable amount of amperage and some petrol would be enough to spot a short component getting hot

    I have seen this diode shorted before in other similar laptop repair videos. It is for reverse power protection. But if this diode shorted out it may have done so to protect the rest of the power circuits. So by not replacing it there will be no protection from this happening again. So maybe it is better to replace it.

    • @igork.2271
      @igork.2271 2 года назад

      Yeah, the only think I am not agreeing with Sorin it's not replacing the stuff he's removing. I believe that they are there for a reason and should be replaced, at least from another old spare motherboard. Other than that he is great at explaining and teaching us electronics repairs.

    There is still one another way to find a short, if it is a mosfet short.
    Gate to source/gate to drain test in diode mode.
    An you should NEVER put 19v on 19v rail especially with 3 amps.
    Because if there is high mosfet short - you'll burn something , cpu of gpu... their resistance is very low, and looks like short.
    First you have to check for short at low voltage coils to +19V, and then, if there is no short, you may come with 3V 1A, or better 1.5V 1A.

  • @worroSfOretsevraH
