I am a nurse, and can tell you that this was an excellent educational video, simple enough for those without the knowledge and experience to be able and help others if needed. You should make more of these type of videos.
I am a retired RN with 24 years ED, 6 years Burn/ICU/CCU experience, plus 15 years in EMS. Now I work part time as an EMS Educator. You taught great lessons for the layperson RV-er to save lives... Outstanding job, Dustin!
A navy search and rescue swimmer here. Thank you to all who stop and provide help to others. Thank you for your service to all my fellow military ladies and gentlemen.
20 year Navy vet with countless hours of BLS and ALS training. I've even had to put some of this training to use on occasion. This was an excellent intro to first aid. Thank you for sharing ❤
In Canada, they no longer want us using a tourniquet because too many ppl have tied the injury either incorrectly or too tight and caused more damage. I have a very extensive first aid kit that doesn't include the chest seal, will definitely purchase a few to keep in my kits. Thank you for the awesome video.
Red Cross is sort of teaching tourniquet use. Not as in depth as it should be done. I was so surprised because St. John Ambulance doesn’t. I was forced to take the in-house Red Cross class because work said they wouldn’t recognize SJA! I felt for an Emergency First Aid class tourniquets are too advanced. But what do I know? Just 15 years teaching first aid & CPR for SJA. I’d love to have the chest seal bandage. That pressure bandage is so cool! I taught students how to use triangle bandages for that…”the workhorse of the first aid kit”.
As a former LE/EMT I can tell you this is one of the best training videos for the lay person. Very very informative with very good points, such as only use the tourniquet on long bones. Dustin you have really performed a great service. Thank you.
Yesterday I had an incident where my ankle and knee left my control and I went down fast. I thought I broke my leg. A nearby RVer came over to my screams for help. What a blessing. He made me call 911. They were ther in minutes and he and his wife took over care for my two 10# pups. What a blessing. Communication was perfect. I didn’t break leg but sprained my ankle. Came home within 3 hours and he picked me up. And they have walked my pups for the last two days. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to packed and Hook up and move. Blessings.
As a Disabled Vet in FL I'm looking to start a live of RV living. It will be just my left. So I'm going to watch your videos and I was the supply guy in the Army. Thank you for your service and knowledge.
Lots of nurses writing in, lol. Ex-ICU here. Best, most useful RV video I’ve seen and I’ve been doing a deep dive this past year in anticipation of getting our first rig. Way to go and thank you! First responder care is vastly different from ICU. Adding your recommendations to my newbie start up list and subscribing to your channel!
Great Video! Direct and to the point. As a retired FD Paramedic and Retired ARC instructor from a major retailer you have provided a service with this video. Thank you.
I work in a school. Each classroom has a kits similar to this. I learned more from your video than any of the training that we received. I hope to never need to use it. Thank you for the info and for your service.
So good of you to put this one out. Brian trained soldiers in a real war time senario dug a hole for the soldiers leg to go down and had blood pumping out had others shot with blood and other with guts laying out to give a real time feel what they would possible experience in their next theatre. It helped to condition them and identify those that would freeze and not follow through with training to do over again in another senario. Thanks for that laugh (neck)!! Such good information. Thank you for your service and being a combat medic!!! Shared!
Trauma medicine in combat is definitely not for the faint of heart. I loved it but several I knew froze up and could not perform. You never really know how you will react until you are put in the position.
Amazing video, I am a First Responder and could have used a trainer as knowledgeable as you during training, you should be proud of yourself for this video! Leslie, thankyou for being brave enough to be his victim😎
Thank you for this information! Our campground is opening for the season in a few weeks, and you never know what will happen when a bunch of middle aged men and women start doing stuff they aren't used to doing! Sharing with my group!
Middle aged? You might just be overly optimistic? My two friends and I are headed out this summer. We are 71, 72 & 74. Two of us have been 60% bed bound. Something irrational can happen with the geriatric brain. You suddenly realize that your time to experience life is coming to a close. It will be a hoot and we’ll at least have each other. All of us are nurses, one also an MD and the other also a Psychologist. God willing, we’ve got our bases covered but I hear what your saying. I hope your camping season goes really smoothly!
Good video for basic life-saving first aid. I'd also recommend that older folks carry a "home" AED. They are very portable and would be a life-saver when you're not near a medical center. Philips makes a good unit that is easy to use. We carry ours with us in the rig on travel day just in case. Happy, and healthy, trails!
Great job Waggs and with the lovely Leslie being an excellent, model patient! BTW... since last seeing you ... I've just graduated EMT school and prepping for the NREMT exam. EMS volunteering with the local squad. Delivered my first baby already. Who knew?1?!. Next? Paramedic? PA? Maybe! :). But really great video !!! The "sucking chest wound" was spot on! And your segment on prepping the tourniquet for the event of self-use was EXCELLENT!!! They didn't even teach that in EMT school! Really solid advice!!!
We had a lot of fun putting this one together. Leslie was a great casualty. Hopefully she learned something too just in case she has to ever patch me up.
Great video! Glad you did this video. It’s great to know how to help someone who’s injured in a car wreck or in an Rv. Or someone on roof who fell. This safety procedure helps. Hopefully I can do this and help whoever’s injured. Thank you Dustin and Leslie!
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing this. I have had training and carry a trauma kit but did not know about rolling the victim to their injured side after applying the seal! I will definitely share this with my camping friends.
Great information!!! I just recently updated my emergency first aid kit…the usual bandages, gauze, antiseptic, etc. - knowing that that wasn’t going to do much in an actual emergency, but didn’t know what else to include. Will definitely add this kit. Would love to learn more. You quickly mentioned shock and trying to keep the injured calm - I would like to know more about that, too. All this is vital information in an emergency situation. Thank you for putting this together.
Great advice! Mike is a first responder and we have stopped to help in situations many times. Shelley (I) on the other hand can’t stand the site of blood.
Wow that was absolutely awesome 💯 on explaining the processes with the emergency items used ...if you guys can do more of theses as a refresh to us none medical field people in the future that would be great 👍, Thank you for all your content & time in these videos as well as remembering our fallin heroes 😊 Thanks again
Great video! You were so well spoken and informative. You may have just found new content series for the Rver. I am a retired RN and went overboard on our medical kit , but wanted to be ready any type of emergency.
This is some great knowledge you have shared with us. Thanks for the education and links to get the equipment. Now we just have to keep a clear head to put this into work.
You do not do the ABC anymore. You first check for a pulse while checking to see if they are responsive than you go right into compression and then 2 breaths.
Really, really great video guys! Let the ordering begin or at least getting on our Amazon Cart till we get to TT Colorado River where we can get deliveries. Thank you for doing this video!
Very informational! I am a first responder at my workplace and can appreciate the information here! What would you recommend for a portable defibrillator that doesn't break the bank account?
I love this video, but I do have one question: Is there any way to stabilize the c spine without a c collar? I used to be a volunteer first responder, and we had c collars in our packs we carried. I'm guessing a towel, or may be something kinda hard on each side of the head and taped in place.
Great question. Yes, you can roll up a couple of towels. Put one on each side of the head and neck and tape around the forehead to secure the towels. If you have multiple people on site, you can just have someone hold the head and neck stable until EMS arrives.
They must be out of stock. I just created a new link to the next best trauma kit I could find on Amazon. It doesn't come with a chest seal so you would have to order that separately.
Nurse too. Great video; thanks; saving this! Almost started the first breath of CPR on a person, while in the aisle of a commercial flight, which was in the process of emergency landing for her.. was a vasal vagal, so turned out fine, but way more exciting than I normally prefer a flight to go.. 🫣 (got a free ticket out of that)

We definitely will. Thank you.

As former Law Enforcement & first responders this video is spot on! We travel with all the same equipment & kits with us too!
Thanks guys. This is important stuff. We wish we had done this video sooner.

Oh my gosh. We are glad to hear it isn't broken. We hope you heal up quickly.
Wow. This video brings back memories of when I was in the Air Force taking my annual self aid and buddy care class.
Hopefully it was a good refresher for you.
My husband said you must have really enjoyed your time as a 68W. Ur training reminded him of his EFMB (1976) n EMT (1977) testing!
I did love it and I miss it from time to time. Doing this video was a lot of fun.
As a retired firefighter/EMT this was a great video. Used it as a refresher 😁. But again great video this week guys.
Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed it.

Excellent video Dustin. If you guys help one person - that would be amazing. Very clear and solid, I felt your passion for what you were sharing.
It really is my passion. Trauma medicine has always come naturally to me and I love it.
that good u had a living casualty i hated useing the plastic and rubber dummies when i was in army as a MP
😂 Ya. Leslie did an amazing job. I was trying to talk her into doing some mouth to mouth without the mask. 🤣
I was going to order a new First aid kit for the RV. I have been through alot of that training from the service., but a refresh course helps
Thanks .
Great video. Thank you for doing it. I love watching your videos. I love our Vets. Yes I did share it. 🙂👍

EXCELLENT video. Thanks Sarge.

Thank you. Happy to help.

@@WaywardWaggsI was thinking the same, even $1200.00 for one is a little expensive for us.

We had a lot of fun putting this one together. Leslie was a great casualty. Hopefully she learned something too just in case she has to ever patch me up.
This was an important and well done video. I was happy to share it. It may really help someone. Thank you!
Thank you. We appreciate it. Hopefully it helps some people out there.
Thanks again for sharing the fallen hero at the end of the video. His family and friends will not forget him.

Great educational video. I have a real nice first aid kit for the RV and a smaller one for my backpack when I go hiking.
It is always good to have it just in case.
Thanks for the important info. Already have a mouth piece but I will be adding the chest seal and tourney to my first aid kit. Thanks Again!
We hope you never have to use them but it is good to have them.
Great video! Glad you did this video. It’s great to know how to help someone who’s injured in a car wreck or in an Rv. Or someone on roof who fell. This safety procedure helps. Hopefully I can do this and help whoever’s injured. Thank you Dustin and Leslie!

Excellent video, thank you very much!
Thank you! Excellent job! Great public service announcement!

Thanks for listening 😊
Wow! This was great information! This was so easy for someone with little or no medical training to understand.
Thank you. I love teaching medical stuff and Leslie made a great patient.
@@WaywardWaggs She sure did!
Thank you for the video very educational 👍🏼

Great job!! Leslie is such a good patient. Donna always volunteered for that duty 😂
I was trying to get Leslie to do a little more mouth to mouth but she wasn't going for it.

Great information! Another item added to my Amazon cart 🛒. Thank you.👍🏼😎
Thanks. Hopefully you will never have to use it.
Good video ...good lesson. I like the rhino pak.
Unfortunately they are out of stock on Amazon at the moment. I had to link the next best thing I could find.
Well done. Very informative.
Thank you.
Wonderful information in this video! Thank you!

Thanks guys!
Great video, would have loved you as a trainer in our military units.
I loved training in the military and bonus is it could save lives. Everybody wins.
This was soo good, even though you may not be an RVer.

good info, thank so much for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching 😊
Thank You so much for sharing, very well done and informative. Always carry a small kit and never dawned on me otherwise to carry other supplies.
Some of these items can be intimidating. We wanted to show how easy they are to use. Hopefully it helps some people out there.
You do not do the ABC anymore. You first check for a pulse while checking to see if they are responsive than you go right into compression and then 2 breaths.

We have looked and have not been able to find any at a reasonable price. I would love to have one.
