1:19: nothing signals more that you are from Japan and a martial artist than being an asian guy wearing jeans with a leather jacket in a provincial Chinese city
It's the way he walks, and yes I know you think they all look alike. Boris Akunin who lived everything Japan, and wrote about ninjitsu in a bunch of crazy fun novels explained that there are only some few types of Japanese faces. This is due to no foreigners allowed in Japan for centuries. You can just tell a Japanese the way he explains it. I'm sure the Chinese can tell easily enough. You can tell an Italian, or say an Irishman? Or a an ethnic Jew in my own case right? You can just tell.
As somebody who has been both in Japan and China I can tell that there are many different types of faces in both countries. China alone has more than 50 other nationalities inside. Therefore just judging by looks it is not always granted that 1 person is 100% from Japan and another - native Chinese. As for the way Ryo walks - he was not born a samurai. Rather a son of a martial artist. Therefore speculating that his walking manner exposed him - is quite a stretch

Perhaps it just looks like one of the familiar Japanese ... Japanese faces do not differ in variety, anthropology distinguishes only twelve main types. This is due to island privacy. There was no influx of alien K-blood ... Boris Akunin "The Diamond Carriage". This author speaks fluent Japanese, been there a lot. His books are about a European learning Ninjitsu, and then sort of being a Batman-Sherlock Holmes. The Chinese were occupied by the Japanese earlier. Many do know these types seeing them. I know it's hard to imagine, but try, and you can.
Kinda surprised at how not completely garbage the voice acting is. It's not amazing, but I think the cheese is more intentional this time as well.. Especially since I notice some high profile names in this trailer and I know they can act. (JYB, the guy who plays Shinji in P3, his name escapes me)

He doesn't have to show the game, just talk, show some artwork maybe. Nothing revealing too much of the 3, just fun stuff.
The perfect sequel and this is why...you are getting exactly what you would expect if a Dreamcast game got a graphical suit up in some textures, but not to the point of being too unfamiliar in design. It's kinda what happened with Kingdom Hearts 3 almost where yes there are texture upgrades, but deep inside, the core design, look of the character models and feel of the dialogue is still very old school style.
Know what would be amazing? Revisiting Ryo's house. In Shenmue 2, you ventured off a lot more and the places were beautiful, but since Shenmue 3 will bring the story completion to 40 percent (most likely because of the stunning amount of small detail and options to get sidetracked or the story really is that long) it'd be cool to just see those places pop up even if Ryo isnt there, i guess
They can do that if SEGA allows, it owns the rights to 1&2, it once again cashed in on Yu's work making the stupid remakes with almost zero effort to add simple features 1 lacked, or both 1&2 lacked. "waiting", the rumble effects. Adding more polygons, making better textures as modders are now doing no thanks to SEGA, in spite of SEGA. I've read that Yu had to recapture all the martial arts moves fresh. They didn't even allow him his own Virtua Fighter assets. People don't know it may have been why the fighting looks and works a bit differently now. Even the mechanics he created way back when are this new greedy SEGA's IP. Sad, but there you are.
My only concern is how are they gonna explain the floating sword at the end of Shenmue II... for the rest, I am genuinely satisfied to feel these familiar Shenmue vibes such the music, qte, combat system which seems decent and of course the cringey dialogues... that's the mood!
Yeah this has been bothering me too, I've always had a horrible thought that the prohpecy Shenhua was speaking was literal and that in the final game ryo is gonna fight a literal dragon, or worse, Lan di is gonna turn into one.

The hd collection is readily available if you want to try, they are very unique but that comes at the cost of wider appeal, dont play it unless you are ready for a very slow experience, its more an adventure game where you go around talking to locals and figuring out where to go on your own without waypoints based off talking to said locals (every single npc is a character with an in game schedule in game and pretty much every building can be entered save houses) . 2 is far more adventerous and action packed taking place in a sprawling city of hong kong but its still ultimately a laid back game about exploring and talking to people though 2 will give you dramatically more action and I do think makes for a better game. I like both but 1 can drag quite alot but 2 I legit found to be one of the better games ive played and its stuck with me for the past year since playing it.

For all the new gen kids you guys gotta take this game for what it is and realize that its not a AAA game or any game that your probably used to, you gotta keep in mind that the OG games came out in 99-2000 & they are modeling this game to be very similar to what the OGs were. DONT buy this game and trash the reviews because its not up to par with most games coming out today, they are keeping this game how it should be and continuing (hopefully finishing) what they started over 15 years ago. I for one prefer them to keep this game at its roots and not try to compensate for the new gen. I was only 5/6 years old when i was introduced to this game and now that I am 25 I am VERY excited to wrap up a story i started when i was just a little kid.....I just dont like how some ppl are expecting this CROWD FUNDED game to be over the top when its really a game started by fans so that we can get a ending (HOPEFULLY) Just sit back relax and enjoy it for what it is..........
SIDE NOTE: DONT PLAY 3 WITHOUT PLAYING 1 & 2 YOU WILL BE JUMPING INTO A STORY THAT IS ALREADY HALFWAY DONE
1 is relaxed and slow paced but still a great game & 2 is action packed with more excitement and more story
It's not the ending, We're getting about half way into the story with Shenmue 3. Although the 3rd game may wrap up Lan Di's story, atleast.
Retro Game Lord I’m aware that’s what I was referring to (Lan Di) ! I’m aware the creator said he wanted way more than 3 games but things happened with sega
@@AstroBashh Ah ok, I see lol
Chai is back! Nothing seems to keep that demented creep down
"Do you know about sailors?"
"How do I find some sailors"
Ren is back! And Ryo is still voiced by Corey Marshall. He sounds the same as he did in the other Shenmue games. But I'm glad the English voice acting is actually decent
Apparently, Ren isn’t voiced by Eric Kelso.
As Im watching this, I STILL cant believe we are getting a Shenmue 3. If it plays exactly like the older games, then I will still be happy. And if its better, then that's a bonus.
The fans came through on this one!
Yes we did!!
The great November... soon!!!
Loooks really AWESOME, it´s just Shenmue!
I LOVE IT
1:19: nothing signals more that you are from Japan and a martial artist than being an asian guy wearing jeans with a leather jacket in a provincial Chinese city
Thank you PlayStation I was so obcessed with this back on dreamcast
Playstation have nothing to do with this, it's on pc too.
@@redhunter1535 I think Sony has a whole lot to do with it. I think these videos wouldn't be on RUclips without. Even the 2015 presentation was done with their help. I want my PC version, but I know they owe Sony for Shenmue 3 coming out in a big way.
Game of the Year!!
Let's go to the arcaaaaaayyyyyyyyde!!!!
Bar Patron: "Here you go, milks perfect for a schoolboy"
Ryo:..... Proceeds to beating up about 11 grown ups
0:03 guy on the left magically appears like the other Shenmue games. Now I know they’re going for a retro look.
Dude, that just pop in...that happens in every game still to this day when the camera is rotated awkwardly.
Shenmue was so far ahead of it's time. It took everyday things like buying toys at a quarter machine to going to work on the docks and made it amazing and intriguing. Shenmue truly changed gaming more then people know and its games like this that made me a gamer for life.
"you look like you came from japan" oki
Japanese, ”the engineer repeated confidently. “Perhaps with an admixture of European blood, but the cut of the eyes, the shape of the nose ... Somewhere I saw him.” But where and when?
(JYB, the guy who plays Shinji in P3, his name escapes me)
You also mean Yu from persona 4 and Nero from dmc.
The actors name is Johnny Young Bosch
@@TheREALHugo4 yeah I know he voices those people. His name is Johnny Young Bosch, I'm referring to the other actor in Persona 3 who plays shinji as well. Grant George is his name
The original game was meant to be campy too its just the issue of voice acting at the time was such a hellscape of bad quality, for 1999 shenmue 1 actually has pretty top tier voice acting compared to stuff at the time.
Can't wait to hear the Tomato-Store Song.
Can't wait to play this!
This is to faithful, the CG animation is like from 2000 but in HD.
I know, kinda dumb but cool. I hope this game is amazing but so far it looks like its gonna get 8's across the board.
18 years waiting for shenmue 3 finally.... Thank you yu Suzuki 🙏
Lan Di is gonna feel the pain.
The feels from this trailer!!!! Cannot wait to play this!

Mayneeee i cant wait ima be up for days playin this lovely master peice i can all ready tell
SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BRO !!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the wood chopping, they don't get it, it prepared for the wing chun dummy, but pays cash. I bet everything in there is to drive the skills up for the actual play. Fishing likely is too. I just can't wait. On the equivalent of disk 3 in Shenmue 2 ATM. I keep watching these videos wishing the new ones would be put up. He needs more dev reports. He doesn't have to show the game, just talk, show some artwork maybe. Nothing revealing too much of the 3, just fun stuff.
Amazing
At long last it's here 🤗
GREAT
The perfect sequel and this is why...you are getting exactly what you would expect if a Dreamcast game got a graphical suit up in some textures, but not to the point of being too unfamiliar in design.
HOLY FRICK CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!
me neither man!
the food is GREAT
And budget friendly!
Can't wait to play this masterpiece on my dreamcast
Looks nice n colorful
All these years later and I still say “Yuanda Zu” randomly for NO REASON
I see.
Such a shame this game isn’t going to complete the saga but I’m still gonna play it considering I’ve waited what feels like two lifetimes for it
HeY mizta LeTZ Go too dEE aRc4De !
Aaaah...shenmue's golden voice acting...im gonna buy this game as soon as it comes out !
Love it!
The wait is almost over
I bought a Ps4 for Shenmue :*)
*I CAN'T WAIT AAAHHHH*
Ive waited 18 years to fight lan di
So bad the game looks horrible
My only concern is how are they gonna explain the floating sword at the end of Shenmue II... for the rest, I am genuinely satisfied to feel these familiar Shenmue vibes such the music, qte, combat system which seems decent and of course the cringey dialogues... that's the mood!
How they explain Shenhuas magic jedi power? how do they explain the shenmue tree (they can "feel" it)..
Yeah this has been bothering me too, I've always had a horrible thought that the prohpecy Shenhua was speaking was literal and that in the final game ryo is gonna fight a literal dragon, or worse, Lan di is gonna turn into one.
@@jsh020 Same here, not to mention the fact that Suzuki himself confirmed that the entire Shenmue story is supposed to be 11 chapters and Shenmue I & II already covered 5/11 which makes me believe the idea that maybe this was just the tip of the iceberg in order to introduce an eventual fantasy story... We'll see
"I'll have some more fun."
I like shenmue is my favorite game 👍❤⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hoping for a 70 man battle
Excited!
All I wanna know is if the game will have dual audio or not. All I can find is a 2016 article that has Yu Suzuki giving a maybe if they have the funds for it.
Never play this series should i start ?
Yes. This series is very unique.
Yeah they came out with a collection last year. There are some annoying QuickTime event sequences but the charm is still very much there
I hadn’t played it until last year so I have no nostalgia goggles on and I still loved every second
If you want a change of pace from your usual AAA games it's worth checking out. The controls and camera might feel dated in some spots, but it's worth it.
I cannnooot waiiittt! It looks like it has the same feel as the last 2 games
This is an awesome trailer and before any of you go buying this game, how bout trying lucky hit?
Combat looks fun
after I don't know how many years the band-aid still on his face.
J’attend rien des hommes appars Shenmue ✌🏼
Voice acting 10/10!!!!
José Barroso Boa piada
Ryo with the 300 big brain cave man IQ asks: “really? “ in such a careless tone lol
