Job: "A man rarely observes his neighbor's prosperity with happiness." Aeschylus said that, you know.
Mickey: (sipping from a flask) "Aeschylus? Wasn't he that walrus from the Woody Woodpecker cartoons?"

René Girard got me here. I would never have read the Orestia otherwise. See Girard's book "Violence and the Sacred".
Today Was the The Coronation of King Charles the Third.
One of the grandest Rituals that Humankind designed in order to connect with heavens. The John Webbs Telescope is also doing its bits to further perpetuate it's own rituals of discovery and wonders and mysteries.

God is The Grestest.
This is so awful. I feel bad for the people whose first experience of the classics is through academia and listening to some pompous wind bag
REVENGE!!!!!!!

He could play an amazing Frankenstein
Prof. Williams excellently distilled the main themes and the importance of the Oresteia.
This professor is so obviously in love with literature it's beautiful haha what a character :)
Terrific analysis of what Aeschylus was on about.
Brilliant, fascinating and utterly compelling...An outstanding lecture/talk by Professor Williams. A true man of knowledge ,wisdom and compassion.... .....I fear humanity cannot ever overcome the compulsion to violence and it will lead soon to our demise. ..And then the endless cycle will begin again.
That was deep man.
Absolutely wonderful talk. Thank you, professor Williams!
The best professor I ever had, bar none. My love of classics is down to him and him alone.
