My 431G has one of these where the latches don't grip. I've not seen any obvious reason for this, but I guess I'll have to look a bit more thoroughly. It cleaned up just like yours as well. Except one side where the dirt probably is a part of the structure lol I'm guessing I'll have to invest in some large clamps.
If the sides aren't fitting properly or are a little loose, the catches won't work. I had this with one of mine but re-gluing and clamping the sides sorted it out! Good luck!
I had a really bad one like that. I tried sugar soap but it was really dirty and the hessian was coming away. I ended up sealing it with watered down PVA glue and when dry, gave it three coats of a cream chalk paint followed by clear furniture wax. It looks great and has held up well
@@CurioByBSpokeDesignsIt's a disease (a fun one). 😁 I was there until 2008. Had 76 machines, at one point. Sold them all except for the (2) 221s, the 221K (UK voltage) and the 222K (Canadian 110v motor). Greatly enjoy your well-made videos.
Loving the A-team reference 😁
Also, thank you for a great video. I will need to try this with my vinyl case

Nicely done !!!!
Thank you!
Another excellent job. Thank you (both). Cheers 🍻🇺🇸
Thank you!
Looks really 👍
Any suggestion for disguising a dent or gouge on the vinyl top? Any experience with colored wood filler?
I would use a wood or plastic filler and spray paint the case with something like Plasticote.
I have a similar case to this but it looks like hessian that came with a 320k, could I clean it with sugar soap too?

@@CurioByBSpokeDesigns It's not in too bad condition. I will give the sugar soap a try, thank you!
My 15K80 has the same style of case but rexine covered. I've tried similar products to clean it but it still looks very grubby.
Rexine is very similar to the vinyl used on this. It should clean up ok
Rip it all off, and replace with new, this is the easiest way .
Nice tear in the sleeve of my shirt. If only I had a sewing machine...
You can borrow one of the 14 I've collected. 😁✌
I've lost count of how many I currently have! I'm barred from looking on marketplace and eBay
