Phuket is for two week millionaires. Overpriced for sure. At lease in Pattaya they cater for the expats and two week millionaires. I went to Phuket twice a good few years ago and was not wowed by it. I suppose if it's your first time in Thailand it must seem like paradise. Your room looked pretty standard for 3200 baht, nice place but expensive. I would at least expect a balcony for that money. Great video.
Thanks, Toby. Gotta say I was fairly surprised by how much prices have reason. It's a bit of a shame because there are some beautiful places on Phuket (outside Phuket), but many people will be put off by the price tags! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks, Peter. Patong is nice for a change of scenery, and definitely a good base to explore other parts of the island from. Obviously, it's also got the nightlife. But then the Pattaya nightlife and cost of living is usually superior, as you suggest!
Hi BC, another extremely useful review, a bit less stressful than taking a train! Do all rooms have access to the relax room or just the superior ones? Haven’t been to Phuket since before covid but Pattaya prices are definitely up, particularly when there is an event in town. I usually pay £35 (1575 baht) to stay in the HIE soi Bukhao. On the 14/15 this month they wanted £89 (4000 baht) for a 20m2 room. Fortunately when I was working I moved through the tiers with IHG and got an upgrade to a 77m2 suite at Holiday Inn Executive tower with stunning views of the beach for 5000 baht. Good to meet you the other evening.
Hi Neil. It was nice to meet you, too! Yes, all the rooms have access to the relax room. I think it's a nice feature, especially when nobody else is using it. Prices in Thailand seem to have risen steeply everywhere, bit I felt Phuket was unbelievable in terms of the % prices have risen since my last visit. But, hey, supply and demand. We wanted tourists flooding back and here they are! I actually went to Phuket coz my good friend was over there. He loves his IHG points and upgrades and was kind enough to give me a room to review in the Intercontinental, Pattaya. Lovely place! Probably see you later!
In my opinion the only thing that would separate this hotel from so many other budget hotels is if the rooftop pool is open 24/7. I appreciate your review
Thanks for your comment. I don't think it is 24/7. But it's a great view. I agree there's plenty of choice in Patong, and it's a matter of finding the right one for you! Check out my other reviews if you have time! ruclips.net/p/PL3hY5sq7x5XlUlhnMgQUwF2mWxliqneV1&si=4ApEUV_SnfcWfhDN
The view from the roof is pretty nice and the overall location is excellent. Good review as always. Don;t you get copyright strikes for the background music you came across near the pool? I hear other RUclipsrs mentioning that all the time.
Thanks, David. Can't really fault the location and, although expensive, that sunset view is pretty much perfect. Difficult to avoid bacround music completely when talking. I try my best, but usually youtube gives you a warning before you go "live"!
It's unusual. They give you a menu from The Coffee Club, and you order what you want. But you can order several different things and order more than once. So it's not a buffet in the sense of walking up and serving yourself from containers of pre-cooked food. And it's not a set menu because you can order whatever you want and more than once! It was actually pretty good 👍
Thank you BC for another great Patong hotel and walkabout episode. Rooftop pool with that view makes it worth the baht I would say... At my age, no one wants to see me on the toilet while in the other room! 555 An odd thing I have only seen in Thailand, the see-through bathroom wall.🤣 I can see the value if you forgot to ask your new friend if she is a lady or ladyboy 555 Relax room is a very nice addition. Happy to see you took the stairs up three floors.
Thanks, Ric. I tell you those 3 flights of stairs took it out of me! I could hardly make my way to the rooftop bar after that. Lucky they had waiter service! Gotta agree, I think that view from the roof at sunset is a huge plus. Drink on the table, quick dip in the pool, and beautiful sunset. Perfect end to the day before hitting Bangla road!
Great stuff 😊
Many thanks for the comment!

Great location. Informative video once avain. Thanks
Sorry about typo😂
Many thanks for your comment. Yes, you're right; that's a great location and a lovely place to watch the sun set!
@jariverro4696 my typos on screen are usually worse!
Thank you again for your comprehensive review. Patong is not my cup of tea but still very interested. I believe Pattaya has it hands down over Phuket.

Nice review Peter. If I ever go to Phuket I might stay there.
Thanks, Phil. It's certainly a nice hotel. I'm hoping outside high season the price might drop a bit. That would make it almost perfect!
looks good, with those stairs don't need exercise room. only problem is it's not in pattaya. guest friendly ? top job as usual.
Yes, definitely guest friendly at this hotel. If it was in Pattaya, BB, it might be a bit cheaper, I think!
Wait a minute, there isn't any door to the bathroom. What happens if you have company and you have to take a dump.
Don't worry, there's definitely a door. But to get privacy, you need to bring down the roller blind in the shower!
is it a buffet for breakfast?
