Love the vibe of patterns in seven, there’s a wave like flow that I can play for hours. Thank you for another great video.

Thanks for continuing these lessons!I noticed that you programmed the metronome to change the accents based on where you are in the rhythm. Can a regular metronome be used to practice a rhythm in 7? And if so, how?

Hi Dan. Glad you're enjoying the videos. I have a few more scheduled to come out in the next couple weeks. To answer your question, yes. I made my own click track for this video using finger cymbal samples, but there is a great metronome app called Soundbrenner which allows the user to program custom accent patterns within each metre. So you can set different sounds to keep a 322 or 223 pattern in 7/8.

@@kenshorley Thanks! I can also make my own click track in Ableton, I like to use the woodblock sound. I thought there must be a way to use a standard metronome with rhythms in 7.

Very nice lesson. Your drum sounds great. Just curious, How high can you tune a drum that size? I generally keep mine at D, but it sounds like yours is at G.

Mine is usually around D also, but I must have tuned it up to be harmonious with another instrument I was recording with! The way it sounds in this video is the highest I've ever tuned it... But it does sound nice, doesn't it?
