You have tasted one type of tamale, there are other types, with different fillings and flavours. The flavour of the tamale depends on the cook, depending on the place, town or region of Peru. So, you have only tasted one type, but you don't know if it is the tastiest, it is something you should evaluate by trying it in different places and regions. New dishes appear frequently, so there is always something new to eat. Although the churros are called "Spanish churros", they do not look like the ones from Spain, this is explained by a Spaniard, who looked for and found the real Spanish churros in Miraflores. Greetings from Peru.
I guess I’ll have to come back then and try some other types of tamales 🤩 There are lots of other dishes that I’ll have to try, so this food tour will be continued at some point ☺️
Pollo a la brasa was missing and also pan con chicharrón! I actually call Pollo a la brasa the national dish of Peru bcz Ceviche is usually eaten on the coast (the majority of Peruvian live on the coast, so it’s fairly said that ceviche is the national dish), but you can find pollo a la brasa anywhere in Peru, even in the most remote places. Amazing video! Glad you enjoyed Peruvian food! I miss my country’s cuisine so much and watching your video made me feel like home, thank you!
Thank you so much for your recommendations. I will put both dishes on the list for my next visit 😋 I had a great time in Peru and the food was so good! I hope to continue my tour through Peru someday ☺️
Danke dir! Ich fand‘s wunderschön in Peru und hoffe, eines Tages meine Reise fortsetzen zu können. Es gibt so viel zu sehen, zu lernen und zu entdecken ☺️
Peruvian food is very delicious, especially ceviche, which is considered cultural heritage. Peru is a country with the best gastronomy in the world 😋🍽️. The Peruvian cachito also looked delicious and I didn't know that the texture of the tamale is similar to hallaca here in Venezuela that really surprised me 😯

Yeah, I kept asking if it was spicy and they were always kind and offered me a non spicy version. But at first I didn’t know that food in Peru can get quite spicy and my very first dish hit me with surprise 😅🔥
That’s pretty much what I said. Usually food in Peru is way cheaper. 9 sol seems to be a bit exaggerated to be honest, but yes, 59 sol is expensive for Peru. Nevertheless this doesn’t immediately mean it’s made for tourists. In fact the restaurant where I had the Lomo Saltado was recommended to me by two girls from Lima and it was in a normal residential area, far away from any tourist attraction and full of Peruvians. In fact I believe I was the only tourist there 😅 So as in every country and city, Peru also has its social classes and therefore more expensive districts and less expensive districts. For me it was definitely worth the money!
