    Album: Invincible (2001)
Presented by: GetMusic and Rolling Stone
    Date: October 26th 2001
Invincible is the final studio album by American singer Michael Jackson, released October 30, 2001 on Epic Records. It was Jackson's sixth studio album released through Epic, and his last released before his death in 2009. Invincible incorporates R&B, pop and soul. Similarly to Jackson's previous material, Invincible explores themes such as love, romance, isolation, media criticism, and social issues.
The success of both the album and the lead off single proved that Jackson’s iconic style and musical formula was still viable and marketable in the 21st century and to yet another generation. Invincible gave Jackson №1 albums in the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and the ’00s. By early 2002 Invincible had already sold more than 6 million copies, becoming Jackson’s fastest selling album ever (yes, it sold faster than Thriller). Invincible has to date sold more than 13 million copies worldwide. IFPI put the album as the №9 best selling album of 2001 (not bad for Jackson not having released a full album of new songs since 1995’s HIStory). In 2009, Billboard magazine readers voted Invincible the best album of the decade.

@Sammy Robinson yes! Very humble indeed! Extremely humble when it came to his amazing talent of song writing/composing etc. He never gave himself any credit for this EVER, throughout his whole career! That said though, he meant/believed everything he said and truly felt/believed he was the person chosen to 'receive' these songs/messages, from God, to 'deliver' them. I've never heard any other artist say anything even remotely similar in how they write songs etc.....ever! Maybe thats why no other artist has ever or will ever become as successful as MJ.

Yes and the person in charge of the fiasco was Tommy Matolla! Mj hated him. Matolla didn’t want blacks to have as much power as Michael Jackson had. And Sony wanted his lucrative music catalog. Sony never promoted the record Invincible so it didn’t make as much money as his past albums.

Avo Cado : Yes. 2 stay humble is a huge trait 4 almost every #Jackson member. It seems AND it is the most difficult trait 2 cultivate b/c the world, often times, can be so broken & focuses on the negativity rather than being positive & uplifting people. So, #MichaelJackson 👑💕 is quite a rarity with his mega-talents.. I heard him once say that he only wanted to try to walk in the footsteps of #JesusChrist & be *humble* in life. Quite telling of his core spirituality. Yes. Being humble is truly an amazing trait 2 have & cultivate.

What's amazing about this interview is how little Michael talks about himself, how little ego he has (despite being the greatest entertainer of all time) he's still curious about life, art, music, film - he had so much left to still give and is a real, real, real artist. Everything about how he explains what he does is about channelling God's work through his mind and body - he doesn't take credit, instead he's listening to what God wants and interpreting it. A lot of people tried to turn MJ into a weird monster for the last 15-years of his life...but listen to this interview and it's so clear that he's such a kind, gentle, peaceful and artistic soul that was anything but weird. His children, and especially Prince are proof of what a great father he was too. Great interview.

This almost feels unreal. An interview where Michael is just talking about his music for 1 hour and the press isn’t on his case about something else? Having watched Michael’s Oprah, Martin bashit*, Diane sawyer, Barbara walters etc. for so many years now, this interview is a rarity of its kind. I just happened to stumble upon it through this Invincible article that linked the video and i can’t believe it. It feels like Michael is just talking to you one on one in a room about his creative process. This was such a treat. I wish he had the opportunity to do more of these- thank you!

This is such an amazing interview! Unfortunately one out of a few cases where Michael was asked in depth about his music instead of having to put up with invasive questions a la Diane Sawyer again.
Michael is such an eloquent, funny and very charismatic man - it doesn't make sense to me how others can blend out all of his goodness and hard efforts to create the best music possible and downright demonize him! This man genuinely cared about what he did, what was happening in the music industry and he gave his all to make others hurt less; he went the extra mile for each person he saw that was in need, tending to their needs without having some sort of motive in mind like "oh, I'm gonna look like a saint if I do xyz for this person", no. Not Michael. He really perfectly demonstrated what it means to be truly selfless, to be there for others without putting oneself right at the center of any situation. This man is a rare gem and he's deeply, very deeply missed.

Due to being raised well but he is so humble and for someone on the level mj is at ( I talk in the present because he is very much still alive in certain ways ) to speak like this it sounds like somone at start of their career wanting to please people and behave well so they listen to his music .
But this was at the end ! After so many huge achievements to be this way and still retain so many humble polite characteristics when he got to a level no one will EVER get to again is part of why he was so special .
Just imagine if people listened to this interview on mainstream instead of the perception the scum in the media created .
So so unbelievably down to earth . The kindness here is who MJ was and to be this way after all the bs he went through prior is something special .
