Hi Tony, if you enjoyed this video you'd probably enjoy the one I just published to my channel with 2x All American Mitch Minotti from Lehigh. We break down the whole match and he really went in depth and show us the nuances of his technique and mindset. If you enjoyed this I think you'd enjoy ours. Hope you get the chance to check it out: ruclips.net/video/buIk1dM5Mhk/видео.html
IMO most entertaining college wrestler right now! Even David Taylor said the creativity and technique along with his crazy gas tank makes him very hard to wrestle. If he stays injury free he’ll win another NCAA title next year by a landslide only Hidlay coming anywhere close. Absolute beast maybe more dominant than Rutherford next year. We’ll see

@@wrefine9092 I'll check it out. I saw Minotti a lot in high school wrestling for Easton (?) He was pretty slick. Seems to me he may have had a controversial win at states over a kid from LaSalle College. and btw, my brother wrestled for Lehigh too. Unfortunatley there was another guy in his weight class named Caruso. So he only was an occasional spot starter.
@@oldcougar65 that's right PIAA state champ from Easton. Mitch is our guy and he did a whole in-depth breakdown with us hope you get a chance to check it out! Share if you feel it's worthy!
U sir are a gentleman n a scholar. Thank u so much for these videos. I thoroughly enjoy studying them. I love how u are combining wrestling n bjj. The way it was always meant to be. Sister arts that work better together than separate. Thank u for these ingenious n insightful breakdowns. Best ones I've seen.
Jason's athleticism, explosiveness and kinesthetic awareness is on just a different level and honestly some things work for him that don't work for any other human on the planet.
Bro thanks for introducing me to the Silk Music channel. I've been listening to them a ton these past three days. I just posted on their feed how I heard about the channel through you. House Music and Wrestling?!?! We're friends and we've never met. What about a breakdown of Mark Hall's "Duck Under"? I know he didn't hit against Zahid in the finals, but it's a sick move or maybe a "boot scoot" when you see one, keep them on your radar. Wishing you the best.
You're welcome. I had just put the mention in the live chat on the Silk Music Channel. I'll definitely check out your other vids and hope to see more Wrestling.
I'm a hardcore Hawkeye fan, but THIS is the reason why Penn State is such the dominant Mat tactician's they are. Constantly trying to improve moves, counters, attacks and such. Being a Judo player for some 30 years myself, and a 2 time State Champ at 189 lbs. in 83 and 84 in Tennessee... improvising the usage of legal Judo slides and movements into Wrestling is an awesome achievement...and it's both easily and readily seen during both Bo Nickel's AND Jason Nolf's Wrestling styles. I see Bo using inversion during takedowns often, which are the perfect beginning moves of both knee bars, and multiple ankle locks, and quad/hamstring manipulation. They simply use it as a takedown move that blows opponents minds when applied to them. The bow and arrow is a legal form of a move that causes tremendous discomfort if one doesn't turn to their back. That's a move that HAD be a form of the figure 4, when applied correctly, will have someone tapping in something other than Wrestling. I believe that Bo's the person that really integrated Judoka into PS wrestling ...and after a career in the MMA world, he will be THE person a University would want to get as THEIR Wrestling Coach. His Drive, enthusiasm, sheer NEED to achieve victories, and ULTRA skill on the mat,, are definitely something a University...like PITT, could use to achieve an awesome team on the mat. I am a Southern Man, but the BIG10 Channel, and their coverage of the NCAA Wrestling Season is why I watch the BIG10 Channel. I love Iowa Wrestling..but they have GOT to find the top flight TECHNICAL abilities to counter State College's GRIP on the National Championships they are racking up their. Along with ALL the damned talent produced by Pennsylvania in High School, and Team Club Wrestling they've dominated in, having Cael Sanderson as Coach...as well as all those great assistants, KEEPS them standing atop The Mountain....looking down.. chuckling, just to see whom will finish second. Somebody better do SOMETHING, or they will just keep piling up the National Championships!! Where, in the BIG10, Wrestling National Championships, seem to be a rather prestigious honor, and a WELL DESERVED honor, at that!! And for THIS Chattanooga, Tennessean,...I LOVE NCAA Wrestling season, the BIG10, and the BIG10 Network. Up till around 2008, I despised the end of College Football Season. But since around then...it's just the BEGINNING of the Wrestling Season that they start showing on the BIG10 Network. Boy, did that not bring a RAINBOW at the end of Football Season!!
Watching the video again. The video connects very well with Gambledub's crucifix studies - the Leg Lock Connection, etc. It also reminds of Braulio Estima's reverse triangle and Danaher's kimura triangle combination.

Love Jason Nolf! This is a great technique, known as a triangle in Jiu Jitsu, although he didn't lock it up. I've see this before in wrestling, but wrestlers don't seem to lock up that triangle, not sure if it's because they don't want to get stuck there, or just that they haven't been taught.
The guy is incredible....I mean just one of the most creative of all time
It’s crazy to think he got bodied by Dake
Glad someone finally cracked that stupid stalemate position. Nolf is a real innovator
Nolf is a Jedi.

He tried this move at the Scuffle a year ago and the ref didn't know what he was seeing - no points scored but a lot of open mouths.

Ill have to give this a shot at training, looks pretty slick. Thanks for another great video Dan!
Will do !
its crazy how kyle dake just tech’d him in 40 seconds
Was it in freestyle?
@@bobbymoore1168 yea at the olympic trials
You could see Nolf setting it and baiting the opponent to take it the second time.
The move is such a glitch in the matrix to wrestling where you have fake control/ near fall but that’s the beauty of it. It’s like the Fosbury flop
Jason's athleticism, explosiveness and kinesthetic awareness is on just a different level and honestly some things work for him that don't work for any other human on the planet.
A thing of beauty.
Thanks again for a great analysis, keep doing what you are doing
Thank you for breaking this down. I'll admit many times I watch a wrestling move 10 times, and I still can't tell how they did it.
p.s. great track
Sweeet move!!! Love watching Nolf!
Dope. He's switching to a pendulum sweep from BJJ mid takedown.

Some interesting points, Jeff. Thanks for the comment!
This would be such a cool entry for grappling into an arm bar or triangle
I like these
I can see this being useful when on top north south turtle. Thanks for these Sir!

So...he back triangles the guy in midair Toby Imada style? Pretty sweet.
great video bro
Straight to reverse triangle, would be cool to see someone pull this off in high level grappling.
Gabriel Kimbrough it would be considered a technical violation if they locked up a triangle/figure 4
This could be a nice counter that leads to inverted triangle in sub grappling
The techno-trash muzak needs to be excised from the video.
Very cool
Looks like a judo sankaku
Very similar to Winston Gordon's arm bar...Nolf has definitely done Judo or Jujitsu
I enjoy these, just wish there was a voice over instead of the text.
Half of actually being able to hit this move is being Jason Nolf lol
dood.thsese videos.are good
I almost thought it was an armbar variation
Get a kimura grip and that is a nutcracker choke. (Just clear the arm and cross the feet)
Does anyone know what software is used to edit these videos?
I have met nolf before and i have his autograph
I like. Very jiu-jitsuey. He might know some
Even if you don't get the farside armpit, will scissored legs over the head be heavy enough to drag the guy down?
Dan Sweeney but if you're already stacked on the guy's head and about to topple forward, what other escapes are there?
Dan Sweeney got it
jacori teemer can wrestle like this if he just wrestle free n go to score n work hard everyday
Not too different than an armbar or triangle roll you'd see in judo or bjj.
This poor kid he is wrestling wishes he never put on his singlet this day.
Looks like a leg cradle to me
Then ur blind my friend :D
Music GOTTA stop bro
No. You're wrong. ;)
Reverse triangle
