Having discovered this video last summer I started drilling the technique for Submission Grappling; I found that it allowed for the mounted guillotine, a neck crank from side control and was a brilliant entry into the “truck” position. Also, I was preferring this over the Kimura trap , a long time favorite attack against wrestlers.
I hardly comment on videos but you sir show a attention to detail and precision that amazed me I have watched several of your videos and find them more helpful than any wrestling instructional Ive seen yet, I am a submission grappler and these moves are giving me confidence on not only get my +2 for takedown but multiple for the positioning you end up with, keep up the good work coach-James G. This was called "The Grasshopper" when I wrestled in the 90's. It was a very clever deception. Dangle the lead leg offering it up for the single leg & #BOOM ,pin, match!
I used to do a similar move, instead of dropping to my side I sat but with my free leg hooking theirs at the the same time with my arm closing the cradle then I rolled him back and I arched or sometimes just rolled along and stayed on top with the cradle or half... however I felt. But this here what you showed makes it look a lot easier hahaha AWESOME!!
I do this move all the time in high school, it works extremly well and most people don't know about it. One thing I do differently though is from the front headlock on the right, I sprawl both legs as far left as I can get them then get deep on the knee to lock up. It's a little quicker with less risk
Cary These moves would help me win matches... This is my third year wrestling... This is my senior year... Including the wrestling navy finish which I love more...
good move havent tried it but looked good, ijust have the thought that if you messed up and his head slipped out hed be able to put you on your back. havent tried it so i dont know but seems like a great move to try.
I love the cradle, in fact it is one my favorite pinning combinations. But from feet? I would use this all the time but I'm afraid my opponent might slip their head out and I could get pinned.
Dear Kolat, This move like all of your moves looks extremely effective but is this a high percentage move or is this a sort of opportunistic move? What would you say to a kid who fell in love with this move? Would you caution them from doing it too often? Thanks!
Hey Kolat I was wondering if you could tell me what to do when your opponent is running away from you because at my level a lot of people do that to me.
Wrestlers, this is a great counter move. However, it's very important you don't allow your opponent a single leg just so you can attempt this move. Great wrestlers have great balance and will very likely finish a single leg. That being said, Mr. Kolat is exceptional and his techniques are nothing short of fantastic.
So we had wrestling practice today... and i tried this with a partner. I kinda popped his shoulder. Is this illegal? Im 13 and First time in wrestling.
If you beat him to the ankle he will not be able to drop to his knees. So you need to drill this and get the setup right so you can surprise your opponent when you go for it.
Hit this move last night at my tournament! He made the first shot to open the round and I finished it with this move! Worked like a charm! :D
I wish RUclips was around when I was in high school!
Every single one of your videos leave me stunned! You have mad skills!
Thank you Mr. Kolat! Your short and to the point videos are revolutionary!
seems like even if I got a pin from this move, I'd still get yelled at from being on my back for that split second. fun to hit live at practice tho.
Yeh and if this happens sloppy in any way then u pull it u might lose two if the ref doesn't see what's happening.
Thank you for these invaluable teaching videos, you are helping develop a generation of great wrestlers!

This reminds me so much of a move called the "smal package" in professional wrestling. Classic move and finisher.

I don't want to crush anyones enthusiasm for learning but I would make sure you have some time to drill it before the event. Good Luck!
Never used in mma that I've seen and that's insane.
I did this at Mawa regionals
I actually used this in wrestling and pinned this dude's ass, thanks to this video.😎👍
so thats why my coach told me to put my head inside on a single (and also for pressure for some takedowns)

I love the cradle, in fact it is one my favorite pinning combinations. But from feet? I would use this all the time but I'm afraid my opponent might slip their head out and I could get pinned.
This looks very cool and is a impressive counterattack. I wanna become way better st wrestling
You can do it if you put in the work!
Sir u r greatest
Do you do any more videos
Hey coach, we have filled out the North Carolina recruit form. What's the best way to set up a visit?
You want them to drive forward. It will make them easier to flip because they are adding momentum to their fall.
One of my favorite defenses I used to bait guys with my leg just to hit this
So heres a question, would it be a good idea to lock our hands when we go chest to chest?
I like it!!!!!!!
Dear Kolat,
This move like all of your moves looks extremely effective but is this a high percentage move or is this a sort of opportunistic move? What would you say to a kid who fell in love with this move? Would you caution them from doing it too often? Thanks!
yes sir
sir I'm a Indian wrestler your techniques is osm
How long did it take you to perfect this move
nice
🙏
Make sure you got momentum while.doing this
beautiful
Hey Kolat I was wondering if you could tell me what to do when your opponent is running away from you because at my level a lot of people do that to me.
repediatly tap 6 and 7(: and great move btw ima practice it(:
How do u reverse it
Wrestlers, this is a great counter move. However, it's very important you don't allow your opponent a single leg just so you can attempt this move. Great wrestlers have great balance and will very likely finish a single leg. That being said, Mr. Kolat is exceptional and his techniques are nothing short of fantastic.
do you have a cross face cradle vid?
+josueandres2001 go here: www.kolat.com/apps/search?q=cross+face+cradle
+Cary Kolat (KOLAT.COM) thanks. my wrestling coach said you're a champion but I forget for what.
@ViperoneAlpha you're definitely right.
SMALL PACKAGE!!!
It's my dream and goal in life to become a Olympic wrestler
@antpassalacqua I mean if the move is done right. iff he keeps his head lock on tight its a pretty damn good move. Obviously there is a series here.
niceeee .. i like ur videos......
:)
do they have to have a single to do this move?
I wish I could do this without messing yo so I’m scared to try it
good =)
How do you get out of a pin
get your back off the ground
Nahhh
+malik mcfarland bridge and flip
You don't
if somebody is holding you on the chest what are you so post to do then
+Salax Nuur Not sure what you are referring to. This cradle from feet is setup defending a single leg.
I'm Indian an I am your big fan
So we had wrestling practice today... and i tried this with a partner. I kinda popped his shoulder. Is this illegal? Im 13 and First time in wrestling.
is legal in high school?
I would probably just to an arm bar chancie if I had his chin instead of risking that move but it cool for practice
What if when you drop to your hip he falls to his knees
If you beat him to the ankle he will not be able to drop to his knees. So you need to drill this and get the setup right so you can surprise your opponent when you go for it.
@razaviknows by sacrifice move i just mean a technique which starts with you falling backwards.
