Thank you for your comments, Gregor. The mellotron patch was one that came with our Roland keyboard. The key to giving it depth like the Moody Blues did on their recordings is to record the left and right channels of the mellotron separately by playing the same notes and chords twice. When mixing, we place the channels far left and far right. This greatly enhances the depth and sound of the mellotron patch.
As a former mellotron owner, may I recommend "Keyboards Of The '60s &'70s" plug-in card for your Roland. All but one sample is mediocre at best, but that one that's good is a Mike-Pinder-Mellotron style sample. I currently use it in my Moodies cover act and it's spot-on!
Beautiful ❤

Very nice cover. What is that mellotron patch you use? I always had issues reproducing the mellotron sound on modern synths.
